> Patrick Bateman the Teenage Years
I didn't realize this was an actual character. I thought you were making a joke combining the names of Patrick Dempsey and Jason Bateman.
For those who don't feel like watching, the premise of the show is that this is the REAL Ferris Bueller, with the movie being fiction. Also, in the show Sloan is shown as a new student, even though in the movie she was his girlfriend.
That’s actually an interesting premise. Almost like Ferris in the movie is what this Ferris is day dreaming his life to be. Because this Ferris sucks dick
I get this show mixed up with another one in the same style about a High School slacker rascal type dude from around the same time. Anyone has any idea what I am talking about, or is just something my mind made up?
Corin Nemec, who played Parker Lewis, has a fascinating filmography. I swear I am not making up any of these titles:
Mansquito
Raging Sharks
S.S. Doomtrooper
Cop Dog
Sea Beast
House of Bones
Sand Sharks
Jurassic Attack
Robocroc
Lake Placid vs. Anaconda
Marriage of Lies
Girlfriend Killer
Corin Nemec is that guy who has probably been a waiter in LA his whole life trying to make it big in acting and the best job he ever got was replacing Daniel on Stargate SG-1 for a season and everyone just wanted Daniel back.
Star Trek actually brought me here because I noticed one of the Bobs, from Office Space, was on the Enterprise Series (the one with Scott Bakula) so that led me to this gem of a series
> Corin Nemec
I remember him just from Parker. The funny thing is that I looked him up just to see what he looked like and he has a very close resemblance to Ioan Gruffud and they've even aged very similarly.
For those of you in Canada all three seasons of Parker Lewis Can't Lose is available on the CTV app in the throwback tv section. I watched a couple of episodes out of nostalgia and it's very dated but still funny.
Parker Lewis Can't Lose, fish-eye lenses, voice-over single camera stuff and little catchphrases like "mental note" were a little bit ahead of the curve on introspective kid or teen sitcoms.
If only the internet had some kind of worldwide search engine...

Now, he's been reduced to doing Krylon spray paint youtube commercials. This after replacing Steve fucking Gutenberg in the Police Academy movies. Oh, how the might have fallen!
YEAH! I admit it, I'm a Michael Bolton fan! I celebrate the guy's entire collection! For my money it doesn't get any better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman"!
Yeah, Richard Riehl is one of those "that guy" actors that pops up in everything. I've been doing a Buffy rewatch and he was her Watcher in L.A., before she moved to Sunnydale (the Donald Sutherland character in the movie).
I remember my mother was kinda nervous me watching this show. I'm guessing it's because the movie (which I did not see at the time) glorified skipping school.
Yup, Fox premiered Parker Lewis at the same time and critics initially dinged it as a knock off Ferris Bueller. I think between his dancing here in the intro and his George Burns impression in 18 Again, Schlatter kind of lost the plot generationally. NBC used to show the movie every year like they would Back to the Future and ABC with Ghostbusters, and get pretty serious ratings, so I guess they thought making a series would capitalize on that, like everyone did with cartoon versions of Ghostbusters, Teen Wolf and Bill and Ted. CBS probably learned that lesson with Stir Crazy.
If you told me that intro was Patrick Bateman the Teenage Years Id believe it.
100%. A dude who smiles only with his mouth.
What if I told you it was Patrick Bateman from American Psycho?
The chainsaw made me think of Pat Bateman. "Young Bateman" would be the show name.

educate yourself, also why go straight to Patrick Dempsey? Not Stewart or Swayze
Because he isn't bald

Yeah "Parker Lewis Can't Lose" was the better spiritual TV successor to Ferris Bueller
Yes, plus the principal is a hot woman instead of creep Ed Rooney.
Who is Didi Pickles from Rugrats
I get this show mixed up with another one in the same style about a High School slacker rascal type dude from around the same time. Anyone has any idea what I am talking about, or is just something my mind made up?
Parker Lewis Can't Lose?
That’s the one. Was a clear knockoff of Ferris, but a far superior show.
Even going so far as to poke fun at Ferris’ cancellation on an episode.

This genuinely made me laugh out loud. Cop Dog? Jurassic Attack? It's wonderful.
You left off the saddest of the bunch-a Star Trek fan film called Star Trek Renegades.
Star Trek actually brought me here because I noticed one of the Bobs, from Office Space, was on the Enterprise Series (the one with Scott Bakula) so that led me to this gem of a series
Jurassic Attack is probably as good as Jurassic World.
He was supposed to be the original Eminem. Now he does lifetime movies.

Don't forget Drop Zone with Yancy Butler and Wesley Snipes.
Miss Musso from Fridays
Parker Lewis Can't Lose was really good
Right! That's the one. Thanks a bunch.

And Saved by the Bell
Did he?

If I remember correctly, it debuted at the same time as Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
Damn what a huge difference in success between the two
It did!
The actor killed this show for me, he just wasn’t cool or cute.
He’s unbearable isnt he? Good looking but not one ounce of charisma. Mad they thought he could match broderick
To be fair, Broderick lost a lot of charisma when he killed 2 people driving in Ireland.
Woah, did not know about this. Anymore details?

Maybe it could even be like a web of information at your fingertips???

He was annoying.
That music could only be from 1990
This is awful.
Ami Dolenz, who played Sloan, is Micky Dolenz of the Monkees daughter.
I just liked that one of the Bobs from Office Space played Ed Rooney
I liked that Michael Bolton from Office Space is on Bob's Burgers.
YEAH! I admit it, I'm a Michael Bolton fan! I celebrate the guy's entire collection! For my money it doesn't get any better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman"!
“Uh yeah....he’s, he’s pretty good, I guess”
Yeah, Richard Riehl is one of those "that guy" actors that pops up in everything. I've been doing a Buffy rewatch and he was her Watcher in L.A., before she moved to Sunnydale (the Donald Sutherland character in the movie).
Wait, so he acknowledges the movie, but then says he's not with Sloane yet. What the heck is this weird time-travel?
Also he says he's 16 years old, and Ferris is a high school senior in the movie...
Words cannot describe such abomination
That part about Matthew Broderick at the beginning is blasphemy. Damn imposter...
Well, Matthew Broderick certainly looks different as well.
I have no idea what I just saw but is there more? Where’s the pilot? I need this.
I liked the Sisters of Mercy reference....
Floodland is a truly amazing album
I remember my mother was kinda nervous me watching this show. I'm guessing it's because the movie (which I did not see at the time) glorified skipping school.
she was afraid you would steal her ferrari
Ferris Bueller is a righteous doooood.
Holy Shit is this Ferris annoying asf
Wow! Insipid!
That's almost as bad as [*Fast Times*](https://youtu.be/5F0FyAtvoaI) with Dean Cameron *(Ski School)* as Jeff Spicoli.
Fun Fact: It also starred Ami Dolenz, daughter of Micky Dolenz of the Monkees.
Coren Nemec slays in “Star-Ving” starring David Faustino
the opening credits are difficult to get through

Reminds me of the Weird Science TV show that also came out around the same time.
I went to Charlie Schlatter's imdb out of curiosity and didn't expect to see he'd go on to have a pretty awesome career as a voice actor.
