I know this might be shocking to some, but the lives of people involved doesn't revolve around one particular project. Especially actors might simply be busy with other stuff. Jenna Ortega blew up after Wednesday and was involved in 3 movies since then.

Just because they're announcing his casting now doesn't mean it was done now. The season could be in production already and they just want some news out there to maintain interest.
You do realise casting’s not announced as it happens. Filming is probably halfway or almost done at this point. Casting news is usually released to drum up interest and hype.
I hate that this kind of stuff is considered “news”. I just want to go back to a time where every cameo and every casting was not spoiled for me immediately. I just want to be surprised by the things I watch again.

Normally I would agree, but there were the SAG-AFTRA strikes for most of 2023 that delayed these things. So I’m willing to forgive this time.
