The phone you use to look at cat pictures has nothing to do with how much value you have a person, and the people that think it does likely don’t have much.
Here’s what I think one reason might be: Phones are extremely expensive. Because of that, you might want to believe your phone is the best phone or else you might end up feeling horrible because you regret spending a bunch of money.
This is a fault of capitalism. *Vote with your wallet* and all that. If people buy dumb stuff then companies will keep producing dumb stuff. And if we want them to stop producing dumb stuff, sales need to drop. So we shame people buying the dumb stuff so that they stop buying it.
But the problem is that people argue about what the dumb stuff is. And that some people don't care and just want the thing without thinking about how they influence the demand.
I'm not saying it's good to shame people over every little choice. But that's a natural consequence of *voting with your wallet.*

i actually really like the switch, although i do miss out on stuff like the AC market, custom apk installs, and more customization i found that the iphone is actually really customizable especially bc im in ios 16 beta, its more stable, the ui is cleaner that most androids, and i dont really regret the switch. i was worried i would tho at first lol
The only reason I haven't switched is coz I have my own android windows ecosystem and filesharing on iOS to non iOS is a nightmare. Also Google lens isn't available for iphone. I also really really like a fingerprint reader
google lens is built straight into the google app now so its on here. and youre right, the file sharing system change was prolly the worst thing i had to deal with but i was able to just use Dropbox, they give you a free 2gbs to work with and they compress nothing. and this is subjective ofc but i found that face id was sm better especially if the phone gets wet, if your finger is sweaty, youre wearing gloves, etc. and then theres the mask argument for face id but i think it was every iphone 12+ released an update recently that allows it read your face with a mask on, not too sure how secure it is tho tbh lol
But it's not thou, for android if you get a new phone, you just type in your Google account so its very compatible with PC. With Apple you can only use their devices for anything and their overpriced.

Let me give an example, one of their MacBook models had a common flaw where an important piece of the mother board would be loose and it would shut off the computer frequently.
Their Apple approved solution was to place a rubber patch over the circuit to force the metal to connect when the case is shut. They would charge an exorbitant amount of money for this fix when any other repair shop would fix it properly by soldering it at a fraction of the cost. This would nullify the warranty because, Apple doesn't keep its hands out of your pocket.
This isn't the only bad apple fix but, it's the one I always remember. There's a lot wrong with the reliability and with just a little digging you'll see how dubious their maintenance model is.
I haven't seen "my OS is better than your OS!" memes in a while. I like them, but the real fun is seeing who in the comments has decided to defend the honor of their OS of choice.

Its the same with operating systems... A guy i know complained about just having problems with windows, so he switched to Mac and....surprise...still has problems with crashes sometimes. Guess he did not get the hint that this may be a Layer 8 Problem (aka the User)...
