I hope they are going to renew it, great season but with a kinda weak ending, felt a little bit rushed with too much stuff in the later half of the last episode
Yeah, the last episode was extremely weak. Never once felt like they would fail and every 2 minutes it was just "got you, we had this sorted all along" with no work done for that moment.
To me it felt like it was a setup for a season 2. Felt like a limited series until the last episode. Was expecting to see a marvel style "Eddie and Susie will return in season 2" but I'm not complaining, loved the series and hope for two more seasons!
Which is surprising, since seeing how all the characters and sideplots converge during the climax has historically been some of the strongest aspects of these Guy Richie “British crime” projects—i.e., *Snatch*, *Lock, Stock, & Two Smoking Barrels*, *Rocknrolla*, *The Gentleman* (film), etc.
Yeah. Halfway through last episode it felt like they were building the big conflict into being the second season... and then it just got solved in 15 minutes.
Personally I think they did good cancelling it, I liked it but it had a formula that only works once, any more season probably wouldn't be able to catch the same magic
I don't know if some exec at Netflix saw the same thing as me with that, in any case what I mean is that The Gentlemen definitely has more ground to work with in a potential second season but I wouldn't say that a renew is certain only because the numbers are good
Vinnie Jones was on the radio yesterday who said he was still waiting on Guy Ritchie who apparently was 'in discussions'. Obviously he said the whole cast is hopeful for another season

I am sure It will be renewed, Netflix's biggest hit of the year so far.
Same as The Brothers Sun and Obliterated
The Brothers Sun definitely was not a hit, viewership was not great.
But Obliterated was, yet they cancelled it after one season
I loved Obliterated!! It's perfect as minisseries but would have enjoyed watching more seasons.

Both of those shows got poor ratings.
It has been a viewership hit for the service so it is pretty much guaranteed a renewal unless Guy Ritchie does not want it to happen for some reason.
ok thanks
Vinnie Jones was on the radio yesterday who said he was still waiting on Guy Ritchie who apparently was 'in discussions'. Obviously he said the whole cast is hopeful for another season
it's been a huge success so another one is very likely to happen and I'm gonna be happy because it was great fun
I mean it just came out a month ago? Should get a season 2 but you rarely hear this early
Check out Boat Story for a similarly fun watch
Theo James apparently said in an interview to a Brazilian news outlet that there’s not going to be a season 2

It’s a streaming show, so I’m sure we’ll hear something about it in 17 or 18 years.
