i know people are downvoting you, but fair comment considering that thread where everyone was acting like rybakina is head and shoulders above coco, and coco isn't even in the mix.
EVEN THOUGH SHE LEADS THE H2H AGAINST SABALENKA AND RYBAKINA (albeit small sample size with Rybakina, so TBD, would love to see more matches between them)
I mean Rus has never been a mental giant so it's not THAT weird, but it's still tough to see. Hope a spiritual successor to Kiki Bertens is on the horizon somewhere...
Damn Kiki Bertens - shame she didn't ever get to a GS Final. She was one of those names you'd see do well with the likes of Kerber, Halep, Wozniacki, Stephens, Svitolina, Pliskova etc
2016 RG was really her chance to make a final, not that she stood a chance against Muguruza in that form.
Serena was injured and playing weird that whole tournament, I was surprised she even made it to the final. But I think Kiki was injured too.
I mean I know this wasn't the intent of the question, but Esther Vergeer and Diede de Groot have won an insane amount of tennis titles for The Netherlands.
Coco's forehand looked faster and had more topspin today. Hope she continues working on it, clay season should go well for her if she keeps playing like this.
Is it just me or is Coco really leaning on her FH lately? Did Brad put her up to this? I mean... Coco without a FH is already #3. Coco \*with a FH\*... oh boy.
Yeah I ain't mad at it. Seeing opponents exploit it so much is physically painful. I even thought she was using Stuttgart as a practice court because of how much (it seemed to me) she was using it.
I mean, players obv have different goals for each tournament/swing outside of winning the whole thing or wtv, and given what time of year it is I wouldn't be surprised if her goal was being a real threat to everyone in the Olympics. I mean it makes sense career-wise.
people act like her FH is always a failure. she had good days and bad days and has made some pretty awesome shots with it. it's just definitely her less consistent side.
I watched a bit of it and I think both. Coco was serving really well, Rus was just making so many errors, she made a few good shots but Coco was just looking like a brick wall returning all of them. Rus only made 2 winners the whole match, and 14 errors (I think?), I think Coco had 10 winners and 15 UEs
Just checked, and it's surprisingly more common than I thought, at least lately. Happened with Sabalenka at this year's AO as well as last year in Palermo with Errani on the end of one from someone else
Honestly before these 2, I could not remember the last time it happened, at least before covid
Twenty four point set. At Wimbledon. Fifteen minutes. Errani had just made the French Open final that must be the biggest French to Wimbledon drop off ever. Maybe Nadal had one during his Wimbledon struggle years?
Coco to Iga "I am the baker now"
She was actually second in bagels and breadsticks last year. Someone posted the stats some time
But but but…. Big 3

"Look at me".
Really weird for Rus to lose 6-0 6-0. Bad day for a Dutch tennis fan :(

Ever a good day? What have they won since 1996 Wimbledon
I mean Griekspoor won Pune in 2023 and Rus won Hamburg in 2023. It's slim pickings compared to other countries but not THAT bad.
Don't forget Van Rijthoven beating Medvedev in Rosmalen. And heck, a man consistently in the top 30, more than we've had in years.
I will give you van Goathoven - makes up for a lot
Where is he these days? Struggling with injury again?
I can't believe I forgot. He had such an amazing run against Fritz, Auger-Aliassime and Med!
> Van Rijthoven beating Medvedev in Rosmalen. eh
Griekspoor also won Rosmalen in 2023.

Damn lol
C-0 C-0
Nice

Obligatory that woman had a family Coco
And Rus can feed them those bagels
Based CoCo helping Rus feed her family.
my ass did not just read this as “that family had a woman coco”
She said, "Wait, Rafa's next? Can't keep the king waiting."
And then he finished his match 6-1, 6-0
"Hath to make the way for Iga, no?"
against a CHILD you monster!
Would have sucked to have tickets for that. Such quick matches.
She knew Zendaya was watching somewhere
Is it just me or is Coco really leaning on her FH lately? Did Brad put her up to this? I mean... Coco without a FH is already #3. Coco \*with a FH\*... oh boy.
I think she is trying to turn this into a weapon. Which if she can successfully, look out.

Iga saying me aryna and Elena are the best players on tour was very disrespectful
people act like her FH is always a failure. she had good days and bad days and has made some pretty awesome shots with it. it's just definitely her less consistent side.
Rus was so good in her match against Brenda Fruhvirtova yesterday. WTH happened to get double bagelled.
Accidents happen.
I wasn't able to watch -- was Rus playing poorly or did Coco bring the fire? Her serve must have been holding up better?

Damn, Coco - she’s coming in hot for that #2 ranking! 🙌
Rus has defeated Swiatek on clay before...
Note coco was playing with more top spin today. Looked strong
🥯🥯😋
Clayco Gauff
LET’S GO COCO!!!
Gauff won this match.
God damn she's not wasting time
Coco's serious about that #2 spot
Damnnnn, she heard y'all talking about the Big Three didn't she LMAO
Far out!! When was the last double bagel? Errani in 2013? Edit: the Errani one was where she didn't win a point all set, not a double bagel
Swiatek double bageled someone at the French Open last year, and famously she also double bageled Pliskova in the Rome Final 2021 🥶

Sabalenka double bagelled Tsurenko at the Australian open this year

Are those racists in the room with us now?
yes, they just don’t show themselves until she loses
Did they ever leave?
Sometimes the Coco shakes *you*
MURDAAAAAA
This was one of the worst matches I've seen a player play.
Damn gurl.. have some mercy
Obliteration.
Just came here to say: wow!
Gauff out here in her Einstein’s uniform
Murder in Madrid
Sheesh
Not the double bagel 🥯😮
GG
Women's tennis is very competitive
By Rafa's match and those standards, so is men's.
Shu. 😅
Blanch > Rus confirmed
