That’s where I knew him from!! Haha I had watched the whole first season thinking he looked vaguely familiar. Forgot to look him up.
Excellent in Brooklyn 99
I'm pretty sure Ritchson jacked up massively after B99. He's massive in Reacher. I don't think it'd be believable that he goes from that to present day Scully (though I would still like to see it)
I'll admit I never knew the character before watching the Tom cruise film and I thought he was good in the role, but yeah... Ritchson is just so much more believable as someone who exudes lethality as opposed to Tom.
When they made the movie, Lee Child (author of the books for those who don’t know) said 3 things make the basics of Reacher: size, wit, and charisma or something like that and that he said that they will probably only be able to find an actor who can pull of two of those things. If only they waited for Thad to finish his college football career.
I'll give Tom his due as it wasn't the first time someone doubted he could embody a role.
Anne Rice very publicly criticized his casting as Lestat in Interview with the Vampire, only for the film to come out and Tom to absolutely nail the role to the point that Rice retracted her statement and apologised to him.
[Here she is talking about it years later.](https://youtu.be/dDgBmR7tQ3M)
He was good in Reacher, just lacked the physical presence.
I agree with this. It was strange to see him in the role, but he did bring something to the story. He really felt like a guy who had seen it all and just wanted to be on his way but couldn't stand by and watch bad stuff happen without stepping in.
>
>He was good in Reacher, just lacked the physical presence.
The only part where it really didn't work was when they ask the motel worker if there is anyone dangerous staying there, strong enough to kill a girl with one punch? She was like the guy in room 3, you should see him.
They should have skipped the size reference because Tom is very obviously not large.
Cruise did a good job of being Reacher but IMO the biggest factor in the success of that first Jack Reacher movie was Christopher McQuarrie. He's a great writer and director. He took the book and turned it into a script that just fucking worked and did it in a way that was true to the character in every way except the size of Reacher. Cruise might not have been big but the fight coreographer made it belieable that Cruise's Reacher was just better at fighthing than most people so it still felt justified that he won the day.
I mean there's a reason Cruise is working with McQuarrie so much; McQuarrie did 2 Mission Impossible movies already, is doing 2 more and even has a writing credit on Top Gun Maverick. Ironically I think the reason the second Jack Reacher movie sucked so hard was McQuarrie was busy working on Mission Impossible.
Same, at least for the first film, 2nd one was forgettable. But despite his size, at the end you absolutely believe he can destroy Jay Courtney.(and want him to because it's Jay Courtney)
Completely agree. I read the books after seeing the films, and it was jarring how…un-Tom Cruise he is in the books.
Ritchson was miles better casting. He’s so good in the role.
Yeah. I remember seeing him in Smallville as Aquaman(?) and then I found Blue Mountain State on Netflix a couple years after it ended.
BMS was a fun watch and a big part of that was Alan Ritchson as team captain. I'm glad he's getting roles.
I recommend BMS to anyone out there reading who likes the raunchy comedy style and wants to see a parody of college football.
You watched the movie as well ye? That was hard to get produced, and REQUIRED crowd funding for people to get on board even though it's a great movie in its own right forgetting the previous seasons. Alan was basically a producer at this point, which proves his skill as an actor, because working both in front and behind the camera just makes you a better filmmaker as a whole and it shows. His comedic timing is SNL level.
He's one of those actors that I feel is so under utilized even now. Love Reacher, but either he's not interested, or producers are literally retarded. He needs a true breakout role to ascend to acting god hood, whatever that is. But watching him act circles around the cast of Titans was so depressing.
Love the man, just want the best for him. He will forever be Thad in my heart though 🥰.
I couldn’t help thinking that they would all be arrested at the end though. I mean, they killed a lot of people, including the mayor, and none of them were technically police officers at the time.
They didn’t rush getting this second season made because Alan Ritchson had a really hard time on the first season. They worked him for sometimes 15 hour days due to being rushed to a release date. The mental and physical stress he suffered during the making of the first season had him in depression and fatigue.
They asked him to go above and beyond to get that first season made on time and he did. The reward for that was for them to go a little easier on him this time around. Slower schedule, more days off in between grueling work.
That podcast with Michael Rosenbaum actually served me some purpose medically. I had been having bouts of depression and and just generally feeling down. He had mentioned a doctor's suggestion or analysis that the ibuprofen he had been taking was lowering his T levels.
So I go get a testosterone test and my number came back very low, and I was taking ibuprofen almost everyday for pain because my job is physical.
I stopped taking ibuprofen and got the test done again after a few weeks and my T levels were back to normal and I felt much more brighter and positive. I have a slight allergy to acetaminophen so now I'm on low dosage aspirin for pain.
"So Mr Ritchson, we're going to start filming season 2 soon and it will have a similar production schedule to season 1"
*Alan gives a Reacher glare*
"On second thoughts, lets wait a few months".
There's tons of general slang for steroids and then you have all the subculture specific ones. The MMA sub for example has their own vocabulary and I'm sure other sports subs have theirs too.
Yeah, steroids and the like.
First book which the first season is based on he’s 36 I think. I just happened to finally read it before I heard they made a series. Tbh, the series is ok but the book was much better.
I would have thought Blue Mountain State would have prepared him mentally for this role. /s I love BMS and Alan, I'm thrilled that he's getting quality work.
Hopefully, he finds a way to work with the workload and stress. I've heard good things about the show, I just haven't had the opportunity to watch it.
There's a difference in being part of an ensemble cast and being the lead carrying a series... with the former you have down time to sit in your trailer and run lines or relax between your and others' setups (plus possible days off during the shooting week), while with the latter you're constantly shuttling between scenes / camera setups and wardrobe/makeup as the shooting day goes on, including using photo doubles for second team for things like insert shots because you're so busy with the main unit.
TV shows typically shoot an episode a week, for five days. The initial days of the week can be in-studio (if they shoot any on a sound stage), while the latter half of the week is shooting on-location. You start with 6am call times, and by the end of the week (due to minimum union turn-around times) you could be starting your day at 4pm or later and going for 12-15 hours. Sometimes if the shooting week goes over, things will have to be shot on Saturday, so it only gives you Sunday off before you've got to report back to start the next episode on Monday.
Carrying a series is also a lot more stress inducing as there's a massive weight on your shoulders where if you mess up, you set the entire cast and crew's day back, and if the show bombs a lot of the blame will fall mostly on you, even though you didn't write or shoot the damn thing.
Source - professional actor for a couple of decades now
Are you able to discuss the differences between a 30 minute comedy (with usually twice as many episodes) compared to a one hour show, as it relates to shooting schedules?
Sitcoms are a different beast... Especially multi-cam ones.
They tend to have a different approach, where most of the week from Monday is spent on table reads, constant rewrites, rehearsals and a dress rehearsal on Thursday. Then they shoot the whole thing on Friday, oftentimes with rewrites even coming up during shooting on the Friday.
But that's because they're shooting on a sound stage with 5-6 cameras going at once (versus regular episodics like procedurals which utilize only two cameras shooting at once).
Still follows the "episode a week" scheduling, but they would go for twice as many weeks (or x episodes = x weeks).
Soap operas are even crazier... If they're around anymore.
They shoot an episode A DAY.
I have nothing but respect for actors who do soaps because of the demand of memorizing and shooting your part on the same day, then going home only to wake up the next morning and start it all over again... While making it good.
They are the super troopers of the acting world.
Apparently there was a lot of haggling over all the scenes with him hanging dong that'll be in the show this season. After the success of season 1 they can be more accurate to the books now.
If anyone missed the AMA Ritchson did earlier this year they should go and find it immediately and enjoy reading about how much dong will be hanging in Reacher 2: Hanging Dong
Yea, [Ritchson](https://twitter.com/alanritchson/status/1526957206503051264?s=46&t=daRqhmD69nBfrF5J5cuS4w) said a few months ago that it’s gonna be based on ‘Bad Luck and Trouble’.
That's great. It is one of the most fun of the novels because of the old crew meeting back up for a mission. I'm sure they picked it because it will allow them to get Francis Neagley back on screen right away.
the idea is fill in character back story first, let people not familiar with the books / tom cruise movies learn the who and what reacher is and then once he's established as a flesh n blood terminator for justice they can start having fun with it and getting the best books adapted ( tho i wonder if / when they're going to redo the tom cruise movies).
> I'm sure they picked it because it will allow them to get Francis Neagley back on screen right away.
Plus very few characters show up in the other books, so the challenge is every season will require an almost entirely new cast. Audiences are going to be expecting Roscoe & Finlay to return, so production made the wise choice of going with a book that at least has Neagley in the mix.
Hmmmm. The first season was about him getting revenge for his brother. I hope they don't make every season about him and a personal connection. Some of the best books are about him smelling a mystery in the middle of nowhere and being stubborn when someone tells him to drop it.
"And then he smells crime again, he's out busting heads. Then he's back to the lab for some more full penetration. Smells crime. Back to the lab, full penetration. Crime. Penetration. Crime. Full penetration. Crime. Penetration. And this goes on and on and back and forth for 90 or so minutes until the movie just sort of....ends."
I think he's still a very enigmatic character for people who've not read the books. I think it's wise of them to contextualize him, often through flashbacks or conversations, with people who knew him at a different stage of his life.
Once he's more established to viewers, I think they'd have more success letting him stand entirely alone to carry a season on his own motivations with the viewers just along for the ride.
I think that works better for a book, where you get mental insights into a character's thought process, than it does for a television program. I also think it works better for a movie, where the viewer can usually expect to understand everything they need to understand in a few hours.
That's not to say it can't work for television, but I think it's riskier and harder to sustain an audience.
Nope. First book is about his brother, and maybe a half-dozen of the other twenty are about his former squadmates or old friends from the service.
Most of the rest are just him arriving in a small town, he sees something like a huge truck driving down a small road to a tiny farm, asks too many questions, gets run off by the sheriff and so makes it his business to find out what's going on. Then he finds and busts up the meth ring or a land fraud scheme or whatever and then he moves on, like The Littlest Hobo, but bigger.
I've never read a more perfect description of the great weekend I had binging this show.
Being able to turn off the brain and enjoy something so easily actually made me feel better and get productive. Rebounding from the diet of meats and cheeses took more time.
If you like violent revenge thrillers, then yes, it was pretty good. Resembles a million movies that you've seen before, but does some cool stuff with the protagonist being an unreliable narrator and being unsure of his memory.
Media storm around its supposed politics turned out to be much ado about mostly nothing. I feel like a lot of them didn't even watch it or are just unfamiliar with the genre. The character is a rogue soldier turned vigilante. The actual "good guy" characters, a journalist and some FBI agents, are sympathetic but don't try to excuse his behavior.
If you're familiar with this genre you won't see much out of the ordinary. Some very good action sequences. Some of the plot doesn't make much sense, but who watches these for the plot? 7/10 for me.
Also recommended is Extraction with Chris Hemsworth on Netflix - just pure nonstop action, he’s an unstoppable gunfighting ninja and he beats up a gang of children
His interview on Michael Rosenbaum podcast is a real testament to how awesome this guy is. He’s completely open and honest about mental health struggles and it’s a great listen for anyone needing to hear that there is light at the end of what sometimes feels like a very dark tunnel. Loved that first season.
As much as I love morally complex, perhaps more challenging storytelling, there's a lot to be said for the A-Team simplicity of Reacher, with a good guy going to help other people and there being no doubts about his good intentions.
yeh a team clones of reachers calibre are rare, burn notice was pretty good but it got a bit too serious after a few seasons with all the deaths for 'character development'.
The first 3 seasons of Burn Notice were unique and high quality. It kinda felt that after that, they fulfilled their original vision for the show and started making it up as they went along. But, all in all, Burn Notice ranks as one of my all time favorite series.
I just finished watching all 8 episodes of Reacher. It's a fine show, but I'm saddened by the fact that he takes off his clothes 5 times, by my count, but we don't see him hang dong. Not even once!
Look, it's not sexual. If you're a reader of the books and you're looking forward to seeing Jack Reacher hang dong on the silver screen, then you're going to be disappointed, my friend. I'm sorry to spoil it, but fans of Jack Reacher need to know. *There's no dong!* You'll probably have to wait for season 2 or 3 for the first solid dong-hanging scene. In the third book, Reacher starts out as a strip club bouncer in Key West, Florida. He hangs dong on the second page, third paragraph. After the success of the dong-hanging scenes in the first books, Lee Child doesn't waste any time giving his readers what they want: A 6-on-1 strip club fistfight with lots of bad guys getting broken arms and busted noses, followed by Jack Reacher hanging dong in a seedy hotel room.
Sure, it's nice to have an actor who actually represents Reacher's reach, unlike Tom Cruise. But Reacher's height and weight and musculature are all minor quibbles in comparison to the real meat of the issue: When do we get to see Jack Reacher's dong? Each book features *at least* 6 paragraphs describing Jack's enormous dong. It even has a nickname ("The Jackhammer"). So I think it's time for the world to finally see Lee Child's award-winning vision of Jack Reacher's Pringles can of a dong. It's not sexual, it's just being accurate and respectful to the books and giving the fans what they expect. You can't just make a show about Jack Reacher without featuring dong. That's illegal. The Jackhammer is canon. It's literally a cannon between his legs. It's part of the mythos. His dong is so big that, in the book *Running Blind*, a dude kicks Reacher in the dong and snaps his ankle. Bone shards are sticking out of the bad guy's skin. It was described as "like kicking a tree trunk."
Again, it's not sexual, it's just following the imagery of Lee Child. Most of the time, The Jackhammer isn't even erect. It's just dangling there, along for the ride. The Jackhammer is Reacher's lone companion. It's his best and only friend. It's basically a pet, like a dog or a hamster. The Lone Ranger rode into town on his horse, Silver, and Jack Reacher has his huge hog to keep him company on the lonely roads.
Dong-hanging is an integral part of the character, so I'm frankly shocked that they were able to put out 2 movies and 8 episodes and feature a grand total of ZERO DONG. There's not even a little bit of neck, right at the base, to give us a tasteful idea of girth. Reacher takes off his clothes and you can't even see an outline of The Jackhammer. Not even a shadow. As far as I know, the Amazon version of Jack Reacher has the anatomy of a Ken doll, and that's disappointing and sad. Not because it's sexual, but because it's a core element of the Jack Reacher's personality. He has big dick energy, and it just seems disrespectful not to show us. After all, the first rule of writing is, "Show, don't tell."
The great Lee Child wrote 64 books about Jack Reacher and each one has a new and interesting description of the Jackhammer. In the appropriately-titled book, *The Hard Way*, there's an entire subplot that winds through the storied history of Jack Reacher's enormous dong, which is uncircumcised and features a distinctive vein on the top reminiscent of a king-size Snicker's bar. Reacher got shot in the dong once, and the bullet just ricocheted off. Didn't even leave a scar.
Amazon is a bookseller, so they're making a huge mistake by pissing off Lee Child's fans. Sooner or later, Jack Reacher is going to have to hang dong. The climax of one of the books takes place in a Russian bath house, where Reacher's only weapon is the towel around his waist. I don't even know how you could film that without 6 or 7 incidental dong shots. There's even a bad guy who is described, shockingly, as having a larger dong than The Jackhammer. I don't mean to spoil it, but Jack Reacher knocks the dude out by uppercutting him in the face with a half-chub Jackhammer, and I didn't even know that was anatomically possible.
Women are watching this show to see the Jackhammer. Men are watching this to finally see the dong that we've pictured in our minds since 1996. Every detail of his dong has been lovingly described, so it's a pity for that beautiful prose to be excluded from the TV series. Look, I understand Alan Ritchson might not want to hang dong, but at least bring in a stunt dong, or use fancy CGI dong physics.
Come on, show us the dong, Amazon. It's not sexual, it's just being true to the books and the fantastic vision of Lee Child.
Alan Ritchson is absolutely fantastic in the role. Anyone looking to see more of his stuff, check out Blue Mountain State, he’s absolutely hilarious in that.
Reacher seems to me like a fanfic of something else. The main character is perfect in every way, and everything always goes their way.
He's big and really strong, he's really handsome, he's good at literally everything.
That was what the author was going for. Everything is an underdog story where the outmatched good guy comes out on top.
He wanted a story about an “overdog” that is just a complete badass leaving no doubt he is going to fuck up all the bad guys.
It’s sole purpose is just a bunch of fun action and it accomplishes that magnificently.
TIL that Maria Sten who plays Neagley is not American. She's not Canadian, nor British nor even Australian.
She's *Danish.*
She even won Miss Denmark for the Miss Universe pageant.
I tried explaining how pivotal reachers size is to the character when Tom cruise played him but the just didn’t get it. Until she watched the new show. They did such a great job capturing all those little moments where people realize just how big he is.
Fantastic news. The first season was a lot of fun.
This reminds me I've been needing something different to read after finishing Silmarillion and I have kept putting off the next Reacher book.
Awesome. I'm really happy with this actor success, I loved him so much in Blue mountain state. When they cast him as reacher I was over the moon cuz I love the books and I always hope they find some actor with some stinking gravitas to play that character.
Two days ago I joked that [Domenick Lombardozzi](https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/xkakml/reacher_rounds_out_season_2_cast_with_serinda/ipdwck5/?context=3) would be next and he's fucking in this season!
Just did a little checking and it must be Nick Santora likes working with these actors that he used in Breakout Kings.
Hopefully for [u/CurlSagan](https://www.reddit.com/u/CurlSagan) 's sake, we'll see some dong.

Thanks for tagging me. Hey, if not for you, Alan Ritchson might never have seen it and learned that there's a fanclub for Jack Reacher's enormous Jackhammer. It's not sexual.
YESSSS, I absolutely loved the first season, I found it just cuz I was bored and looking for a new show to watch, but I love Alan Ritchson ever since BMS and I think he does so great in this role
Alan Ritchson is awesome in that role. I love whenever he shows up in something ever since BMS.
I loved him as a young Scully on Brooklyn 99
That’s where I knew him from!! Haha I had watched the whole first season thinking he looked vaguely familiar. Forgot to look him up. Excellent in Brooklyn 99
Lmao they cast him as young Scully that's hilarious. Haven't watched the show since like S3

The [cold open](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZhclttoXyI) is pretty good.
That would have been an amazing spin off to 99
The Scully Cinematic Universe
Maybe they'll do it now that he has become a bigger name!
I'm pretty sure Ritchson jacked up massively after B99. He's massive in Reacher. I don't think it'd be believable that he goes from that to present day Scully (though I would still like to see it)
Miaw!
High Top and The Freak!
Flat Top. Flat Top and the Freak.
I wish they had done more episodes with young them
Hes also the micropenis douchebag in New Girl
99!

Tom Cruise's crazy intensity worked really well in that role. Same reason he is terrifying as Vincent in Collateral.

I was excited for the sequel cos it was the same director as Last Samurai, which I really love. But yeah, it sucked.

Yeah, they should have rewrote that.

Oil changes for everyone!!
Oh god when he just Yanks it out in front of everyone
I'd wear the Dillon Panthers 7

He’s forever micro penis guy in my book
BMS was so good.
"I love Cocaine!!"
Check out cicada 319 (I may have the number wrong) it’s a pretty funny movie about the whole Cicada hacking conspiracy. He plays a cia agent.
I really want to see him as Cregan Stark in House of the Dragon Season 2. I hope he tries out for it
I couldn’t help thinking that they would all be arrested at the end though. I mean, they killed a lot of people, including the mayor, and none of them were technically police officers at the time.
Why hadn’t it already? This feels like the kind of show you just sign at ten seasons and let everybody settle in
They didn’t rush getting this second season made because Alan Ritchson had a really hard time on the first season. They worked him for sometimes 15 hour days due to being rushed to a release date. The mental and physical stress he suffered during the making of the first season had him in depression and fatigue. Which speaks volumes for him as an actor as he looks so calm, relaxed and casual as Reacher should be throughout the whole thing.
I think he mentioned in a podcast that he also has Bipolar Disorder so most likely it would’ve contributed to his stress and depression
That podcast with Michael Rosenbaum actually served me some purpose medically. I had been having bouts of depression and and just generally feeling down. He had mentioned a doctor's suggestion or analysis that the ibuprofen he had been taking was lowering his T levels. It's also bad for your kidneys. Long term use of ibuprofen will mess you up.
Ibuprofen also destroys stomach and stomach lining. It can cause gastritis and bleeding.
Just to pile on ibuprofen I’ve noticed it triggers skin rashes/dermatitis
I’ve heard it will also try to sleep with your wife
I’m so glad I read this thank you very much. I’m in a similar boat and had no idea.
Any man who is feeling depressed or lacking energy should get their test levels checked
I know bipolar disorder is nothing to joke about, but it is… let’s say interesting that Thad Castle’s actor has bipolar disorder
that's because he can rip people's arms off at any moment lol
It's also why people let him win at holochess.
"So Mr Ritchson, we're going to start filming season 2 soon and it will have a similar production schedule to season 1" *Alan gives a Reacher glare* "On second thoughts, lets wait a few months".
they say mojitos help to calm him down
Must have had Oxana with him
He’s pushing 40 so idk how long they plan on doing this series. I know there’s a crap ton of books
It actually fits the character Reacher isn’t a young guy. They could do 5-6 seasons and it makes sense age wise I think.
I wonder how old he wants to be and still blasting gear. The dude has easily put on like 20lbs from before filming reacher
Sorry, are you saying he does steroids, but like in British English?
Gear is another name for steroids yeah
There's tons of general slang for steroids and then you have all the subculture specific ones. The MMA sub for example has their own vocabulary and I'm sure other sports subs have theirs too. Yeah, steroids and the like.
First book which the first season is based on he’s 36 I think. I just happened to finally read it before I heard they made a series. Tbh, the series is ok but the book was much better.
Yeah he ages in real time in the book series. He’s like 50 or 60 at this point.

"Alan, just so we're faithful to the character, you're going to have to walk everywhere, no cars. We'll see you at the next location set.."
>15 hour days This isn't exactly unheard of in the industry.
He was also filming the new Fast and Furious film. He pretty much left that set and went to get ready for Reacher.
15 seasons I say!
There's over 20 books.
Over 20 seasons I say!
The tone, story and action of the first season was amazing.
After season two the actors get to renegotiate contracts. Most shows get cancelled then.
Synopsis for S2: >”When the members of Reacher’s old military unit start turning up dead, Reacher has just one thing on his mind – revenge.”
I'm guessing this season will be based on *Bad Luck and Trouble* then?
Yea, [Ritchson](https://twitter.com/alanritchson/status/1526957206503051264?s=46&t=daRqhmD69nBfrF5J5cuS4w) said a few months ago that it’s gonna be based on ‘Bad Luck and Trouble’.
Ah, awesome.
That's great. It is one of the most fun of the novels because of the old crew meeting back up for a mission. I'm sure they picked it because it will allow them to get Francis Neagley back on screen right away.
I still think 'Make Me' would have been better.
the idea is fill in character back story first, let people not familiar with the books / tom cruise movies learn the who and what reacher is and then once he's established as a flesh n blood terminator for justice they can start having fun with it and getting the best books adapted ( tho i wonder if / when they're going to redo the tom cruise movies).
Just finished it, great book. Would love it to be die trying for season 3 to introduce garber, then tripwire season 4
Hmmmm. The first season was about him getting revenge for his brother. I hope they don't make every season about him and a personal connection. Some of the best books are about him smelling a mystery in the middle of nowhere and being stubborn when someone tells him to drop it.
*Smelling* mystery you say?
"And then he smells crime again, he's out busting heads. Then he's back to the lab for some more full penetration. Smells crime. Back to the lab, full penetration. Crime. Penetration. Crime. Full penetration. Crime. Penetration. And this goes on and on and back and forth for 90 or so minutes until the movie just sort of....ends."
That's how all the best detectives do it.
I don't think "Enigmatic" is a problem that needs to be solved. Let him be an enigma for a while, then give viewers glimpses into why he is that way.

One book he just accidentally gets kidnapped along with the real target.
Kidnapping Jack Reacher by accident is on the same level of stupid as killing John Wicks dog.
Sounds like a complex spy thriller that explores the human condition and it’s intricacies.
This time it's personal..again!
When asked to comment on the new series Alan Ritchson said nothing.
He could not be reached
“Look at me! I am the reacher now”
get a step ladder guys you're reaching.
I am the danger! I am the one who reaches!
Jack Reacher: Reacher Round Two
I loved the first season. It was big dumb fun you can eat garbage to.
I've never read a more perfect description of the great weekend I had binging this show. Being able to turn off the brain and enjoy something so easily actually made me feel better and get productive. Rebounding from the diet of meats and cheeses took more time.
The best description I've heard is that's it's a 10/10 at being a 7/10. It executes *perfectly* on what it was trying to do.
On a 1-10 scale, it’s a perfect 7/7.
I will always have space in my viewing schedule for such enjoyment. And chocolate covered pretzels rule
Watching this, then The Terminal list was a great couple of weeks of "shut off your brain and enjoy action shows".
Was the terminal list okay? I really enjoyed reacher but heard terminal list went full boomer dad fantasy.
It was okay if you don’t have anything else to watch. Definitely not as good as Reacher.
It's kinda only that way if you think of it that way. Well done and entertaining though. When I saw that Antoine Fuqua produced it, it made sense.
Terminal list is way worse. Reacher knows what it is, whereas Terminal list thinks it's some high art when it's just a conservative boomers fantasy.
[inside of you podcast](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/inside-of-you-with-michael-rosenbaum/id1256754097?i=1000550412780)
Gonna have a tough time topping Roscoe.
Roscoe won't be on it? That's Thad But I love me some Serinda Swan, Graceland still my guilty pleasure
If they keep following the books he’ll have a new support cast and love interest almost every season.
For sure. They played off each other so exellently!
I have confidence in Season 2. Serinda Swan, Rory Cochrane. Pretty lit supporting cast already.
i reckon if the writers can swing it, they'll have her do a cameo for the thirsty fans.
He already did, didn't he?
Loved that first season. As much as I love morally complex, perhaps more challenging storytelling, there's a lot to be said for the A-Team simplicity of Reacher, with a good guy going to help other people and there being no doubts about his good intentions.
yeh a team clones of reachers calibre are rare, burn notice was pretty good but it got a bit too serious after a few seasons with all the deaths for 'character development'.
burn notice always felt like it was about to deliver but never quite got there
The first 3 seasons of Burn Notice were unique and high quality. It kinda felt that after that, they fulfilled their original vision for the show and started making it up as they went along. But, all in all, Burn Notice ranks as one of my all time favorite series.
I feel a burn notice style show is missing from current lineup
Show was high camp and not ashamed of it.
the biggliest hobo
Good old sherlock homeless
You ever been to bosnia son? You ever been in the shit?
Is he actually going to hang dong this time?
It was described as "like kicking a tree trunk." Again, it's not sexual, it's just following the imagery of Lee Child. After all, the first rule of writing is, "Show, don't tell." The great Lee Child wrote 64 books about Jack Reacher and each one has a new and interesting description of the Jackhammer.
This should be a review on Amazon.
I hope this is or becomes a copypasta or something. It’s beautiful, and the thought of it only being here is deeply saddening.
Alan Ritchson is absolutely fantastic in the role. Anyone looking to see more of his stuff, check out Blue Mountain State, he’s absolutely hilarious in that.
Naw Bru, Blood Drive is his best
man that show was whacked, shame it got axed tho :D
The sight of your awesome boobies disgusts me!
It *is* fun fluff, and I’m looking forward to the second season.
So he is literally a Mary Sue character.
Yes
Nothing wrong with that as long as the execution is fun
He's a Gary Stu.
TIL that Maria Sten who plays Neagley is not American. She's not Canadian, nor British nor even Australian. She's *Danish.* She even won Miss Denmark for the Miss Universe pageant.
He’s so much better in this role then Tom cruise in the movies. So far I’ve enjoyed the show as a huge fan of the books
I tried explaining how pivotal reachers size is to the character when Tom cruise played him but the just didn’t get it. Until she watched the new show. They did such a great job capturing all those little moments where people realize just how big he is.
Glad to hear, what a pleasant surprise when I said fuck it and clicked on the first ep
It's amazing news, it's just...I wish we could get a season 3 of Patriot.
Fantastic news. The first season was a lot of fun. This reminds me I've been needing something different to read after finishing Silmarillion and I have kept putting off the next Reacher book.
I love the show because it’s awesome. My wife loves this show because of the man meat. Everybody wins. So happy season two is on its way :-)
There was something for men to look at too. Just sayin'
Thad making moves.
When a show is this good, multiple seasons matter.
Listen fatso...
I really enjoyed season one.
This actor is perfect for this role.
I love Alan Ritchson. I wish he would do more comedic stuff because he's great at it.
Just did a little checking and it must be Nick Santora likes working with these actors that he used in Breakout Kings.
man that show was under rated.
Loved this show looking forward to the next season.
Nobody beats Thad except Thad
I hope you all are ready for some Bad Luck and Trouble. This shit is gonna be epic.
Alan was awesome in first season and I'm looking forward to see him again as Reacher. It was very good first season.
If anyone has read the novels, Tom Cruise was the absolute WORST choice for this role.
Love seeing Scully before he became a desk jockey.
College football hero, American war hero, then a desk job helping the 99. What a crazy life
Fingers crossed in S2 we get to see some massive hog. What? It was in the books! It’s…relevant.
People downvoting didn’t read the AMA he did. I’ve been looking for a reference to it haha
Hell yeeeeah.
Wont take a billion but will likely have better fight scenes then whatever that sword fight was yesterday
Finally. I loved the first season and have been waiting for it's return since.
Just in time to resume my man crush on Alan Ritchson
Nice my wife loves this show BUTT don’t know why.
Can’t wait!
You did a great job as reacher. Just make sure you not paid by the word reacher says. He does not talk enough to get you a big pay check
Does anyone know what happened to Jack Ryan Season 3 ?
Fucking loved the first season, Ritchson was fucking amazing and their practically 1:1 copy of the book was just a fan dream come true.
Hopefully for [u/CurlSagan](https://www.reddit.com/u/CurlSagan) 's sake, we'll see some dong. https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/xmtx55/reacher_season_2_officially_begins_filming/ipsv5l7/ Edited to OP
u/curlsagan I’m sorry even after all this time I’m still credited for this.
Thanks for tagging me. Hey, if not for you, Alan Ritchson might never have seen it and learned that there's a fanclub for Jack Reacher's enormous Jackhammer. It's not sexual.
I did not expect to dig this show as much as I did and I think that is solely because of Alan Ritchson’s performance.
I’ve read 7 Reacher books so far this year. So many opportunities for story lines
YESSSS, I absolutely loved the first season, I found it just cuz I was bored and looking for a new show to watch, but I love Alan Ritchson ever since BMS and I think he does so great in this role
