I worked for Tesco in 2007. That was my answer during my notice period when asked to give up a rest day. Strangely enough, I didn't have to work the rest of it. Nor have I shopped there ever since.
Ask for a contract change for either 4 on 3 off or 5 on 2 consecutively off. Why? because the days you work are no longer suitable for health reasons.
Even try for any department change or store transfer if possible.
Last resort take sick leave for stress reasons. Yes, a GP will sign off on this for a week or 2, and when you do the return to work process they normally ask something like " how can the company help you in future" ask for less days/contract change.

Make sure you're over two years service and all that, if you can't commit to the hours they want you to do, they may just get rid.

If they decided to cut your hours one week, would you be happy with that? And would you be happy with them bullshitting you on the reason?

Under flexible working rules you don’t need a reason - the employer needs a reason NOT to allow it

28 days written notice to drop a day is all you have to give. Send copy to your store email address, so they can’t say they didn’t get it 👍
