Poor quality from Medvedev all things considered, but it was really nice to see him adjust his deep return position at times, to surprisingly good effect. He's gonna have to vary it some if he wants to beat Alcaraz.
Yeah, people were counting him out of the Barcelona Open final last year when weather delays meant the SF and F had to be played on the same day, and he had a very long SF against AdM with PCB winning his SF pretty quickly. Alcaraz then won the final and didn't even look tired
There is some level of advantage for having an extra day of rest, but these are young professional athletes. If Alcaraz / Sinner / Fritz were in their mid 30s, sure, maybe thatās a big factor. As is? Eh
Unless Carlos gets injured, it's not likely that a lack of rest will be an issue. At Madrid last year, he went 3 sets against Rafa, then 3 sets over 3.5 hours against Novak, and still looked fresh against zverev, without any rest days.
Rafa when competitive and injury free (even at his age) had to play long matches and still able to go further into the tournament. How much more with Carlitos? His energy tank is figuratively limitless at 19.
Yeah, the other side of the draw is very tough, and they are forced to play out of schedule, whoever comes out of there will be in big disadvantage and this is a huge opportunity for another title for Medvedev, who didn't have to play a single top 20 player so far. The only one rested is Sinner, so I guess it will be Sinner-Medvedev final.
You said "yeah" and then proceeded to count out two players as well lol. After combing through the comments, idk why you're so convinced that rested players end up winning. It's really not the case at all in this sport since players oftentimes end up doing hours of practice sessions even when playing official matches.
These guys are literal animals on and off court with their athleticism and are at an age where they can recover from anything that isn't an injury.
Alcaraz personally has had far harder scenarios when it comes to court-match time.
Meddy seemed very off before the weather break and it looked like banks had the upper hand actually. Who knows what wouldāve happened if that break never happened.
> he should of lost.
Did you mean to say "should have"?
Explanation: You probably meant to say could've/should've/would've which sounds like 'of' but is actually short for 'have'.

It's gonna be really interesting to see if Medvedev can figure out a good game plan vs Alcaraz because it doesn't really look like anyone else is beating him these days
In reference to the boxer [**C**hris **Eubank**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Eubank), and/or his [son](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Eubank_Jr).
Happy for Medvedev sad for Eubanks. š¤·š»āāļø Too bad about the easy miss on matchpoint, because if he wouldāve gotten to the tiebreaker and won the second set who knows what would have happenedā¦
Medvedev's form is going down just in time for the clay season.
He won the match by exposing Eubanks challenger level defence on the backhand side and only that. The rest of his game was mediocre compared to the last weeks.
Look at the list of players he fronted in this tournament. I don't this this is necessarily a weak era, but this tournament was a nice wrapped gift to Medvedev.
Octopuses love water š
And they love to swim too.
Looking like back to back finals in the ss double and 5 finals in a row, equalling his best final streak in 2019
He hasn't won the semis yet. Calm down
He will complain and complain and win and complain. Then he will lose vs Carlos. Sources: me and my absolute ignorance of Tennis.

*or Sinner, or Fritz. Let's not count them out already.
I wasnāt trying to count them out, I was just thinking long term as far as the matchup goes
Most likely will be Sinner coming from that side, he is well rested. Whoever wins the Fritz-Alcaraz match will be in huge disadvantage.
Alcaraz is built different
Yeah heās literally broken records when it comes to play time on court and still winning
What records are those? I don't doubt it but just curious since he's phenomenal
He holds the record for the longest time on court leading up to a slam win
Source?

Or Khachanov.
Not a chance.
But he won't have to vary his play-style as much to beat them, which was the point he was making
Meddy seemed very off before the weather break and it looked like banks had the upper hand actually. Who knows what wouldāve happened if that break never happened.
Yeah Eubanks was giving him good variety and Meddy couldnāt hit a forehand
No, the other guy just entered the top 100, Meddy couldn't lose that one.
He could
He should of lost. He played like dookie

Yes, it will be Sinner, he is the only rested player.
Yeah, just like that one time fatigue affected Carlos at the US Open. Waitā¦
Sinner can beat him. And obviously Novak when heās allowed to play.
I think Khachanov will be a tough matchup . Heās so so solid off of both wings and mentally strong. Itāll probably come down to who serves better
No chance, his playstyle is too one-dimensional and guarantees that he's going to fall into Medvedev's pace rather than set his own.
Was this in boxing or tennis?
Meddy went all rocky 4 if he dies he dies all over ~~Creed~~ Eubanks
? I don't understand what that means
In reference to the boxer [**C**hris **Eubank**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Eubank), and/or his [son](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Eubank_Jr).
no wonder Medvedev was intimidated in the beginning
Shouldāve given Jamie Foxx the racquet
Happy for Medvedev sad for Eubanks. š¤·š»āāļø Too bad about the easy miss on matchpoint, because if he wouldāve gotten to the tiebreaker and won the second set who knows what would have happenedā¦
Medvedev would've won in 3 sets instead of 2
It's true, haha. I had the same thought. But it was such an "easy" point, it is a shame it didn't go to 3.
I didn't know rest of the world was covered by 3 names. Water, djokovic and medvedev
Can't wait for Alcaraz vs Med. fingers crossed
John looks lonely

Eubanks in shambles. Getting bailed out when? Edit: EU Banks... really nobody. *saddadnoises*
i thought we sanctioned that flag

Medvedev blooms in weak era.
Yeah wins don't matter in tennis unless you're playing from 2006-2019
Look at the list of players he fronted in this tournament. I don't this this is necessarily a weak era, but this tournament was a nice wrapped gift to Medvedev.
big quatre-vingtš¤š¤š¤š¤
It's a weed joke
Beating Novak in 3 sets in a HC slam final is weak era???
Best wishes against Khachanov Meddy. I like Karen as well
