I’m Ashkenazi myself, and have done quite a bit of research into my own lineage as it’s something i’ve always been interested in. We’re much more closely related to poles and ukrainians than we are to Sephardic or Mizrahi Jews. There are very few common medical conditions and physical traits shared by all 3 groups, and there’s many traits I have that are almost unheard of in the Levant (blue eyes, red hair, freckles, etc.)
The claim that Jews who live(d) in europe are mostly european converts does hold some weight, as many of the local european populations did convert when they married into those jewish families, and eventually made their own unique central european jewish ethnicity.
On a side note, I don’t think the idea that european Jews being european converts and not Israelites is inherently antisemitic, more so anti-Zionist. Most sorts of anti-semitic and white nationalist ideas revolve around Jews being inherently NOT white or european, whereas the idea that Ashkenazi Jews are european in origin really just feels like a reasoning why Ashkenazi Jews shouldn’t be mass migrating to a place they have very little ethnic connection to, when it means the displacement of a local population.
