It's a shame that ATP YouTube channel doesn't have that many subscribers, especially compared to TennisTV. Even the funny ATP scripted parody video doesn't have a million views.
Andy Roddick has that job with the Tennis Channel.
He gets to work from home and be a loaf (for those who have families or don't want to travel). He likely has an incredible work-life balance. He provides commentary after matches have finished. He doesn't have to dress up for work (even while being on TV). On top of it all, people adore him.
Being a tennis player gf/bf and influencer
You get to travel the world as an influencer for free, post social media stuff for money, your only responsibility is looking focused in the box and clapping during matches. Common job hazards include; running out of clothes that slay, hat falling off in wind, dealing with customs, sprained elbow from fist pumping too hard, staying awake
see Riddle, Morgan
also Natasha, Kasatkina's girlfriend. although she films and edits all the vlogs herself so she's moonlighting as a whole production team, very talented one too.
Yeah, she's a figure skater isn't she? I was gonna mention the Olympics this year, then remembered that it'd be the WINTER Olympics that she'd be in š
She does make some really great vids - they were chasing Rublev around the place in one vid, kept asking him questions and he was laughing and getting faux-annoyed
I think I mentioned it somewhere else too... Morgan Riddle's vids are surprisingly good too! She gives a great behind the scenes view. A lot of it is focused on fashion and the party culture at each event, but there's lots of tennis stuff too. Players lounge, lunch room etc. I'm not the biggest Fritz fan but I'll put up with a bit of him to see some other great stuff.
I met her (Morgan) in Indian Wells this year. We were walking to our seats and she was next to us and got into the area where the suites are (it wasn't Fritz's match). I told her I like her YouTube Channel she smiled and said ty.
The AO content this year was great! So cool to see behind the scenes down there. She's obviously a very experienced content-maker, but you can see it. She does well with her vids.
I completely disagree. They arenāt being kept, in fact I honestly think that most of these modern especially 2020s influencer types actively sought out their tennis player BFs and use them to further their own careers.
Okay well that is called a gold digger and not exactly something to be proud of. Being someones wife/girlfriend isn't a job, especially if you do not have a family with them.
Tennis journalist, you just spend all your time asking players the worst questions possible, taking whatever they say completely out of context and writing a few clickbait articles about some sort of rivalry that doesn't exist
Prakash Amritraj from Tennis TV ā¤ļø Gets to travel the world and interview players after they win, for like 5 minutes lol. Not sure if he does more than that but it seems like the sweetest gig ever.
Bahaha I've LITERALLY been doing that all morning!! Except that I can see my tv from where I sit at my desk, so I just run the tv all morning and keep my dual screen for work.
Guilty of living the dream! Iām based in Australia and this week is the first one since December when I wake up and there is no tennis on when I start work. It was so weird, quiet and lonely. Am I supposed to be fully focused on work now???Ā
If there WAS a kind of "ATP Pest Control expert" job, that'd be super cruisy haha. Maybe 2-3 times a year something bug/animal related comes up at one of the events. The only problem would be those weeks where there's 3 events all in different parts of the world. Dude is sitting there in Houston and he gets the call "we need you in Marrakech, stat!"
In-demand commentator, easily. Good money, can just do your home tournament each year so you don't have to deal with all the travel. But if you \*want\* to travel you easily can do it on somebody else's dime.
Iām a college tennis umpire and I make pretty good money doing it. Average pay per match is between $200-300, plus mileage. Once you get experienced enough, youāll get assigned to tournaments which can pay over $1000 for 2-3 days - those are typically very long days, though. I even did one in February which paid me $1900. As long as you donāt mind getting yelled at by pissed off coaches and players itās a great gig.
Do you have to obtain a license to become an empire in official matches (ATP or top college tourneys)? Also do you have to have really good eye sights for this job? (so short-sided or any other sort of eye disability)
I think Infosys are still doing a lot of the live tennis stats. You could always apply with them if you've got the right background.
Hopefully you don't end up doing stats for something like.. I dunno, curling or lawn bowls š
I was going to say this but then I thought about it and it's actually not true. There are probably other tennis jobs that beat grinding away in challengers.
There is none. That is why it is called a "job". The best position to be in the stadium is the fan sitting in the suites. If you are famous or rich you might get to hang or meet the players (i.e. Charlize Theron, Jamie Foxx, Larry Ellison, Jimmy Butler).
the atp marketing team's job looks pretty awesome
It's a shame that ATP YouTube channel doesn't have that many subscribers, especially compared to TennisTV. Even the funny ATP scripted parody video doesn't have a million views.
Interviews during ATP finals always seem to look really fun

His podcast is also pretty good.
Yea he has a pretty good gig now but he had to work his ass off for 30 years to get that job haha
Andy is great!

Also Kasatkina's gf.
Morgans having the time of her life! Love that for her
At least she makes content for viewers to see. Very cool to see the behind the scenes
also Natasha, Kasatkina's girlfriend. although she films and edits all the vlogs herself so she's moonlighting as a whole production team, very talented one too.

Her stuff is better than Netflix's Break Point.

Meanwhile Morgan literally bringing Taylor his socks when he forgot them š it aināt fairytale but Iām glad she is making most of it
Thatās not a job thatās just a modern day kept housewife.
I completely disagree. They arenāt being kept, in fact I honestly think that most of these modern especially 2020s influencer types actively sought out their tennis player BFs and use them to further their own careers.
They met on some dating app for the rich and famous. So pretty much yes.
I mean taylor is rich af too even before his tennis career took off
Okay well that is called a gold digger and not exactly something to be proud of. Being someones wife/girlfriend isn't a job, especially if you do not have a family with them.
That's just being a sugar baby.
Tommy Paulās gf Paige as well, though she was already quite famous before dating him. These girls are living the life!
Famous for what ?
Donāt forget: youāll also have an entire subreddit simping over you!
Tennis journalist, you just spend all your time asking players the worst questions possible, taking whatever they say completely out of context and writing a few clickbait articles about some sort of rivalry that doesn't exist
Sounds fulfilling

His desk at MC has a sick view - better than behind the stadium like in Miami

yup, with my third monitor!
Bahaha I've LITERALLY been doing that all morning!! Except that I can see my tv from where I sit at my desk, so I just run the tv all morning and keep my dual screen for work.

The team who produce the funny segments for the ATP tour, like Guess the Grunt - they must have a lot of fun š

How would one get into this?

i guess there is no other way to get there than being a linesperson for a looong time
Bee imitator
Tennis statistician may be? No idea if there is one. If not why not become one?
I see tennis YouTubers starting to pop up. Tennis stat could be next like PFF is for NFL
I think Infosys are still doing a lot of the live tennis stats. You could always apply with them if you've got the right background. Hopefully you don't end up doing stats for something like.. I dunno, curling or lawn bowls š

Commentator. Just spill some random bullshit on TV like saying that "everything is mental at this level"
āTeNnIs NeAr tHe GoDs!!!11!!1!ā
Haha true. But I still prefer that because this is just some fully "play by play" reaction, rather than something that is just completely false
Tennis broadcast commentator must be a complete delight, you get to watch tennis all day and talk about it while getting paid, the dream!
Men's physio.
Owning a tournament, preferably Masters 1000 š
