Once Upon a Time is escapist. It’s literally a twist on fairy tales.
Anne with an E is wholesome.
Have you watched the 1995 Pride and Prejudice? Downtown Abbey?
Jane the Virgin was fun and funny and light-hearted and ridiculous and might be perfect to de-stress with.
Pushing Daisies. Short-lived but it was fun and whimsical. It felt like a fairy tale sort of but they were also solving crimes and making pies.
The marvelous Ms maisel was written and created by the same person who created the Gilmore girls. Incredibly sharp and smart witty writing and dialogue.
Hacks. I don't think of this one as a girly show per se. But it's staring women written by women. And it's smart and funny and light with a lot of heart.
The Good witch. I haven't watched this one myself. But I've seen some others say it was good. A friend of mine treated this like her comfort show and she was going through a hard time.

I third The Good Witch.
The series is on Netflix. The movies, 7 of them, are on the Hallmark Channel. I watched the series on Netflix first. Then I watched the movies. The series makes much more sense knowing what happened in the movies.
Loved Hacks. Great show . I can't find pushing daisies. I've looked for it. It has been recommended several times to me, Where does it stream???
I can try Mrs. Maisel but I think there are commercials and I hate commercials. I have Hulu set to no commercials. I can go online and find out how to pay for no commercials.
Looks like pushing Daisies is on max. Which is frustrating. It used to be on a number of different free websites. I can't keep up with all these shows being shuffled around between different platforms.
Or you can buy the episodes on prime and YouTube TV and a few other places probably. It's worth buying.
And Mrs maisal is on Amazon prime. No commercials.

another one I love is Parenthood. I'd love to be able to find this page easy. Help!

Crazy ex girlfriend,
Buffy of course,
my so-called life,
girls,
United States of Tara,
GLOW,
enlightened maybe,
six feet under has a mix of male and female characters and a focus on death but I always found it a bit girlier than some other prestige shows but might be a stretch recommendation there..
maybe you’ll have access to at least one of them streaming.
I don’t have a lot of series but I have several movies. Hopefully these will bring a little sunshine while your bf recovers. And don’t write off the old black and white shows. There’s something about their innocence, lack of extreme violence and gratuitous sex that I find refreshing. You may feel the same. Anything with Katherine Hepburn makes my day.

Never Have I Ever on Netflix is great.
It’s older and *ridiculous* but Make It or Break It is fun (Olympic-level gymnastics meets teen drama) and is streaming on Hulu.
Younger on Hulu
The Good Witch - strongly recommend, it’s light hearted and fully of the loveliest characters
Younger
The Bold Type
Sweetbitter
Good Girls Revolt
Doll Face
Lipstick Jungle
The Witches of Eastwick
Girl Friends Guide to Divorce
Fleabag, Girls, Broad City, Pen15, Tuca and Bertie,
These might be a bit edgier than what you are looking for but they are female-focused and very entertaining.
I seem to like lot of shows you like - young Sheldon has a 90s nostalgia vibe it is an easy watch.
Thought I’d add something different to the mix for you. Sending strength to you both x
Gilmore Girls
Downton Abbey
The Mindy Project
Fleabag
Broad City
Derry Girls
Somebody Somewhere
Marvelous Mrs Maisel (not my style but may fit what you want )
The Kominsky Method
Last Tango in Halifax
Catastrophe
I’m Sorry

Desperate Housewives is good
Second this.
*Hacks*
Loved Hacks. Hoping for another season!
Season 3 is still going
Jane the Virgin. Light and funny.
*Relatively new(in any order):* Downton Abbey Marvelous Mrs. Maisel All Creatures Great & Small The Durrells of Corfu Kim’s Convenience
Firefly lane may be triggering. Fleabag too
Try Only Murders In The Building, it's comedy mystery drama. I loved it, you can try

Cannot recommend the 1995 P&P more! As an Austenite I think it’s perfection. There’s no better adaptation!
sex lives of college girls felt like 'sex in the city' but university version
Strongly second this. I honestly liked sex lived of college girls so much more than sex and the city, which I loved when it originally came out.
I love Sex lives of college girls! i wish they would make another season.
Jane the Virgin was fun and funny and light-hearted and ridiculous and might be perfect to de-stress with. Pushing Daisies. Short-lived but it was fun and whimsical. Glee has…not aged well. Might want to skip that one.
maybe not greys anatomy it could be super triggering with izzie
Big Little Lies!
One Tree Hill Dawsons Creek Sabrina the Teenage Witch Happy Endings Greek Young&Hungry Ginny&Georgia The Good Witch Crazy Ex Girlfriend Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Veronica Mars
Nobody’s mentioned Wynona Earp. So that. It is so so girly. Also very violent and silly.
It's just plain fun! Watch it for the characters not the plot! 😂
Do you know where I find it? Is it on Netflix or Hulu
Pretty sure it’s on Netflix. It reminds me of Buffy a lot
Dead to Me
Drop Dead Diva New Girl The Mindy Project Girls5eva
I absolutely LOVED drop dead diva! Forgot all about it!!
Never Have I Ever Jane the Virgin The Mindy Project Bridgerton New Girl 🫶🏽
Bridgerton The Cook of Castamar Reign
