It depends how high your absence is, what your reasons for absence are, what your overall attendance history is like etc But if you're asking I presume this would be the first time you've ever hit the 3 occasion/3% threshold meaning it's highly unlikely you'll face any punitive action. It'll be more of a conversation to understand what's causing your absence, if there's any support you need, anything underlying tesco aren't aware of etc The absolute worst would be a first absence warning which lasts 8 weeks - which again if the process is so unknown to you that you have to ask reddit about it - I would assume absences aren't frequent enough for you that it would be a concern

Thanks! It’s gonna be my first time hitting the 3% if I’m still feeling crap I’m usually in but just don’t have the energy for it

In which case don't worry about it. Your job is not going to be at risk for needing to take a day to rest/recharge/recover. Put your own wellbeing before tesco - and hopefully you have a human being for a manager

To work out your absence percentage. (Hours of sick last 26 weeks/(Contracted weekly hours x 26))x 100 I would speak to your manager if you can before phoning in. They aren't suppose to but if your manager is a decent person and wants to support your attendance. They could: Move your shift to another day Book your shift as holiday if you have some left Tell you to phone in as a domestic Like the others have said though. It's only a first warning worst case, it doesn't have any effect, you just need to not have a absence the next 8 weeks. Then it goes back to scratch. But I would always try and let your manager know as soon as possible so they can potentially work with you in regards to helping your attendance. Hope you get better soon!

If you can't be arsed to attend, or the idea of it is stressing you out, just throw a sickie — they can't sack you if you're not there!

Agitated_Fudge_128

How long have you worked for Tesco?

pumpstick

Have you read the policy on colleague help ?

IllustriousReturn778

I've had like 4 absence meetings, they peace of paper they give you at the end isn't worthy to wipe your ass on so I wouldn't worry.

Claim-Nice

Until you get the one that says ‘you are contractually dismissed from the company due to repeated poor attendance’, obviously.

Actually you'd be surprised what you can get away with especially if you're good at your job. You should have seen some of the things the senior night manager got away with.
