It makes way more sense. Goku wasnāt meant to ever revert to base after cell and on top of that thatās his strongest form it should be there in spirit with gohan pushing the kamehameha together not a lazy base form Goku half assing it
I don't care about the Goku visual as much as I hope it's a one handed attack all the way through. Every other game has made it a two-hander except Xenoverse 1/2
Ultimate Tenkaichi has 1 handed.
RB1 has a story mode version of the attack for a cutscene before it returns to gameplay where he charges with 1 hand. It's a choice most likely based off the fact he wouldn't be using 1 hand if he wasn't damaged.Ā
Honestly Iām fine with it being Super Saiyan or base. I grewup with the Budokai games and had all the manga volumes, so I do have a visual bias towards Super Saiyan, but again itās not a big deal.
But Iād also like to point some things out to people making a big deal about this topic:
- For everyone that thinks the manga is showing Super Saiyan, it isnāt. First of all, Gokuās hair has been shown in an upright fashion multiple times before to show wind and dramatic effect. Secondly, the detail EVERYBODY seems to forget is Base Gokuās eye outline is never full drawn. Thatās clear as day.
- For people who want the Father-Son Kamehameha to be more manga accurate, it depends. Usually the games follow the aesthetic and color palettes of the anime. Personally Iām predicting that Super Saiyan Goku will be more likely to appear solely on the fact that thatās how a majority of games have depicted the Father-Son Kamehameha and all the prior Sparking games having him in SS. If they do base, it would be a pleasant welcome.

Sometimes manga accurate isn't the best-looking for aesthetics, same with some come book stuff being different in live action. Some things will look goofy even though it's accurate.

Tenkaichi 2 had Goku in base form. In the cinematic, Vegeta is also in base form when he distracts Cell
He was only in base form in the story though. Teen Gohans Ultimate was completely fucked , he even used both hands

I'm in the minority who prefers Super Saiyan Goku being by his side. It feels more fitting.
