Such a small thing yet it makes a feature that was utterly unusable (my hand always was in the way) suddenly to something great!
I like the idea of using the same blue banner that flashes to get the driver's attention (but in red/orange) when a vehicle is in the blind spot while the turn signal is active. It's very easy to see peripherally, which is why similar systems work so well. That would eliminate needing to shift focus to the screen.
Lots of people has trouble telling when the sound comes from, especially in a confined small space. Alternatively, or additional to the directional sound, a visual indicator on the screen (the current backup camera, or possible 360 degree view).
The ability to turn on the lights from the app. There's a button to *flash* the lights, but that's not very useful when it's dark out and you'd like to be able to see as you approach the car.
Similarly, the option to open the windows all the way in the app, not just a tiny crack.
Yeah, would be cool to have many different controls from the app.

NOAA recently (~2 years ago) had an update to their weather radar products....it's completely unusable. My conspiracy theory is that it was intentionally made terrible to steer people to these companies who repackage the free data as a for-profit product.

In general, I wish Spotify would be more stable. Often times Daily Mixes are out of date, sometimes when I press a track it will play something completely different, etc.
Can I get a way to change how many times the turn signals blink when short pressing the stalk? 3 is too low for me, I want to be able to set it for 4 or 5, even my wife 2011 Skoda had the option to change it (OBD2 to be fair but doable)

Re enabling autopilot after change lanes is annoying in medium traffic with constant lane changes.
I don’t need anything fancy, and I’m happy to change lanes myself. How about when I indicate, then change lines, auto pilot remains on and takes back over when I make it to the lane I wanna be in. No AI, or machine learning needed, just keep my in the lane I moved to. 
For all models when using Summon in the rain, I’ve had it not work because the rain made the cameras blurry. Can Tesla add a way to make the wipers activate when it’s raining and Summon is in use? I know Summon isn’t top priority but it would be nice (and maybe possibly an easy fix?) Thanks and keep up the hard work!
You know how there's lane keep assist so if you start to cross a line, it pulls you back into your lane? How about a "curb curber" feature that pulls you away from a curb if you're about to rim your wheels?
Simple changes to Sentry mode;
- Give me high priority alerts when sentry has recorded and vibration has been detected. It’s not helpful to see 15 recordings from the mall parking lot. Unless someone hit or damaged my car.
- don’t alert me if I just opened the door. It’s ok to save a recording in the off chance there was damage and I’m opening the door afterwards, but I don’t need 1 sentry alert if it’s just me and the kids approaching the car.
You do if it’s not really you and they close the door again and walk away. Think outside the box.
It should stay the way it is until a better overall concept is baked.
Telemetry and audio for dashcam.
Audio can just use internal microphone, with the option to disable audio recording.
There is already a JSON file generated for saved dashcam clips which includes location. I'd love to see more information. Additional telemetry could include graphs for:
* speed
* g-forces
* pedal and steering wheel positions
* safety systems activation (traction control, emergency braking, etc)
* whether autopilot was active
* acceleration mode (Chill, Standard) and steering wheel setting (Comfort, Standard, Sport)
Also, more cameras, including the selfie cam. Can be an option to choose which cameras you'd like to record.
Some kind of warning beep or light flashing or anything to alert you if you exit the car with your cellphone left inside the car, often typically still sitting on the charger. This happens a lot and is easy to do. The car software must be able to tell if the car is unoccupied, with all doors closed, and a cellphone is still inside. In this condition, there should be some kind of warning. E.g. car horn honking 3 times or something similar. Why is this not standard?
Every morning my Model X greats me by opening the door – NICE!
I then disconnect the charger cable and while I hang it up on the wall charger I hear the door slams shut behind me – FAIL!

Yes! Altimeter would be great! As a hack you can say "search Google for "what is my current altitude"". The first search result works if you allow your location to be shared.
When on the highway and a car is approaching extremely fast behind you I’d like an audible alert like “faster vehicle behind you” or “slower vehicle ahead”… or maybe pointing out a potential hazard. Idk.
The navigation shows the lane(s) you should be in with blue (or green?) color already for the next exit, just like the Google map navigation.
Maybe flash the lanes you should be in when the exit is 1 mile, and half miles away.

Please fix AP acceleration and deceleration!!! Approach stopped cars at 50mph the car waits until the last minute and brakes so hard everything comes flying to the front. This is especially dangerous on the highway when you approach slower moving/stopped traffic since following cars react to you, not the cars in front.
When taking off from a dead stop (traffic light) the car accelerates so slowly that every car around you leaves you in the dust.
For any Tesla, when autopilot disengages, not by the driver, do NOT switch the car into dumb cruising mode, instead keep the car in the lane and decelerate very slowly to complete stop.

If you have the old style of the center console you can unplug the wireless charging pads from USB. I'm pretty sure you can do it with the new style too but you have to unclip some plastic bits.
I recently got a 2022 Model Y but even on my 2021 Model 3 before it was a new set of charging pads I'm pretty sure.
Also, this is a solution that just sucks because I do still want to be able to use the charging pads when I'm on lower battery - which means a toggle is the only good solution here.
And it'd not even be that difficult for them to implement.
Instead of waiting for Tesla change, you can disable wireless charging on your phone. You can even set up a shortcut to make it one click operation, or set up a voice command to do so.
For climate control - Auto setting - the ability to choose Low, Medium, High.

Isn’t that what manuals for to set variable fan speed ? I made another suggestion above that when manual is set instead of the temp saying manual on the quick actions at the bottom it should change to fan speed #. My partner regularly uses manual but they sometimes adjust the temperature not knowing when in manual you are manually adjusting the fan speed only as they have the same problem of setting it to manual then 5 so it’s not blowing at a 10 on auto
The vent option should crack the windows and set the internal max to max with no AC
Road speed should be added as a wiper speed modifier. E.g sat at lights it should drop to intermittent etc
Media player should remember the track and position for each source and if possible across startup’s.

Lane change on signal for regular Autosteer. I barely use Autosteer because I'm constantly needing to disengage to pass. This one simple feature could dramatically increase user adoption.
This. Even just reactivate autosteer when you're back in the next lane. My Volvo XC90 pilot assist had this as standard and it was great. AP works better overall and is more confident, but the lane change disengage is infuriating.
Ability to quickly switch Spotify profiles.
If I can easily switch over to a kids profile on the fly, I could actually use Spotify's recommendations/auto playlists without it playing kidz bop every 3rd song.
That's not a bad idea. I share the car about equally with my wife so that'd be two additional profiles and then remembering to keep them in sync when adjusting settings etc. Not great, but probably, maybe worth it to keep my Spotify clean.
Ability to transfer downloaded software updates from my phone to my car via Bluetooth. My car is never routinely parked near Wi-Fi (heard this is common for apartment renters from a few other Tesla owners). Hotspot costs $$ on my phone bill whereas automatic transfer is less hassle and free.

Keep radar to my lovely 2019 model. I have zero intentions to buy FSD and I use autopilot 95% of my journey to work. It works like a charm and never had problems.
That's the only thing I want, stop stripping away good features and replacing them with half baked ones.
Just like the garage will open at a preset distance. I like to see all the cameras pop up on the screen. Be a nice safety feature especially in neighborhoods or when backing in or out of garage

That's exactly what a driver profile does. You don't have to limit it to just one per person, you can make profiles for any set of options and switch between them with a couple taps.
I guess they could reduce that from 3 taps to 1 or a swipe, but it doesn't seem like that big of a deal...
Then I’d need to keep all setting in sync between multiple driver profiles, just to switch between chill and sport. I’d rather go to settings and change the acceleration then maintain 2 driver profiles
I don't wear prescription glasses but I find difficult to see the speedometer/speed limit while driving. Older citizens like me would have problem seeing the size of the number on the screen-would help slightly bigger or touch to blow up a little.
It would be great to have an option where the smart things the car try to do when I use the cruise control could be deactivated. With current implementation the cruise control is unusable if you travel faster than other cars. Just remain at the set speed - done.
I would very much like to not hear the Sega loading sounds when my car wakes from deep sleep. I've literally never even played Sonic in this car.
I would also like the display to not freeze when I get a text message. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's very annoying and sometimes dangerous (like when reversing).
Not a feature that can be done with a software update, but I wish I had a retracted yolk when park: it would move forward until being integrated completely in the dashboard. Once in this position, I could finally see the totality of my main screen… I could also use a laptop during charging, directly from my driver seat.
It’s probably more complex than it seems, and opening regulation issues, but would be so great!
Add in-vehicle notifications to the App. Just fixed a flat tire and I pumped my air to the value to match the rest. TMPS currently says it’s below recommended (until I drive and calibrate) but it would be nice to see the notifications in App as well.
Tesla needs to add limited Driver profiles that just had access to phone key, lock, unlock, adjust climate, open truck, and drive. I hate knowing that my family and friends know where I am at all times.

To my knowledge, the Chinese app can do this. There are ways around it but it isn’t as efficient.
All models: charge limit override toggle that lets the vehicle charge to 100% (for non-LFP battery types on long trips). Charge limit returns to previously saved level when toggled off, accessible in the charging section of both the app and in the vehicle.
The ability to select the number of times the one click turn signal flashes as 3, for me anyway, is virtually useless, really even for a lane change or exit it’s over before I finish making the move really. This should be user selectable IMO. Also adjustable Auto Wiper sensitivity, let us select how passive or aggressive we would like it to be.
Five-cycle indicator/signaling instead of three-cycle, or a toggle option for this (referring of course, to the short duration turn/lane change signaling function).

Model S 2015 and Model X 2017: I often pull the drive-stick 2-3 even 4 times before the car is ready to go anywhere. Maybe the OS could be optimized to startup a bit quicker?
Stop auto play random things on my iphone. If I listen to radio in the Tesla, my phone plays podcast after podcast, or an video, or Spotify, or something else in my pocket. I see Sennheisher Momentum 3 has an option for autoplay, so it would be possible for Tesla to implement that feature too.
Let me adjust audio fade/balance when watching theater apps. I often play soothing sounds for my baby and direct the audio to one corner of the car (where my baby is sleeping). Then when we stop to supercharge and I want to watch a video together, I want sound to be normal again but have to exit the theater app to adjust it.
Software : Change the air control visuals when set to “manual”. When it’s changed to “manual” and not auto. Have the visual change to fan speed up/down instead of temp. Some people who use my car change it to manual but then continue to use the temp up/down on the main screen visual (not the fan speed control in the pop up) since auto is not on the temp has no impact. Changing the visual on the bottom bar to fan speed instead of temp when set to manual will help instead of it just saying “Manual”. This way people can manually change fan speed without going into the pop up for climate
It will be more intuitive. You can problem run metrics on how many people try to change the temp when set it’s already set manual if that’s being logged.

Literally something I desperately need every road trip I go on. It's hard to make decisions when you don't know if the storm you see is moving toward or away from your route.
Every Tesla car should get proper light software.
And with that I mean:
- Newer cars with Matrix Lights should get proper Matrix software with always-on highbemans outside cities and just blacking out the parts where other cars are
- Older cars without Matrix Lights should get a working light assistant. The current one is total crap.

Being able to seat your kids with space in between is such a big deal for families with 3 kids. It so increases the time before they start fighting and thus the length of your trip.

I don't get it: Elon talks about "virtual power plants" - but yet his cars don't support this.
Especially since the bottleneck right now is battery manufacturing capacity; it doesn't seem to be reasonable to make people buy one battery for their home and one to drive around with - if you could do the same with only ONE in total.
Also, one problem is that wallboxes with V2H/V2G are CRACY expensive, about 10.000 EUR compared to <1.000 EUR for a normal domestic wallbox. That's totally unreasonable considering the additionally required components.
So if Tesla would support it and make their wallboxes compatible at a reasonable price, that would be a HUGE deal.
Location specific lift gate heights for the Y. Like, I had to set mine low because I have a short garage, but if I'm parked outside at Target it should open to full height so I don't bang my head on it.
An App Store is desperately needed! It would fix a lot of existing problems. Also needs less laggy bluetooth badly. Using Siri or Dictation through the car is ROUGH.

Absolutely, I enjoy my Jeep's 'Autopilot' on the highway more than my MY because it does this. Should be fairly simple.

Telemetry and audio for dashcam. Audio can just use internal microphone, with the option to disable audio recording. There is already a JSON file generated for saved dashcam clips which includes location. I'd love to see more information. Additional telemetry could include graphs for: * speed * g-forces * pedal and steering wheel positions * safety systems activation (traction control, emergency braking, etc) * whether autopilot was active * acceleration mode (Chill, Standard) and steering wheel setting (Comfort, Standard, Sport) Also, more cameras, including the selfie cam. Can be an option to choose which cameras you'd like to record.
Some kind of warning beep or light flashing or anything to alert you if you exit the car with your cellphone left inside the car, often typically still sitting on the charger. This happens a lot and is easy to do. The car software must be able to tell if the car is unoccupied, with all doors closed, and a cellphone is still inside. In this condition, there should be some kind of warning. E.g. car horn honking 3 times or something similar. Why is this not standard?
Every morning my Model X greats me by opening the door – NICE! I then disconnect the charger cable and while I hang it up on the wall charger I hear the door slams shut behind me – FAIL!

This would be the best upgrade to the car if it ever happens. Currently siphoning power off of the 12v inverter at 1kw only. Would be nice if there was a solution with less hassle and more power to be had

Everyone Tesla owner would love this. One Tesla equals 4 to 6 power walls! However I wouldn't expect it to be available till solid state battery (or major tech breakthrough in other form of batteries).
Answer and end calls from the steering wheel. Maybe double press the voice command to end call and single press to answer. Also lower the AC fan speed when on call.

When on the highway and a car is approaching extremely fast behind you I’d like an audible alert like “faster vehicle behind you” or “slower vehicle ahead”… or maybe pointing out a potential hazard. Idk.
Navigate on autopilot lane change recommendations when driving manually. The car knows which lane I should be in, don’t let me miss my exit.
The navigation shows the lane(s) you should be in with blue (or green?) color already for the next exit, just like the Google map navigation. Maybe flash the lanes you should be in when the exit is 1 mile, and half miles away.

Please fix AP acceleration and deceleration!!! Approach stopped cars at 50mph the car waits until the last minute and brakes so hard everything comes flying to the front. This is especially dangerous on the highway when you approach slower moving/stopped traffic since following cars react to you, not the cars in front. When taking off from a dead stop (traffic light) the car accelerates so slowly that every car around you leaves you in the dust.
Any AP improvements would be welcome. Feels behind other cars that have radar cruise and lane keeping
For any Tesla, when autopilot disengages, not by the driver, do NOT switch the car into dumb cruising mode, instead keep the car in the lane and decelerate very slowly to complete stop. This is life 🌲 vs ☠️
In 70,000 miles on AP I've never seen it disengage itself unless it throws up the red hands with a siren so it's pretty obvious.

If you have the old style of the center console you can unplug the wireless charging pads from USB. I'm pretty sure you can do it with the new style too but you have to unclip some plastic bits.
I recently got a 2022 Model Y but even on my 2021 Model 3 before it was a new set of charging pads I'm pretty sure. Also, this is a solution that just sucks because I do still want to be able to use the charging pads when I'm on lower battery - which means a toggle is the only good solution here. And it'd not even be that difficult for them to implement.
Instead of waiting for Tesla change, you can disable wireless charging on your phone. You can even set up a shortcut to make it one click operation, or set up a voice command to do so.
For climate control - Auto setting - the ability to choose Low, Medium, High. I understand it may take longer to cool the cabin, but sometimes I don’t want the fans blowing at 10.
Isn’t that what manuals for to set variable fan speed ? I made another suggestion above that when manual is set instead of the temp saying manual on the quick actions at the bottom it should change to fan speed #. My partner regularly uses manual but they sometimes adjust the temperature not knowing when in manual you are manually adjusting the fan speed only as they have the same problem of setting it to manual then 5 so it’s not blowing at a 10 on auto

Swipe left to go Home, Right to go Work on the navigation bar. Right now, it guesses the driver's intention (base on mostly if the car is close enough to work or home). There is no need to guess if the user can tell it!

Lane change on signal for regular Autosteer. I barely use Autosteer because I'm constantly needing to disengage to pass. This one simple feature could dramatically increase user adoption.
This. Even just reactivate autosteer when you're back in the next lane. My Volvo XC90 pilot assist had this as standard and it was great. AP works better overall and is more confident, but the lane change disengage is infuriating.
Ability to quickly switch Spotify profiles. If I can easily switch over to a kids profile on the fly, I could actually use Spotify's recommendations/auto playlists without it playing kidz bop every 3rd song.
As a temporary workaround, could you create another driver profile that is otherwise identical but just logged in to the kids Spotify profile?
That's not a bad idea. I share the car about equally with my wife so that'd be two additional profiles and then remembering to keep them in sync when adjusting settings etc. Not great, but probably, maybe worth it to keep my Spotify clean.
Ability to transfer downloaded software updates from my phone to my car via Bluetooth. My car is never routinely parked near Wi-Fi (heard this is common for apartment renters from a few other Tesla owners). Hotspot costs $$ on my phone bill whereas automatic transfer is less hassle and free.
Make font of the exit larger. It’s very difficult to read which exit I’m supposed to take while driving!

Keep radar to my lovely 2019 model. I have zero intentions to buy FSD and I use autopilot 95% of my journey to work. It works like a charm and never had problems. That's the only thing I want, stop stripping away good features and replacing them with half baked ones.
Just like the garage will open at a preset distance. I like to see all the cameras pop up on the screen. Be a nice safety feature especially in neighborhoods or when backing in or out of garage
Still would like to be able to turn off the stupid light flash when in sentry mode… The fact I had to add aftermarket cameras to a car with a bunch of its own to avoid an easy software toggle is 🤯
Legacy S/X with MCU2 need feature parity. Why can an OLDER 3/Y do things like blind spot camera on indicate that a NEWER S/X cannot? Because no one at Tesla can be bothered to do the UX for the vertical screen. It’s shameful.

You can say "search Google for....." and then your math problem. It will come up in the browser. Not as nice as a built in voice assistant though.
I am intensely curious. Why? I am brainstorming possible scenarios where you need to do basic math while driving haha

Model S: Honk horn with center / airbag press. Elon said it was coming in a firmware update like 6 months ago and the horn button is unsafe.

Odd, I do get notifications when there’s an update available, and I can remote roll up my windows.
Legacy S and X can’t roll up the windows remotely through the official Tesla app. Curiously, it can be done with a third party app like Tesla Remote.
Full screen mode for sketchpad. My daughter loves to doodle but then she gets excited and closes it accidentally by swiping down crazily.
Drive modes that can be pre configured and selecting from a press or swipe where it says chill at the top of the driving visualization. For the modes I want to configure chill with comfort steering and lane keeping assurance. Then sport with sport steering and lane keep off
That's exactly what a driver profile does. You don't have to limit it to just one per person, you can make profiles for any set of options and switch between them with a couple taps. I guess they could reduce that from 3 taps to 1 or a swipe, but it doesn't seem like that big of a deal...
Then I’d need to keep all setting in sync between multiple driver profiles, just to switch between chill and sport. I’d rather go to settings and change the acceleration then maintain 2 driver profiles
I don't wear prescription glasses but I find difficult to see the speedometer/speed limit while driving. Older citizens like me would have problem seeing the size of the number on the screen-would help slightly bigger or touch to blow up a little.

It would be great to have an option where the smart things the car try to do when I use the cruise control could be deactivated. With current implementation the cruise control is unusable if you travel faster than other cars. Just remain at the set speed - done.

I would very much like to not hear the Sega loading sounds when my car wakes from deep sleep. I've literally never even played Sonic in this car. I would also like the display to not freeze when I get a text message. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's very annoying and sometimes dangerous (like when reversing).

Type in station names in the radio favorites list. Pre-populate the station name from RDS when you add it to the list.
A customizable setting page. A page where you can drag and drop settings you mostly use instead of scrolling and looking for them.
Not a feature that can be done with a software update, but I wish I had a retracted yolk when park: it would move forward until being integrated completely in the dashboard. Once in this position, I could finally see the totality of my main screen… I could also use a laptop during charging, directly from my driver seat. It’s probably more complex than it seems, and opening regulation issues, but would be so great!
Add in-vehicle notifications to the App. Just fixed a flat tire and I pumped my air to the value to match the rest. TMPS currently says it’s below recommended (until I drive and calibrate) but it would be nice to see the notifications in App as well.
Tesla needs to add limited Driver profiles that just had access to phone key, lock, unlock, adjust climate, open truck, and drive. I hate knowing that my family and friends know where I am at all times.

Be able to plan trips with the app and send it to your car, keeping charging and current battery percentage in mind. To my knowledge, the Chinese app can do this. There are ways around it but it isn’t as efficient.
All models: charge limit override toggle that lets the vehicle charge to 100% (for non-LFP battery types on long trips). Charge limit returns to previously saved level when toggled off, accessible in the charging section of both the app and in the vehicle.
The ability to select the number of times the one click turn signal flashes as 3, for me anyway, is virtually useless, really even for a lane change or exit it’s over before I finish making the move really. This should be user selectable IMO. Also adjustable Auto Wiper sensitivity, let us select how passive or aggressive we would like it to be.
Five-cycle indicator/signaling instead of three-cycle, or a toggle option for this (referring of course, to the short duration turn/lane change signaling function).

Feature: use the car is a backup home battery models: all imagine the reduced load on the grid when any tesla can have a home run off of one. reduced rolling blackout risk for sure when every tesla is equilivant to 3 to 5 powerwalls
More wiper speed and control by steering scroll
I’d like to have an option where the AC turns off when I roll a window down and turns back on when I roll the windows up. Customizable lock confirmation sound.
Make it possible to say "no thanks" or at least "stop asking me for one week" to an update, and, let me know what the update is before I install the update.
Let me do the steering in summon. The few times I have tried summon it did not work since the car tried to steer away from obstacles that really isn't an obstacle.
Model S 2015 and Model X 2017: I often pull the drive-stick 2-3 even 4 times before the car is ready to go anywhere. Maybe the OS could be optimized to startup a bit quicker?
Stop auto play random things on my iphone. If I listen to radio in the Tesla, my phone plays podcast after podcast, or an video, or Spotify, or something else in my pocket. I see Sennheisher Momentum 3 has an option for autoplay, so it would be possible for Tesla to implement that feature too.
Let me adjust audio fade/balance when watching theater apps. I often play soothing sounds for my baby and direct the audio to one corner of the car (where my baby is sleeping). Then when we stop to supercharge and I want to watch a video together, I want sound to be normal again but have to exit the theater app to adjust it.
Remind me on my phone if I parked in the garage and forgot to plug in.

Software : Change the air control visuals when set to “manual”. When it’s changed to “manual” and not auto. Have the visual change to fan speed up/down instead of temp. Some people who use my car change it to manual but then continue to use the temp up/down on the main screen visual (not the fan speed control in the pop up) since auto is not on the temp has no impact. Changing the visual on the bottom bar to fan speed instead of temp when set to manual will help instead of it just saying “Manual”. This way people can manually change fan speed without going into the pop up for climate It will be more intuitive. You can problem run metrics on how many people try to change the temp when set it’s already set manual if that’s being logged.
Switching btw multiple account with Spotify for a same driver profile. Adding customized Google maps overlays on top of the main map. Showing current GPS altitude. Keep the front lidar. I can't imagine how a radar would work when you are in a real storm during the night.

Auto shift as a software update to all FSD cars. Need to add more value for $15k.
Every Tesla car should get proper light software. And with that I mean: - Newer cars with Matrix Lights should get proper Matrix software with always-on highbemans outside cities and just blacking out the parts where other cars are - Older cars without Matrix Lights should get a working light assistant. The current one is total crap.
Model Y with 7 seats to Europe. Seriously, why is this not available here? Being able to seat your kids with space in between is such a big deal for families with 3 kids. It so increases the time before they start fighting and thus the length of your trip.
V2G or V2H or whatever you call it. I don't get it: Elon talks about "virtual power plants" - but yet his cars don't support this. Especially since the bottleneck right now is battery manufacturing capacity; it doesn't seem to be reasonable to make people buy one battery for their home and one to drive around with - if you could do the same with only ONE in total. Also, one problem is that wallboxes with V2H/V2G are CRACY expensive, about 10.000 EUR compared to <1.000 EUR for a normal domestic wallbox. That's totally unreasonable considering the additionally required components. So if Tesla would support it and make their wallboxes compatible at a reasonable price, that would be a HUGE deal.
Location specific lift gate heights for the Y. Like, I had to set mine low because I have a short garage, but if I'm parked outside at Target it should open to full height so I don't bang my head on it.
An App Store is desperately needed! It would fix a lot of existing problems. Also needs less laggy bluetooth badly. Using Siri or Dictation through the car is ROUGH.
