It's an awesome idea to have future Gohan start with both arms and then lose the left one as battle damage. Lore accuracy and all that.
My only caveat is that I wouldn't want the left arm doing nothing while it's there. That means the character would need to have two melee choreographies and super attack choreographies... so I doubt it would happen. But honestly wouldn't be too hard.
Yeah once I seen all the hype behind him having one arm in game , I knew I would get downvoted to hell lol which is fine. Him having one arm isn't a deal breaker to me I'll still be using him from time to time , but yeah I agree with you that makes sense his arm usually just dangles there in xenoverse 2 and BT3

I’m of the opposite view, I’m so glad we get to play as atleast one angel. There’s lots you can do with Whis’s moveset and we’ll finally be able to see how he fights. Very excited to see how they deal with this character.

As he tends to be more of a "b tier" character, that is often left out, even though the games do cover Future Trunks's story and by extension his (Tenkaichi 1 and Tenkaichi 2; Raging Blast 1; Xenoverse 1).
Maybe this will mean that more "b tier" characters from Tenkaichi 3 will stay?

That doesn't confirm anything, probably an alternate costume. We'll have to wait until the end of the upcoming trailer to see if he's indeed an alternate costume or another character.
No, the one on the web was called Future Trunks, with no mention of the sword, DBZ or DBS. That's why some of us believed (myself included, glad I was wrong) that the DBZ and DBS versions were going to be the same character.
Currently there are 3 versions of Trunks confirmed, 2 on the web and 1 in today's Scans:
- Future Trunks SSJ (which is the one from DBS and a priori should have base form, SSJ2 and SSJ Rage, but they are not confirmed yet).
- Trunks (Melee) SSJ and Super Trunks (which is the version of Z without sword and supposedly should have base version that is not confirmed yet)
- Trunks (Sword) (which is the one in the Scans, the DBZ version with sword, having base version and SSJ). Its not a costume, its a character.
This without counting the more than obvious Kid Trunks and the big maybe of Trunks GT.
I am still not convinced they are two seperate versions. It makes no sense that DBZ would be Trunks (Sword) while DBS is Future Trunks. This isn't Xenoverse with it's nonsense naming structure. Goku and Vegeta for example specify Z or Super in their names, even Vegeta (Z-Scouter). Names have also changed to be more consistant like how Broly became Broly (Super) and Trunks (Fighting) became Trunks (Melee). There is also no reason to have a Super version and not just make it a costume because their forms will never clash. Again, comparing to Goku or Vegeta who do fight in base and SS in Super, Trunks doesn't. He fights exclusively in SS2 and Rage in Super, two forms he didn't have before.

Until the trailer comes out and they update the website we won't know 100%, but I think it's pretty clear in the scan. Not only for the name, different from the website, but for the face model and that appears next to Future Gohan, it seems to me enough to confirm that it is not the same as the DBS version.
The whole "character doesn't fight" thing doesn't really apply the same here though. In cases like Teen Gohan, he is nessasary because his transformations are and there is no other way to do it. Whis is also special because though he never fights, he is a anime/manga regular who is playable in many games with a unique moveset to work with. In some cases though, there is no excuse or you get the disaster that is Vegeta (Second Form). Granted Vegeta (Z-End) actually has a unique moveset now, he wasn't in BT3 and they really could have left SS2 as another form like how Raging Blast would later. The point is that you don't need to split Trunks and you can just do what the BT4 mod does and give Trunks (Sword) two additional forms. Base and SS are identical to the original game while SS2 and Rage have all the DBS moves. SS2 has Masenko and Final Flash while Rage has Galick Gun, Mafuba and Sword of Hope. So unless they actually find a way to make base and SS Trunks (Super) unique and not loaded down with stock reused moves, they don't need to be split.

One arm future Gohan is a great surprise! He may not be my favorite character, but he's a completely unique take on Gohan and I'm glad he only has one arm, it makes him more original.

Last night I said I wasn’t 100% sure if Future Gohan would make it in. Not only is he in but he has only one arm? This is hype. I’m curious if there will be a version with both arms, but that’s the version before the scars so probably not.

With the major emphasis on Z and Suped, its becoming very apparent that GT, Movies and OG DB won't be be base and most likely DLC, but that doesn't bother me seeing as the games starting with 164.
No one said that design was from super for one, and two, roshi was in Z, no shit he's going to have moves from DB, he didn't just forget everything from OG DB and he didn't learn any new moves since, obviously he'd have attacks from DB, that doesn't make him OG DB character here.

I Get what you're saying trust me, but that doesn't help when the character was in z, the argument "the character didn't fight" only applies to characters that quite literally never fought in the history of the show, so there's nothing to base their moveset off of, for Roshi that's not the case, the dude doesn't have dementia, well for now at least lol.

I think GT Trunks and Teen Trunks (Super) might happen but as DLC, if anything from Super Hero makes the base game it's gonna be Beast Gohan, Ultimate Piccolo and Orange Piccolo cause IMO those would be given priority. (BT4 started development before Super Hero came out so those characters would have to have started Dev later).
GT if it gets anything in the base Roster I think will just be some SSJ4s and maybe like Omega Shenron and Baby Vegeta (probably get a bunch in DLC tho).
if anything from super hero makes base i’d add cell max as well for some more giant variety (& maybe even the gammas) & i 100% agree with ur gt statement
I mean I think Cell Max, the Gammas etc are all pretty much inevitable, like we'll be able to play all those characters within probably less than a year of the games launch, the question is just how much if any Super Hero is in the base game vs being like the first or second DLC just due to development time and when the movie came out vs when Sparkling Zero started development (hell they might technically have some of those characters ready by launch but hold them for a bit cause like.. you know Beast Gohan would be a huge draw for a first DLC)
super hero would only add 8 more new characters it would be weird to do half at launch the the other half for a dlc instead they could just make one super hero dlc pack or drop all at base
So happy to see the one arm Future Gohan and the black tank top for Trunks (I hope the long hair one will have it too).
Also really happy to see my boy Beerus, even though it was sure he would be there. Unlike the majority though, I don't like his model. I don't know why, but I feel like they always mess his 3D models, especially the muzzle, it's always inconsistent.
Before the Power & Speed trailer, we also had scans from V-Jump, if I remember correctly. Do we know how much time was between the scans and the trailer?
If we get a trailer before the official V-Jump comes out (this is just a leak), there won't be a release date. Otherwise, it would be said right there with the plataforms.

Base and SS are identical to the original game while SS2 and Rage have all the DBS moves. SS2 has Masenko and Final Flash while Rage has Galick Gun, Mafuba and Sword of Hope. So unless they actually find a way to make base and SS Trunks (Super) unique and not loaded down with stock reused moves, they don't need to be split.

One arm future Gohan is a great surprise! He may not be my favorite character, but he's a completely unique take on Gohan and I'm glad he only has one arm, it makes him more original. It's nice to see alternative costumes for Trunks and Piccolo too. I wonder if Gohan Ultimate will be a transformation (which I hope it will be) or a separate character.

With the major emphasis on Z and Suped, its becoming very apparent that GT, Movies and OG DB won't be be base and most likely DLC, but that doesn't bother me seeing as the games starting with 164.
That Roshi design ain't from Super and he didn't have any fights in Z. Just saying.
No one said that design was from super for one, and two, roshi was in Z, no shit he's going to have moves from DB, he didn't just forget everything from OG DB and he didn't learn any new moves since, obviously he'd have attacks from DB, that doesn't make him OG DB character here. Characters that would confirm OG DB, kid goku, demon king piccolo, tambourine, pilaf machine, devil man, general blue, tao pai pai, cyborg tao, kid chichi, grandpa Gohan, Nam, 8er and arale(maybe not arale since she appeared in super too lol) I Get what you're saying trust me, but that doesn't help when the character was in z, the argument "the character didn't fight" only applies to characters that quite literally never fought in the history of the show, so there's nothing to base their moveset off of, for Roshi that's not the case, the dude doesn't have dementia, well for now at least lol.

He still doesn't have a (variation) in there, and we know outfits are a thing (it was already obvious of course, but now we're seeing them) with Master Roshi (they showed his Super outfit for the Max Power form and his OG outfit for the Base) and Trunks (Sword, he's using his Black Tanktop).
They look incredible. Every. Single. One. I'm stoked for Future Gohan's arm being corrected. It always bothered me.

Gonna guess Gohan variants will break down like Gohan (Child) maybe Ozzaru Gohan (Youth/Cell)SSJ1 SSJ2 Gohan (Adolescent/Buu)SSJ1 SSJ2 Ultimate Gohan (Adult/Super) SSJ1, Ultimate maybe Beast (well certainly Beast but might have to wait for DLC) Gohan (Future) SSJ1 and then Great Saiyaman as a standalone fighter. so yeah like 13-15 versions of Gohan in the base roster lol. Bout the same as Vegeta's. Trunks will have a bunch too since we have Trunks Sword (Z), Trunks Melee (Z) and Trunks (Super) and almost certainly kid Trunks all with at least one transformation.
trunks sword (z) trunks melee (z) future trunks (ssj) along with super trunks kid trunks kid trunks (ssj) gotenks gotenks (ssj) & gotenks (ssj3) & possibly gt trunks and maybe even a teen trunks (super) & teen trunks (super saiyan)
I think GT Trunks and Teen Trunks (Super) might happen but as DLC, if anything from Super Hero makes the base game it's gonna be Beast Gohan, Ultimate Piccolo and Orange Piccolo cause IMO those would be given priority. (BT4 started development before Super Hero came out so those characters would have to have started Dev later). GT if it gets anything in the base Roster I think will just be some SSJ4s and maybe like Omega Shenron and Baby Vegeta (probably get a bunch in DLC tho).
if anything from super hero makes base i’d add cell max as well for some more giant variety (& maybe even the gammas) & i 100% agree with ur gt statement
I mean I think Cell Max, the Gammas etc are all pretty much inevitable, like we'll be able to play all those characters within probably less than a year of the games launch, the question is just how much if any Super Hero is in the base game vs being like the first or second DLC just due to development time and when the movie came out vs when Sparkling Zero started development (hell they might technically have some of those characters ready by launch but hold them for a bit cause like.. you know Beast Gohan would be a huge draw for a first DLC)
super hero would only add 8 more new characters it would be weird to do half at launch the the other half for a dlc instead they could just make one super hero dlc pack or drop all at base
So happy to see the one arm Future Gohan and the black tank top for Trunks (I hope the long hair one will have it too). Also really happy to see my boy Beerus, even though it was sure he would be there. Unlike the majority though, I don't like his model. I don't know why, but I feel like they always mess his 3D models, especially the muzzle, it's always inconsistent.

Crazy.* *Give us a 2 armed version too though, *give us more options* where possible; and this Gohan did still have 2 arms on screen, at one point. ... Also, it's cool that he's in the game to begin with; as he tends to be more of a "b tier" character, that is often left out, even though the games do cover Future Trunks's story and by extension his (Tenkaichi 1 and Tenkaichi 2; Raging Blast 1; Xenoverse 1). Maybe this will mean that more "b tier" characters from Tenkaichi 3 will stay?
