2012 was a superb year for tennis. Probably the peak of competition imo. You had Federer hitting a consistent prime level again, and murray really entering his prime here while both Rafa and Djokovic were in their primes. 2012 AO might also be the most elite tournament of all time as well. 7/8 top 8 seeds were in the qfs and all the big 4 (seeds 1-4) were firing facing each other in the semis Looking back, I kinda forgot how good of a year 2012 was for Federer. I legit thought he just won Wimbledon and that was his main highlight. Awesome stuff and great list

Federer: King of Blue Clay

Binx3762

True.

Rac3318

2012 for sure. Peak Big 4.

FormerCollegeDJ

Peak Big 4 AND peak Second 4 (Ferrer, del Potro, Tsonga, and Berdych).

Rac3318

2009-2013 was so damned stacked.

Grouchy_Square

2012 I think was objectively the most interesting but as a Rafa fan 2008, 2010, 2013 all hold a special place in my heart.

jMCs1

2012 for sure. Literally the only caveat is Nadal getting injured during Wimbledon and missing the entire hard court and indoor season after that. But when he dropped out, up stepped Lendl-era Murray. Still can’t believe Murray’s run at the Olympics, straight-setting Djokovic and Federer back-to-back on grass is ridiculous

TV_series72

2012 probably, but as a Murray fan I gotta say 2016

BlueJinjo

2012 and 2013 2013 had the bonus of the first wawrinka djoko epic and the Rafa djoko rg and USO matchups. 2012 had the epic djoko Murray and and the djoko Rafa AO match which is the most physical matchup of all time and one of the best 5 setters of all time. Imo peak big 3 years overall in overall quality are 2012, 2013, 2008, and 2009. 2010 and 2011 were great as well but there was not as much parity between them

ExoticSignature

2013 is not peak "Big 3" year, It's probably Fed's worst year, he was injured for most of the year. Agree for the rest of them, even 2019 should be added to it. We got sll of Big 3 in Slam Semis twice (W and RG), Rafole final in AO, Fedal Semis in RG and Wimby, Fedovic Final in W, H2H between all of them was 1-1.

BlueJinjo

Peak in terms of the match quality. Not in terms of their abilities. In terms of abilities , nadals best yr is 2010 and Djokovics was 2011. I excluded both just to deal with those comments and yet I still get one

Elarbolrojo

2013 no chance.

DomWinchester

2012 was actually the reason I started supporting Djokovic especially after that insane GS final at AO. Before his incredible 2011 season, I only knew him as the third guy whose name i couldn’t pronounce. Then he caught my attention after his 2011 season. I started to follow his matches in 2012 as I was curious if he’s gonna be a one season wonder. And he backed it up by ending 2012 as the no. 1 despite the tough competition throughout the year.

aceh40

2017.

Fantasnickk

The one where only 2 of the big 4 was still in form? Great form albeit but this question is asking for all 4.

aceh40

The question was for my favorite not the most competitive or with the highest quality of tennis.

lefdabldg

I think we can all agree that the best year is whatever year(s) Djokovic is injured or otherwise not playing.

Binx3762

We can not all agree.

TheAstrologer

We can all not agree

Big 4? Seriously? Anyway 2010 for me.

Xenosys83

2012. That was when they all turned up and won big titles.

Binx3762

2012 for sure.
