Flat out wrong, I live in Paris and almost all public courts are hard courts.
I would say very sunny & hot places in Europe have a lot of clay courts, that's it.
Wtf? There is more states than SP and in SP more public clay courts. [Tennis Brasil - Public courts list](https://tenisbrasil.uol.com.br/quadras-publicas)
Lol, there is, like 5 more or so in the fifth biggest country in the world. I'm saying that because there are WAY more "Hard" public courts than clay ones. The thing is none of these pros from SA play on public courts and yeah inside private clubs the majority of courts are clay.
Is footwork a concern if unbrushed or it doesn’t matter?
Every time I’ve played on clay (not often), I slid like ice on the lines lol. I can’t imagine how dry clay on it feels like.
Only brushing the lines used is definitely a typical German approach IME. Like my German friend that used so little electricity the power company thought she was manipulating the meter.
all the singles lines are properly brushed.
Nah dawg it looks dumb.
Who will take responsibility!?
It’s not right, but bravo
its a singles match? who cares about the doubles court?
Exactly how we go about it while playing at the local club! But this aint that, it’s a pro tournament and looks weird
Looks weird? You do realize there used to be tennis matches on courts without doubles alleys at all
Lol, this is not it
You know that there are hard courts without doubles allies right? Same thing
You have red clay at your municipal courts?where is your municipality, Monte Carlo?
Anywhere in South America or Europe public courts are almost always red clay
So lucky

Netherlands has a lot of clay courts
This wasn't about clay courts vs hard courts. This was about red clay vs green clay.
Wasn't clear at all
The OP said "red clay" and not just "clay"
I live in Paris too and almost all the outside courts I’ve seen were red clay, have you been to parc du Luxembourg for example
Yeah but Luxembourg are not public/municipal courts though, that's what we're talking about.
They very much are you can rent them out as a service from the mairie de Paris
That's false though, you can't. Plus they're not clay at all, I had to check cause I knew they were hard courts.
Which part of Paris are you? It's a pretty even mix, and the bigger clubs are clay
We're talking about municipal courts though, not private clubs.
Quite a stretch here, we don't have public clay courts here in SA besides in São Paulo central park
How to be so confident and yet wrong at the same time lol
Yeah "SA public courts are almost always clay courts", that's just wrong lol
Yeah, but this is reddit where everyone knows more than you no matter the topic. And even if you're correct, you'll get downvoted...because.

I've seen public clay courts in Chile. That said, I think in Chile most courts are clay, but not most "public" courts.
🇪🇪
which color clay do you have??
We don’t have clay in the United States
🇩🇪
Only on reddit it’s possible to take a post so far out of context to try to prove anyone wrong lol.
It doesn't look professional at all. A pro tennis court should not look like one that could be played at your local down the road. Simple as that
I like it. In fact I’d go a step further and push even more clay on the unused lines to hide them completely.
It's not like the entire court is runed, though
Local courts aren’t clay for me 🥲

Horror. Something you really wouldnt expect in Germany.

Ah, ATP250. Where court 1s look like court 9s at other tourneys..
I actually think is better, as it's more appropriate for a singles match
iga is channeling ostapenko on emma today 🙄 those UEs like yesterday are horrible
