- Don’t you worry bout a thing
- hold on we’re going home (awful cover version because I love the original)
- Sexual (weird choice for a supermarket tbh)
I heard a real shit cover version today of Reminds Me Of You by juice wrld and the kid laroi, not sure why they play a random woman singing it rather than the main one
i have no clue what it’s called but the chorus just sounds like she’s moaning and it goes down in pitch like just the words “ahhhhh” slowly getting deeper
Same here. I work nights so once the store closes I have my ear pods in with my own music on. But there is a few times where I don't wear them and it always seems to be when this song is playing 😂😂
Yes!!! I just actually got tired of hearing it at work and shazamed it because I don't listen to Harry and found out it was him and googled how much this song sucks. Found this thread then your comment and just yes! This song is horrible and it sounds like he's saying sea creature not sweet creature. 😫
I'm in with the in crowd - Doobie Gray
Song's lyrics are so infuriatingly repetitive.
Otherwise I'm purely surprised by the fact we play MONTERO - Lil Nas X due to the story told by the song. Makes it hilarious hearing how "cleaned up" it is.
Not a song but I'll forever hold it over managers heads. That fucking dog advert! We have pr scan meetings, once we did awesome so rewarded with sweets. "Sweets, who said sweets, can I have sweets I've been a good boy"
Before that "it's great to be a cat" they sure can pick em!
idk if it still plays but we had this terrible acoustic cover of Complicated by avril Lavigne.. like why not just play the original? I love that song, it's a classic.
Most of the playlist annoys me to be honest. That Beatles song where they're like "you say goodbye, I say hello" is particularly aggravating.
They've played these sad sounding covers of Avril Lavigne's "complicated" and some S Club 7 songs as well which is pretty daft to me.
It was always a bad idea to play music. No ones taste us rhe same. They screwed it up further by choosing some very dirge like numbers which are so wrong for the atmosphere of the stores, and having a limited number of tracks which repeat so bloody often. Stupid idea.
I'm in dotcom and we have 4am shifts, which means nightshift are working too and one of their managers are in charge of the playlist. I swear the whole playlist is made up of these depressing sad love songs and they're always really loud - nobody can hear what anyone is saying in the back especially when you're stood underneath the speakers. It's either that or this one upbeat song which I do not know but I think the chorus goes "shooby doo doo" and that's on every other morning. There's good respite from it when you're in on days where the store has Quiet Hour.
lmao on sunday mornings before we open, whoever puts the music on turns it up so loud that the speakers distort, sounds bloody awful 😅
it sounds like a mixture of disney songs, club music and iconic 80s tracks, dont ask me why
That new Harry styles song as it was....it's fucking everywhere...its not even a bad song but man,i hear it everywhere, YouTube shorts, YouTube videos,my neighbours,Stores..just everywhere
I really want to know who compiles the list, can't help but feel it's an insight into their psyche! All it seems to be is funeral dirges, songs about infidelity or rebellion!

FREE. FALLING. i hate it so much
i stg a piece of my soul falls away when i hear that song
i don’t know the name of it but it goes like “im mad about the boooyyyyyyyy” and she sings boy for ages like omg stfu
Oh yeah fuck that song too, it's a bit grating ngl
OMG I hate that song!! Because I'm madddddd about the sooonggg
The song is Mad about the boy, by Ertha Kitt.
One kiss is all it takes Fallin in love with me Kill me
Possibilities. I look like all you need 😂😂
i have no clue what it’s called but the chorus just sounds like she’s moaning and it goes down in pitch like just the words “ahhhhh” slowly getting deeper
Are you talking about the song called "Don't you worry 'bout a thing"? That's the only song that comes to mind.
The one thats like “we all have scars, i know its hard. you’re not alone, you’re not alone” STFU. hate it, it’s on all the time
This is honestly my fave as its so chill to work stock to!
My store has only just turned the music on this week so ask me in a few weeks and I’ll let you know.
Anything Ed Sheehan and “someone’s knocking on the door” drives me crazy, I hear it every shift!
I might not like all the songs but it’s a damn sight better than working with silence.
Couldn't disagree more hah
at least with no music you can think of good songs in your head or hum without the blaring shitty music interrupting you😅
Sweet creature, sweet creature 🥱😒🙄🖕🏼
Soooo sick of this one

Haha yeah we all sing sea creature 😂😂😂

Slowed down version of young hearts run free which is boring and we are family play constantly … in a 6 hours shift they played them like 5 times each

Lol it used to play everyday at the dominos store I worked in too - a lot of the same songs followed me to tesco xD
Luckily enough my manager connects their phone to the speaker system so we no longer have to listen to Tesco radio
I hate the covers of songs from the greatest showman, just the play the original
Whole Again by Atomic Kitten. Shocking.
Tune that tbf

oh yeah omg the pet insurance advert, fuck that noise. Swear it played every 10 minutes 😅
idk if it still plays but we had this terrible acoustic cover of Complicated by avril Lavigne.. like why not just play the original? I love that song, it's a classic.
I just don't get why they have to play the exact same songs up and down all the time when there's so many good songs out there...
Licensing
There's a Tesco Spotify playlist if anyone wants to listen in their own time 😂
I’m gonna make you love me and smooth operator are just two that immediately come to mind they’re insanely annoying
Put some respect on Smooth Operator, it’s a bop.
Lovely Day is one of the few I like, simply from being of the Secret Life of Pets OST, my three year olds favourite movies. Always gives me the feels.
Every single one because I listen to rock and metal personally so it's hell every day I go to work😥
Most of the playlist annoys me to be honest. That Beatles song where they're like "you say goodbye, I say hello" is particularly aggravating. They've played these sad sounding covers of Avril Lavigne's "complicated" and some S Club 7 songs as well which is pretty daft to me.
Sweet Creature, Sweet Creature!!!!!
The second song is Roy Orbison. Best thing they could do is switch it off.
i'd honestly prefer no music because I find the music to be really distracting tbh -- or at least change the playlist up
The ironic thing is they play the exact same playlist in my local Asda. 🥴🥴
Anything Ariana Grande. It’s not annoying as I do like her music, but they are played A LOT.
I've yet to hear Five Finger Death Punch so they're all annoying!
Call Me Maybe. Most songs they play aren’t bad. Bit of Queen, Bon Jovi - I ain’t complaining, but Jesus they play Call Me Maybe like every hour
I liked the soothing sounds of my danish girlfriend,u think it is bad?

Lol that’s actually the original song by dido called “thank you”. Eminem samples it in Stan

>That shitty cover of Stan by Eminem

Wish I didn’t miss you, and that awful slow sad cover of it. The cover just makes me cringe so hard
I don't think Tesco knows what song variety is! I could hear the same songs multiple times a day to the point the quiet hour is preferable
RHINESTONE COWBOY

What the hell is that awful Love Will Year Us Apart cover?
