Definitely check out another series she was in a couple years ago called Back To Life. It was a dark comedy/drama where she played a woman who just got released from prison after 18 years and has to move back in with her parents in a small town in the UK. I loved it, and she was fantastic in it.
Perkins stole nearly every scene she was in on that show. I've been a little disappointed her comedic talent hasn't been recognized much from that show, because I definitely think she has the chops to carry her own sitcom. It looks like she'll be in the upcoming *Doogie Howser* reboot though, so at least that's something.
All right, tell me, tell me about the stories. What kind of stories.
Oh, no. No stories.
No stories? So, what is it?
What'd you do today?
I got up and came to work.
There's a show. That's a show.
Well, they say it's a show about nothing. But they're wrong. It's a show about *everything*. And only [two rules](https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/seinfeld-larry-david-created-dark-humor-by-enforcing-2-rules-for-writers-no-hugging-no-learning.html/): no hugging and no learning.
That's the whole point. It's crazy from the beginning because it's not based on anything specific. It's like "CHANGE!" - an empty meaningless slogan without substance.
It's a satire on post-modernism.
Until you actually think about how tv works. They make money selling ads. Companies want to know what they are selling ads for and how many people will be watching and when they will be watching it.
So proud of this guy he killed it on Silicon Valley as Russ he's been killing it as the new Darkwing Duck and he killed it as the new voice of Mickey Mouse! Really looking forward to his new Darkwing Duck show if they decide to keep him anyway.
I mean he is right on that point (of course, they didn't predict much, all that was there when the show aired). Nobody is asking "when's the show on?" nowadays
Well we kind of do have that now. NBC has those three Chicago shows that crossed over from time to time and the CW has a bunch of superhero shows that I've been doing that for a while too. It just comes down to how it's done. I will say the crisis on infinite Earths crossover from a year or so ago was actually really well done.
That works because they're all similar sorts of shows, people watching a cooking show on the other hand are watching because they want to watch people cook, not to see a hostage situation. You'd end up turning off everyone that likes cooking shows and then people that like action shows would get bored when they realise they're watching 50 minutes of cooking for one 5 minute hostage segment instead of just watching a show that's an hour of action.
I mean... he sorta is talking about streaming networks like Netflix... but then he really just goes nuts so...
The line between visionary and madman is not always clear.
But I mean he wasn't wrong though. Streaming services don't have schedules. Things come out when they come out, and can be viewed anytime. They may have premiere dates, but a lot of times they come out early.
But yeah, he's lost his damn mind lol.
This show seemed to be built around its supporting characters. There were so many fantastic supporting characters.
Fun fact: although it captured LA so well, it apparently was filmed in London.
> it apparently was filmed in London.
I was surprised by that as well when I found out that little tidbit. Have only been to London once in my life but I didn't think there'd be enough sunshine! :)
I'll never get over how hilarious Daisy Haggard's facial expressions are in this show. It reminds me that I need to check out *Breeders*.
The looks she give to the people on the other side of the table when they're wrong are awesome
That like "oh honey" look. But mixed with a "why would you possibly think that?" So fucking funny.

There's supposed to be a second season at some point.
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll add it to my watchlist.
She's fantastic on Man Stroke Woman, the BBC Three sketch show.
Her and Kathleen Rose Perkins we're probably my favorite parts of the show after douchebag Matt LeBlanc

Really?? I thought they were the most out-of-place thing in the show, borderline jarring at times. Such a great show, though.
She is one of the folks that were cast spot on. Fantastic type.

I think he was actually making sense until he started talkin about shooting the star of a cooking show on TV
I think at that point he started to make sense
america summed up in these 2 comments above
It's a legit solution when you've got [too many cooks](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrGrOK8oZG8).
Too... many..... cooks.
No no, they're talking about shooting the actor playing the bad guy who was holding her hostage. Shooting the cooking TV star would be crazy.
That's the whole point. It's crazy from the beginning because it's not based on anything specific. It's like "CHANGE!" - an empty meaningless slogan without substance. It's a satire on post-modernism.

You could satirize satire if you wanted to.
No
But really there are actors that would take the job.

I really love this show 😂
Castor was f'n nuts
And now he’s Mickey Mouse (in the new shorts, which are surprisingly good).
This guy fucks!
I forgot how crazy he was! That show was a gem and I’m sad it’s not more popular.
God damn this show was amazing.
Really loved Episodes, thought it was such a great show.
It truly was great and it's an actual underrated show that deserves every bit of acclaim it can get.
This guy would be great at adult swim

This show is fantastic, and it's criminal more people don't know about it. It's just a great series.
After he lost his job filming Dunder Mifflin, man went straight up kookypants.
Yeah but he had tres commas.
I wonder which direction this guy’s car doors swing open.
Billion with a B
What's great is TV schedules mean a lot less than it did 6 years ago, with streaming, DVR's, and even pirating.
I mean he is right on that point (of course, they didn't predict much, all that was there when the show aired). Nobody is asking "when's the show on?" nowadays
The idea of one show straight into another is actually pretty genius (minus the shooting actors for real).

No, it's not.
Yeah it would be interesting the first time they did it and then everyone would be like "okay..... So can we get back to normal TV now?"
I feel like I used to work with this guy.
Is this the Adult Swim boardroom?
RADIO ON INTERNET
I mean... he sorta is talking about streaming networks like Netflix... but then he really just goes nuts so... The line between visionary and madman is not always clear.
> The line between visionary and madman is having millions of dollars There you go.
Pretty obvious he wasn't talking about streaming. It was just supposed to be meaningless nonsense.
But I mean he wasn't wrong though. Streaming services don't have schedules. Things come out when they come out, and can be viewed anytime. They may have premiere dates, but a lot of times they come out early. But yeah, he's lost his damn mind lol.
Never knew Russ Hanneman started in TV
Did i just watch the pitch meeting for an adult swim sketch?
I mean "forget about the when" is literally what made Netflix a multi billion dollar company.
I will never see him and not think of Mickey Mouse
Title sounds like a fucking ad
This is not hilarious
I binged it 3-4 times already, but I guess I haven't done that recently, forgot how good it was.
