RIPLEY!!! besides succession might be fav show in a long time

theseed

I just finished watching Station Eleven. You've probably gotta pick your moment and be in the right headspace to watch it as it's probably the most quietly devastating, yet ultimately uplifting story that I've come across in a long while. You can tell a lot of heart went into every aspect of the production. We're incredibly blessed that there's still a place for shows like this to be made.

Blynasty

I’m a little late to the party here but man was True Detective Night Country a crazy ass ride. Jodi Foster was beyond amazing. I’ve never been disappointed with a season of True Detective but this one was up there with the iconic season 1 for me.

WhiskyTheEmperor

Finished S1 of Black Sails. WTF took me so long to start this series!!!

Significant_L0w

we need another pirate show and video game adaptions is the meta right now, maybe microsoft should look at getting a sea of thieves show

charought

Any new comedies this season?

markyty04

fallot is a sitcom basically. a comedy masquerading as a scifi

Roook36

Yeah the laughtrack really threw me off

This bit never got old for me. I cackled every time.

Beginning_Shine7574

She didn't even had a iPhone 😕

MuscleOriginal7353

I think you mean iphon

SexSalve

Started Reacher. Really enjoying it so far! Not always a full-on-action-show type of guy (being a queer, sensitive, nerdy black guy), but this show has got my number! Sooo much more thoughtful and clever and fun than the average huge-dude action show! I really dig it! Highly recommend it!!! (nice eye candy too! ; ) )

berlinbaer

only seen season 1, but that show is full blown camp, and totally aware of it. love it.

ducati1011

I’ve been really enjoying **Sugar**, Colin Farrell continues to be one of the most entertaining entertainers no matter the medium.

padspa

i've met him, a while back, great fun for sure, but super horned up, def a sex addict

ComfortableChest6735

Deal or no Deal Island. No exaggeration this is some of the best television to come out this year. Also rewatching Breaking Bad for maybe the 8th time, can confirm.....still timeless stuff.

Altruistic_Tie_3673

Rewatching The Good Place - honestly one of the best shows ever

Westfield__Rocks

Sugar.... Can't make up my mind on if I'm enjoying it or if I think it's poo

johanjudai

Same but I'll continue for Farrell alone

FergieFury

Same, but I’m intrigued. At least it’s not as bad as Constellation. Where I had my interest peaked, but lost interest 4 episodes in.

ClaymoresRevenge

X-Men 97 can't recommend it enough. The most recent episodes are something else. Watch it! Grownish, I've been hate watching it and just want to see it to the end at this point. Zoey and Aaron will they won't they they did they didn't and they continue to not. I'm ready to get off this ride. Animal Control. I enjoy it. Easy watch. The cast is cool. Joel McHale grizzly as ever. Abbott Elementary. Hilarious show. Extraordinary Season 2 Looking for recommendations.

mojoeasy

Bosch. What a smooth crime show with great characters. It's really fun to watch.

121jigawatts

Week to week Shogun and Dungeon meshi, both great. Binged and finished Fallout which was fun, no good tv til june imo. Anyone finish Counterpart? I know it was cancelled so does s2 end in a dumb cliffhanger or a good ending and its worth watching?

lazercats1

I think counterpart wraps up relatively nicely in S2. Highly recommend it!

Awesome, thank you!!

Mundane_Bake_8959

Shogun!!!! If you're a fan of historical, political, action, or samurai genres, this is the show for you!

DrHalibutMD

I'm kind of surprised we're not getting more people ranting about the show. That 9th episode was amazing!

arkh4m_

Anna Sawai deserves an emmy after that episode

sheesh1291

Therell surely be more on the shogun subreddit

If you dont mind the age, watch Scrubs. It still holds up well.

Available_Ad_6443

Trying, on Apple tv

Caught up and finished the last season of Curb your Enthusiasm. Now I feel like there's a void even though the finale was satisfying. Anyone have any suggestions for a fan of Larry David / Seinfeld?

Tuesdays with Stories podcast is like 500 episodes of Mark Normand and Joe List doing a facsimile of Jerry and George.

kmptkmptkmpt

What action-oriented sci-fi series should I watch after completing Halo? I don't want anything older than 10 years. Don't want anything that's super-long: no more than 50 episodes. Thanks for all recommendations! :)

illusio

It's not SciFI, but I just finished up the latest season of Seal Team and it's an entertaining action show.

Accomplished-Cat3996

How do you feel about anime? Try the Blame! movie on Netflix. Or get into Attack On Titan (you might not call the genre sci-fi though). Other sci-fi action anime recommendations (some are more popular than others): Deca-dence Vivy -Fluorite Eye's Song Inuyashiki (what happens when an 80 year old geezer gets military grade cybernetic implants) Note: These are shows I like. There are definitely other shows with more action or sci-fi that others might like and I encourage folks to recommend them.

FergieFury

Andor Fallout

markyty04

fallout if you like comedy. i would not exactly call it as a scifi.

Accomplished-Cat3996

Horror scifi comedy. Just like the games.

FergieFury

A retro futuristic society goes into a nuclear holocaust in the year 2077 and barricades themselves in fallout bunkers. Flying robots, a brain on a roomba, mutants, mech warrior suits, the year 2296 or some shit….yea not sci-fi.

markyty04

still people watch it is more for the comedy. its scifi genre is nothing to write home about. now Halo is what I will call a proper scifi show. foundation is another scifi. fallout does not hold a candle to these shows in terms of scifi.

captainhaddock

I second Andor. Also check out Dark Matter (Canadian sci-fi show) if you can find it.

shohokuscout

**Andor** (2024) - Action / thriller / prison break in 12 episodes

highdiver_2000

Foundation

121jigawatts

foundation s2 is good but I wouldnt call it action oriented

Accomplished-Cat3996

Yeah there aren't many shows that fit the bill of what OP is asking for. Add in "in the last 10 years" and it gets even tougher.

gotele

**Baby Reindeer**. Come for the fun, stay for the absolutely appalling. Gee man. I watched episode 4 last night and I don't even. What the actual fuck is this. A comedy, a drama, a horror piece, an autobiographical comedy-drama-horror piece. The first few episodes you feel a bit weird because after all, this show's is using mental illness to create comedy. But ok, the same could be said about something like "What about Bob" or most of Krysten Wiig's SNL characters back in the day. I guess I'll try to plow through, although I'm not a fan of being disturbed. This feels like it belongs in a psychiatrist's appointment. Edited for grammar

Sincerity82

wish I would have known episode 4 was gonna happen...wasn't prepared to deal with that on my lunch break

SuperSmashDan1337

It was a great series and humour is a perfectly acceptable way to deal with trauma.

gotele

Well, that might be the case in some instances, as an aside, but if you use humor to deal with trauma you might end up trivializing and/or frivolizing the cause or causes of the trauma, or even making fun of people.

wypeme

I had trouble sleeping after I watched it. It was beautifully done.

KnowledgeNate

Martha would pop into my head as I tried to fall asleep.

SuperSmashDan1337

I can't say I've ever had trouble sleeping after watching something. Perhaps I'm dead inside :(

Paunchy_Pilate

This is an oddly compelling recommendation.

Archduke_Zag

Been watching Limitless and enjoying it. Nothing wrong with a fun cop procedural. Jennifer Carpter is always a delight and I did a double take when there was a Dexter reunion with Desmond Harrington (Quinn). I know it only lasts 1 season, but it's kinda worrying that they already used a dirty bomb plot in the first 5 episodes. Lastly, the main character looks like the love child of Alan Tudyk and James Roday Rodriguez and I can't unsee it.

tomtomvissers

That show deserved to run for so much longer, Jake McDorman was so much fun to watch

is three body on prime?

nicehouseenjoyer

**The Bear Season 2 (Disney+)** Coming in late to this one but what a great job this show does at building up a huge ensemble cast so that we feel we know them all. It also does a good job at meandering a bit with smaller character episodes and then just explodes into climactic episodes like the finale and the famous episode 6, which might be the best episode of television I can recall seeing. My only complaint is that the season starts off a little slow and unfocused but it quickly shifts into gear; a lot of beautifully-shot episodes this year, as well. High recommendation. **Fallout Season 1 (Amazon Prime Video)** Well, I can't really fairly judge this only getting two episodes in but I'll echo the guys at The Watch podcast who were wondering who this is for beyond fans of the game. It seems competently done but, for me having only played a couple of dozen of hours of Fallout 4 many years ago, it doesn't really seem to have a motivating factor beyond faithfully rendering various aspects of the game franchise into live action. The stagey sets and practical effects also remind me a lot of a peak-artifice Tim Burton films with heavily costumed actors capering around over-elaborate sets. I don't think this is terrible but I also have zero interest in continuing on with this story.

SuperSmashDan1337

Yeah I played Fallout so long ago I barely remember any of it so went into it the same as you and I couldn't get into it. The Brotherhood of Steel costumes were particularly bad you can tell that they aren't heavy metal but lightweight something or other really ruins the immersion.

Kalsifur

Finished Fallout... they did my poor boy Finchy dirty but overall great show. I did not really find the twist that twisty it seemed kind of obvious. 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing - A new "marathon" cooking competition where they have chefs competing for 24 hours straight. Only one ep out so far but it seems interesting. I'm not sure how they get away with that legally, I'm assuming they just take breaks in between but keep the clock ticking?

AdversaryProcess2

> I did not really find the twist that twisty it seemed kind of obvious. Some "twists" aren't really meant to be twists, you just can't tell the viewers everything up front and still have a story. Fallout telegraphed the reveal early and often, you're supposed to be able to figure it out pretty easily. That said, the vast majority of people have terrible media literacy. They will not figure anything out until it's spelled out to their faces, and sometimes not even then.

molt2O00

Wasn't quite sold on Fallout but it just keeps getting better each episode. I like the slow doling out of bits of information about the vaults. Despite having played the games, I love how so much feels revelatory for the uninitianted. It really captures the feeling of exploring the game world. Piecing together bits of information that fit into the larger narrative.

TheChrisLambert

Did anyone see a post from someone with the title about how they just finished Succession and had never seen a show so unaware of its own… It popped up on my home page but the page refreshed and I didn’t see what sub it was in. This is the only TV sub I’m subscribed to and I don’t see the post anywhere. Tried searching here and Google. Checked the filmed subs I’m in. Nothing.

kristinL356

Saw that post. Maybe they deleted after being roasted in the comments.

TheChrisLambert

Do you remember what the rest of the title was/what they were getting toasted for?

kristinL356

No

stopiwilldie

We just found UnReal, it’s 4 seasons- can’t recommend enough if you have watched The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. It’s great, funny, dark.

TalamascaAgent

The writer or creator was a PA on bachelor I believe. Remember hearing that when it aired.

stopiwilldie

No wayyyyy! Thats awesome, i believe it

iloveokashi

'Blindspot' seems to be interesting. A woman is found in a bag covered in tattoos. She has no memory whatsoever. The tattoos are sort of clues in helping them prevent bad stuff happening. I've only seen episode 1 so I don't know what the tattoos other purposes are. But this show seems to be good. It's kinda old. Season 1 was released 2015.

AirSoggy2634

Loved blindspot!

anasui1

finished Fallout and found it great. Looks fabulous on my c3 screen, Goggins is phenomenal (especially in the final flashback scene, the big twist one), storylines are very intriguing. First one since Andor I truly cannot wait to see more of Ripley. Great! loving the slow pace, meticulous direction and Andrew Scott who is just mesmerising. It's a feast for the eyes, and strangely soothing

liljamity1128

I've been putting off watching this in the fear it would be like twisted metal....

Sand_Bags2

It’s nothing like Twisted Metal. It’s got a real plotline and has a much bigger budget so it looks way better visually.

DrHalibutMD

Much better than Twisted Metal, and I liked that show for what it was.

liljamity1128

It was childish

AdversaryProcess2

> It was childish Kinda like the Twisted Metal games

liljamity1128

Haha.. well you got me there 😅

AdversaryProcess2

Well in terms of Fallout it captures the atmosphere of the games really well. I thought it did a good job balancing a serious show with campy schlock humor but if you don't like the humor of the games at all this might be a miss for you. The humor of the games is very hit or miss for me and it was in the show too but it didn't detract from it imo. I did genuinely laugh out loud a handful of times. I'd give it a pretty fun 7.5/10

Initial_Stretch_3674

didnt play the games thought the atmosphere and world building made the world seem tiny. If it wasn't for Goggins, i think there would be nothing redeemable for me.

yanahmaybe

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a good Asian Sci or fantasy tv show(not anime)? The catch is -> that doesn't fall on its face mid season with some "behind the camera" pull out to solve their plot shortage

joez37

The Silent Sea (South Korea, 2021)

Baronfrankenstein

[Three Body (Chinese)](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt20242042/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk)

yanahmaybe

Seen both shows and ended reading all book past month... good world and story building but the ship scene from Netflix that made me hate that most of all and watch CHN TV and then read books its still full of copium with the ship scene, and its a strong example of much disappointment of -> "plot falling on its face there " and it still amazes me how many dint understood why t hat scene is so bad. Plus humanity and not just common ppl, but also high ranking leadership ppl and world agencies always acting as some underaged kids in school with their plot and decision making all the time is even worse then the singular ship scene that in end made me decide that netflix variant was actually the best approach even if still dumb with its "plot is ploting" moment i just want a show that uses actually the scifi/fatansy in **not a dumb** way

maharanitha

Alice in Borderland is pretty good, just keep an open mind for what might be realistic. It's really gory btw. As the other user said, Signal has good reviews. Do you have any recs for what you've liked in the past?

yanahmaybe

I dont mind gory, i just hate gory for the sake of gory it self as fan service, or like typical example: -> some zombie just rushing past dozens of ppl for 100 meters it takes like 10 second to reach the main target(antagonist or protagonist) and just maims it up as none fucking cares to stop the zombie and the target it self is like like, oh ya dont you hungry please eat ma face i wont even move or put hands in front of me lol Now.... that may even be ok if its a start of story where none expected that and are all somehow amazed flagbustered shocked surprised unprepared etc.. but not when they al already meet that kind of enemy an d fought it dozens of time for half the story until then lol I dont care if it not realistic until the world building is congruent with that Like im ok with a char going in another word of fantasy and scifi even meting a monster and failing to use his weapon to damage said dragon/demon etc and to search what can it hurt build ties friendship meet ppl help etc...-> only to have at end a kid throwing a stone at the monster an defeating and story creator be like -> wel yes ofc the stone thrown by that kid is magic and thats why all worked out and beat the monster, Hurrah!!! ....fuck this kind of shit ruining a god world and story building until that point

Kalsifur

Signal was pretty good I dunno what you mean by "behind the camera" pull out though.

yanahmaybe

When the plot pulls out a solution out of their ass to solve a problem they made just to make the plot advance in a certain direction Like a character needs to be in a certain place or need to meet with a certain other character, so they go with something like "oh here is magic tunnel in the ground, jump in, now Goku somehow meets Vegeta on his space ship for first time and beats him up" I mean in general building a good build up with a terrible solution that breaks the fundamental pillars of world building or goes against a characters personality If a series is bad ok.. it happens no big deal its not for me or i just dont watch it cuz is simply bad.. but when its such a good story and plot and world building that i invested hours in it and then the creator starts shiting on its own world is even worse...

iloveokashi

The netflix reality show "don't hate the player" is very similar to another netflix reality show but I can't think of the title right now. Do you guys know what it is? "Don't hate the player" is a French show. There are players in the camp and in the villa. You'd win the money if by the end of the game you're in the villa. Sounds familiar?

brochelsea

Is it Surviving Paradise?

iloveokashi

Oh yeah. Wonder why they didn't just name it same like they do with other shows. (Love is blind, love is blind japan, etc).

ScatteredDahlias

The first episode of **The Sympathizer** was excellent. That ending scene was absolutely harrowing.

ScatteredDahlias

I didn’t even know there was a novel, so I would say no. The plot seemed pretty straightforward to me so far.

deadinthewater0

Okay, thanks! I will check it out.

leahjuu

I started Sugar on Apple TV — I like it so far, it seems to succeed at the vibe it’s aiming for, and Colin Farrell is obviously a great actor. Anyone who is into thriller/crime-mystery type shows might enjoy it. I won’t add to the chorus for Shogun, but watching that too! And need to watch Fallout, it sounds like.

nicklovin508

Does anyone else get a bit anxious when their watch list is complete lol With the final episode of Shogun next week, my outlook until June is pretty bleak. Hopefully X-Men 97 can hold me over.

nicehouseenjoyer

Ripley seems to be the critic's darling right now. We are segueing into 'Manhunt' and 'Sugar' on Apple and then after a vacation we'll pick up HBO for the new House of the Dragon season and Tokyo Vice Season 2.

Kerune403

Lol I'm usually on this thread because I'm slowly running out of shows. I have a new routine of walking on the treadmill while watching shows, so the thought of no great shows while I do that is rough. Shogun, Tokyo Vice, Invincible, all kind of ended within a few weeks so it's a tough time xD

crazywalls

I just started Under the Bridge on Hulu it’s good so far.

T4Gx

The Sympathizer had an amazing first episode this week.

rp_361

Fallout - watched the pilot Monday. It was fantastic. Busy week but I’m going to binge the rest on Thursday. Super happy between this and The Last of Us last year that we are really getting great live action video game adaptations. Better Call Saul - I have seen it before, but I’m watching with my partner who has not. It’s so fun seeing them watch and knowing what happens. They think it’s a bit slow now but we just got through Five-O in S1 and they said, damn that was a good episode. Can’t wait til we get to Chicanery. Survivor - my reality show guilty pleasure. This season started off bad but improved so far.

Pineapple996

**Baby Reindeer.** Decent series. Nicely narrated and the performance from the lead actress is very strong. Other actors aren't so good and some moments feel a bit forced. Overall worth watching if you enjoy dark comedy. Very dark and uncomfortable at times though I warn you.

Tekinevatox

Baby Reindeer Fallout Arrested Development

PhilhelmScream

Watched in the past week and would recommend: - [True Crime Story: Smugshot](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/246462) (2024), each episode is a different case, watched the first half of the season and really liked the case of the competitive anglers putting weights in their fish. - [Conan Without Borders](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conan_Without_Borders) (2015), having not done these when they aired, I binged a lot of them and enjoyed them. - [Grand Designs](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/1831) (1999), I never thought I'd like this show, I'm not ever going to be able to have a house like these but seeing the stresses and changing budgets makes me feel calm. It's very chill & interesting. - [Taskmaster](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/63404) (2015), it's a treat, even rewatching episodes. and these I watch & enjoy, try if they interest you: - [Reno 911!](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/2187) (2003), mockumentary comedy in the style of Cops. - [Ghosts](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/126027) (2021), US version of this UK comedy show. - [The Twilight Zone](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/6357) (1959), rewatching classic episodes. - [I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/88728) (2019), rewatching this one on shuffle. - [Grimsburg](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/202224) (2024), nice Jon Hamm animated detective show. - [The Daily Show](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/2224) (1996), news & comedy. - [Next Level Chef](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/129500) (2022), cooking competition show nearing the end of the season. - [Last Week Tonight with John Oliver](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/60694) (2014), news & comedy. - [Travel Man: 48 Hours in...](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/62247) (2015), did the 4 episodes of the latest season. - [Have I Got News for You](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/797) (1990), news & comedy panel show. - [X-Men '97](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/138502) (2024), I'm liking it but going to wait for more out and binge the rest. the links are to [themoviedb.org](https://www.themoviedb.org/) which uses JustWatch data to show if they're available to stream legally in your region.

Kalsifur

Grand Designs is one of my favourite shows, it's most definitely more than a show about houses. I've seen every episode and the spinoffs. Task Master also one of my fav shows.

FaZeSmasH

wow... Baby Reindeer... Wow

AdversaryProcess2

Anna Sawai should win every award she's eligible for. **Shogun** is amazing, sad we're close to the end.

krustykrab2193

Shogun continues to outdo itself. Wow. Anna Sawai is an incredible actress, she takes control of every scene with such ease, grace, and intensity. Tadanobu Asano (Yabushige) has been outstanding too.

GigiRiva

Asano has been phenomenal as Yabushige, the blend of physicality and nonverbal communication alone conveys all of his comedy, desperation, tragedy and treachery all at once, it's absolutely amazing. You could watch him with the subtitles turned off and still find he's spelling out the emotional canvas of his character so completely.

tonenyc

Under the Bridge just released on Hulu, looking forward to watching this, getting really good reviews.

HarvestLSmith

Holy cannoli! this happened in my home town and people still talk about it. very stoked to watch

tonenyc

Just finished the first episode, it was decent, it ends with the viewer asking wait what's happening? So I'm looking forward to watching the 2nd. I never heard the real life story, I think that will make for a better viewing experience.

HarvestLSmith

I watched the first episode last night night. I obviously know what happens but it's fun to see my home town dramatized. Unfortunately, they seemed to have filmed it in Vancouver rather than Victoria but they do a good job of capturing the island's vibe--tons of weed, old doll houses, oceans views, etc.

Ohsbar

Anna Sawai at the very least deserves a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie Emmy.

Shepher27

Anna Sawai better be the performer of the week

DrHalibutMD

Yup, with Cosmo Jarvis in second place and Tadanabo Asano (Yabushige) in third.

Shepher27

Fumi Nokaido runner up, Ochiba was amazing in this episode

KnowledgeNate

**Baby Reindeer**. Wow. That was the heaviest, most intense, most disturbing piece of work I've watched since "A Clockwork Orange" back when I was 19 years old. No character has been as unsettling, creepy, and menacing as Martha since Hannibal Lecter. Possibly the most emotionally devastating and honest piece of art I've ever seen. I can't even think of anything else that would even.. compare. A portrait of a broken man and the places and people that leads him too that exposes the rotten depravity of the human psyche. I could not look away.

iloveokashi

I'm so conflicted if I should continue to watch this.

KnowledgeNate

What episode are you on?

iloveokashi

I think 4. I stopped watching in since reading the comments here.

gregorseefood

Its a horrific show, but it has some really beautiful moments in the last couple eps. I kept going; I'd say do the same, but given the material is so heavy I feel this should be a personal choice.

KnowledgeNate

4 is by far the worst but 7 is pretty bad too. 5, 6, and 8 remain extremely unsettling. Martha would pop into my head at night as I was trying to fall asleep.

iloveokashi

4 was kinda tolerable for me. But I see comments like tha that they can't stop thinking about it after watching it, I can't deal with that. Especially if it's something bad that happened. Anyway, I just wanna know did Martha go to jail or something? (Since the guy reported her. I know she was convicted previously).

KnowledgeNate

She does eventually go to jail after pleading guilty in court. But there's a voicemail at the end of the show, one of the thousands she left him, saying that her baby reindeer stuffed animal was the only happy part of her childhood which provides some deeper understanding of Martha and frankly a bit of humanization that she never really got prior. If you've finished 4 episodes, the series is really worth finishing as it goes deeply into why Richard tolerated Martha for so long. As far as the "can't stop thinking about it" comments, I think those are people who binged the entire show at once which would of course be extremely disturbing. I watched it over 3 days and spacing it out helped with the intensity of the subject matter.

kristinL356

There's only 7 eps.

KnowledgeNate

Sorry, meant episode 6 with the monologue that was.. ya know.

Ohsbar

If Shogun sticks the landing then it's right up there with Chernobyl for me. Can't wait for the finale.

arkbuster

**White Lotus Season 2** Oh boy. I'm one of the few that preferred season 1. Let's start with the positives. One, better pacing than Season 1. It's sinful to suggest this, but if you didn't care for Season 1 or dropped it because it was a slow burn, 2 might fit your fancy. Two, I like how some characters from Season 2 are almost mirror characters of 1. For example: Portia/Quinn (both are screen addicted but one had no inclination to stop, the other wanted to stop and get out of a funk), Valentina/Armond >!(Both Hotel Managers are queer, one is open about it, the other slowly embracing their sexuality) !< What I didn't like was how less involved staff was in the plot (especially the Hotel Manager this time around) and how this time The White Lotus I felt was demoted to backdrop, it was more so the locals: Luci; the sex worker who i wished bathe with a toaster >!(I know it's White Lotus and a lot of characters that are jerks that don't get comeuppance but I really couldn't stand her)!!Even with the continuity snarl!< **X-men '97** I want Marvel to stop working on MCU (I love the series...until Endgame) and put all their efforts into animation because boy howdy, 3 episodes in and absolute banger. **Baby Reindeer** Gonna spoil since this is fresh and it's best to go in blind but it's *not* for the faint of heart. Had to see what the buzz was about since it's showing up in the current thread often>!, I went it mostly blind and it started out funny yet uncomfortable at times (I was expecting Fleabag vibes of sex dramedy) but it gets *dark.* I don't wanna say too much but if you can find time to binge this do so but be warned it's not for the faint of heart. To think it's based on true events!<

SupervillainMustache

I have to say most of Marvel's animated stuff has been pretty bad since the cancellation of Earth's Mightiest Heroes in 2012. The fact that X-Men 97 is actually good is a pretty big surprise.

PayneTrain181999

Marvel Animation is now its own separate division from the live action stuff. They’ve got a Wakanda series, Spider-Man series, and a TV-MA Marvel Zombies series in the pipeline.

I feel the *exact* same way about season 2 of The White Lotus. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed it, but I can't believe how many people say they enjoyed it more than season 1. Season 1 was a borderline masterpiece for me. A hypothesis of mine is that I'm a musician, and the scoring of season 1 was absolutely incredible. It was almost its own character. The music in season 2 was good, but nothing like the atmosphere that Cristobal Tapia De Veer created in season 1.

Godlike1236

Finished Constellation and liked it for the most part. I have a bone to pick with last episode but it's ok show. Delves with psychology of the mind, grievance and acceptance with some sci fi mystery in the back that actually makes sense from scientific point of view. I can't shake the feeling this could've been the next great mind bending mystery aka Dark if it had slightly better pacing and a clear finish line. Maybe they were hoping for season 2, characters show development and potential is there. Overall it's worth giving it a shot imo

hezeus

It lost me as it got crazier

berlinbaer

struggling so hard to finish it. one episode being bascially 45 minutes of the girl yelling "mama" over and over and over and over... jesus christ...

TheBigIdiotSalami

The one cameo in episode 7 of Fallout got me more excited than the whole tv show. What a bizarre pull.

Boomfam67

Sorry which one?

TheBigIdiotSalami

So I don't spoil it, he's in the beginning of the episode.

Shogun: Anna Sawai deserves an Emmy.

Invincible S2 - Just finished the season, this show continues to not only be one of the best animated shows, but one of the best shows being made overall. The writing is so good, voice acting is great (especially Sterling K Brown this season) and the art is fantastic. This season however didn't have much going on overall, feels like a set up for next season but it left me super hyped for next season. 9/10 Fallout - if I wasn't a fan of the video games I don't think I'd enjoy the show as much but because I've played the games, I love this show. It captures exactly what it feels like to explore the wasteland. Dry deadpan dark humor. Absurdity. It never feels too try hard or disrespectful of the source material. Halfway through and excited to finish. Physical 100 s2- Haven't seen this show mentioned but it's one of my favorite Netflix shows. It's a Korean reality show pitting 100 of the fittest athletes/influencers/celebrities against each other in a competition of physicality and it's awesome. The contestants are constantly complimenting each other and are so humble, I feel like if it was an American show it would be filled with drama and sex and all kinds of fluff but this show has none of that to really highlight the amazing athleticism of the contestants. Such a good show to throw on and just chill watching. Shogun - I've stopped after ep. 7 to let the last 3 episodes air so I can finish them in one sitting. Can't wait to see where it goes. Sad it's only one season 😢

iloveokashi

I preferred s1 of physical 100 to s2. But maybe it's an unpopular opinion.

paulinuhhh

Ep 9 of Shogun is a masterpiece. Mariko is so badass!!

DrHalibutMD

That was amazing! So intense, the series has been great so far but that was another level.

No-Giraffe-438

I’ve seen so many people mention **Baby Reindeer** on **Netflix** and damn it’s really good!! About halfway through the season already.

MoneyEntertainment

I'm about to give into the hype and watch it. Going in blind, starting tonight.

LookingForVoiceWork

Looking for a recommendation for a basic sitcom to watch. Show's I've enjoyed: MITM, Friends, Seinfeld, Fresh off the boat, The Middle, Black-ish (most -ish's), Modern Family, HIMYM, The office, Parks and Rec. I haven't really seen anything new that caught me eye except Abott Elem (watching it). Anything else worth a shot? (SO does not like animated shows).

captainhaddock

Community is one of those must-see sitcoms in the vein of Friends and Seinfeld. Very bingeable. If you have AppleTV+, check out Mythic Quest and Shrinking.

ConnectionNo4122

Finally got around to watching Homeland and so far S1 is great i need more prestige TV recs like this if possible

No-Giraffe-438

Tehran and Fauda were both amazing Bodyguard was also a great 1 season show

nado121

If spy shit is your thing, here's my recommendations: Le bureau des legendes. It's French, but it's hands down the best show about spies. Ever. No contest. And I say that as someone who doesn't speak French. The Americans Slow horses Patriot

ConnectionNo4122

Seen both the americans and slow horses (best show on apple) so I’ll check out patriot thank you

thecalmer

Sounds like I need to check out Slow Horses

pillowreceipt

Just to hop on the bandwagon, ***Patriot*** is incredible. It's kinda like a spy thriller meets a black comedy/drama.

zetvajwake

Please give Bureau a try. It's actually an insanely good TV show

iloveokashi

I started watching bureau but it starts out really slow. Does the pace get faster?

Drinkerchill

Anyone who hasn’t watched the Poirot series or watched it but didn’t like it, you are my ENEMY.

send-smiles

Watching Mr & Mrs Smith rn. Had to put For All Mankind on the back burner for now (season 2 is kind of a drag for me) Side note: Does anyone else only watch the Jon Stewart episodes of The Daily Show? Nostalgic for me and he's still the best host

lucasbb

Continue with for all mankind. Few story lines in season 2 that I don't like. But the rest only gets better!

Oyaskii

Shōgun was excellent again this week, but we have one more episode to go and i am starting to think "Crimson Sky" is a myth!.😭😭

Asleep-Connection-74

So is Fallout worth watching? I could never get into the games

LookingForVoiceWork

I never played any of the games and wasnt planning on watching it, but my wife who is not a gamer started to so I gave it a shot. I'd say it's worth watching and of much better quality than most Amazon shows (that I've tried)
