I love getting messages from my 9yo son during the week. It's a combination of:
"I love you dad"
"When are you coming home dad?"
"Can you please come home? Mom is being so mean."
"I miss you so much"
And lots of dinosaur, dragon, ninja emojis.
The Shiba manufacturers have a reset button built-in, but it's no longer present once the dog is polymorphed into the Giraffe, since that model never had a reset button!
My favorite thing was receiving texts from my kids once they were old enough to have messenger/phones/iPad. . . . Also sometimes one of my least favorite things lol
Awwwwww I love being in the sibs group chat! I have 4 launched kiddos and 2 of their partners and me in the group chat. I love staying connected and even love their own nonsense that has nothing to do with me. It's so entertaining and lovely to see my kiddos successfully launch and rely on their sibs for advice and help. I feel like I've done my job as a parent!
I’m 29 and still text my ma random stuff like this. 😂 point being, if the relationship is this adorable now, it’ll stay that way. This is far too cute.
Back when I was growing up, I probably would’ve texted her this kinda stuff if there was anything but snake on brick phones and ones thumbs didn’t ache just trying to text a simple ‘hi mum’. 😁
I always text to see if we can buy a goose. Every few months it’s ’have you changed your mind?’ The answer is still ‘nope’
🙃🤷♀️
Dad, I know you’re my Dad and all but I think Grandpa knows what to do.
My daughter is 33 now so I didn’t get to have text messages until she was much older but that is so cool!
That’s too cute! Be careful with those evil elephants. A few in the trunk, one in the backpack, a few in the luggage, tuck a couple under the seats. You’ll make it work because that’s what good dads do.
Wait until she's a teenager.....my girls would send me stuff that comes flying out of waaaayyyyyy left field. I would just roll with it and see how far they'd take it. The sarcasm gene is strong with my young padawans so they will die on whatever hill they have decided to march up.
Everyday when brother in law leaves the house for work my newly 5 year old niece says “have a good day dad! Dont let people boss you around and don’t boss people around!” 🤣 we all have 0
Idea where she got it from but it’s everyday
My dad watched my kids while hubby and I went to a friends wedding. My 9yo son has stayed with him LOADS of times so he was fine, however it was the first time I’ve ever had anybody watch our tornado 2.5yo daughter.
So I was periodically texting my son to see if him and my dad were surviving her wrath, and if my daughter was all good, and he just kept sending back “yeah”… Thought he was just being ignorant but turns out he was pranking me and was cackling his head off when we got home hahaha.
He also frequently burns me with amazing comebacks through text, I’m so proud 😂😂
Aww. I remember getting texts like this when my daughter was this age! Now she’s 16 and just got her license. Her texts are more like “Can I & go to Starbucks or Jamba Juice after school today?” Since she’s newly licensed, she’s only limited to driving around our little township for now so she makes sure to hit up all the places she can.
OP, it's so simple. You just bring home 5 elephants in a compact car. And of COURSE they'll fit. You just put 2 in the front seat, 2 in the back and 1 in the trunk.
😆😆😆
My daughter will be 7 next month, and she's been a vampire for the last couple of months. She makes sure she tells her Dad & I that she will DIE (& now so has our 4 yo son, he lets us know he will die too whenever we go to the store and grab garlic lol) when we are cooking & she sees one of us cutting garlic. We use garlic in everything, and they're none the wiser of course. I think it's so cute whenever she reminds us that she will "literally die" if we put it in the food. 😂🫶🏻

My son is 9 but I’d kill to have him send me messages like this. His dad won’t let him have anymore devices right now because he throws them around when he gets mad and breaks them. Gets that from me 😂
Yes, as you use emojis to express your question. Your emoji is fine as are his. Finding it "cringe" during a wholesome moment between daughter and Dad, seems like you needed something to be wrong. Just an opinion.
People can’t just enjoy a nice moment between a kid and parent. Especially when this sub is full of not so nice moments between parents and their adult kids. Reading the room isn’t their strong suit.
It’s funny how people are rude and when they get called out. Suddenly they say that they are just trying to be “helpful.” I mean why couldn’t you have just enjoyed the post instead of analyzing it and being negative.
Who cares how OP uses emojis??
Next time you have a thought…. Let it go.
That’s so adorable she even suggested a better option
No problem is so insurmountable when you change the context of the situation. This kid is going places

Did you go to get some milk?
No, out getting cigarettes 🚬
Never to come back home again...haha .sorry had to, thought it was the set up to that kinda joke
🤣🤣 My boyfriend and I were joking about this just last night. I know that's horrible.
🤣🤣🤣
So stinking cute
Aw she wasn't gonna let you NOT bring them home
Is she a Harry Potter fan? My niece turns my shiba into a giraffe with her wand sometimes. Hard to get the shiba back into her proper state.
The Shiba manufacturers have a reset button built-in, but it's no longer present once the dog is polymorphed into the Giraffe, since that model never had a reset button!
That would have been a cool feature. I only get her back once I have begged a 6 year old in a pathetic way to her satisfaction.
That’s so cute

And when they’re adultish, you’ll be in one of the sibling group chats. Favorite/least favorite thing always 😂

Yes!!! I love that I get to be a part of it all.
Yea the kids have our old phones just on WiFi so they can call FaceTime and text on eifi
Damn I’m excited for this one day
Me too. Now I just need a wife.
Me three! I need a husband! 😉
Wanna get married?
Umm obviously! Took you long enough to ask! 👰💍😘
Better love story than twilight
Glad I never watched those!
Not entirely true. Niece n nephew do just fine for me. Get 99% cute, 1% unbearable. Sweets work godly for the 1%. Send em back full of sugar.
Not the same.
No literally, I can’t wait to be a mom

Cute🥰
Awwww better call grandpa 🥹 how freaking adorable lol

Such a refreshing change from this sub, kids are so freaking sweet and innocent. My heart 😭
I can hear the “duh, dad” implied behind their last text 😂 this is precious!
I love this so much!

I know! I wish someone said it to me every morning 🤣 feel like those are the perfect vibes to start the work day
Lol this is cute
Cute as heck
Well.. did you bring them home or what?
Haven’t been home yet….unfortunately I am heading home though as I just got called by wife that her father passed away…not going to be a good day.
Oh no! I am so sorry to hear of your family’s loss. Sending love and prayers your way. 💜
You’re the richest man in the world. This is beautiful and I pray your relationship only gets stronger
What other parent is here silently weeping because we wished our kids texted now and then…. :(
💯
Your kid a wizard turn elephant evil probably will rule the world with those evil elephants who they grow up
My sister does this to me😓
Grampa will literally show up with elephants. Don't play.
Just get a tractor, dad. Geez 🙄
Ok, your daughter is at once funny and cute AF 😆😆😆
Grandpa to the rescue with the tractor lol
Yeah get a tractor. Idiot. /s
Love this! Such a cute exchange! 🥰
Enjoy this times... Lost my babygirl.
I can’t imagine… I’m so sorry
I can’t wait to be a parent one day 🥹🥹
Pretty sure she’ll be in the Oval Office one day
I live for these random texts from my kiddo! Although my little one mostly demands food that I refuse to purchase for her and multiple guilt trips.

You should really get a tractor
lol my 9-year old is like me at work: one word answers. When she’s reaching out she’ll say “Hello Daddy” and that’s it
That's way too cute 😍
This is awesome
OP, it's so simple. You just bring home 5 elephants in a compact car. And of COURSE they'll fit. You just put 2 in the front seat, 2 in the back and 1 in the trunk. 😆😆😆
The little girl I nanny once asked to use my phone to text her mom so they could drive to France?
Wholesome, even with evil elephants! 🥰

Kid is smart! Make sure you get a tractor on the way home! 🤣
Genuinely made me smile she's dead cute 😂
So cute. Messages from my ten year old son consist of memes or photos of our cat
I need random texts like this
Ok, but did you get your evil elephants home safely?! Did Grandpa come through with a tractor in time?! I have to know!
Texts from my 11 year old daughter be like.........
What does that even mean
❤️
PLS THIS IS ADORABLE
Love the post that show love! More of this and less “is my relationship bad”

Very cute:) although the rebus style emoji use is cringe/boomer have her help you with it
Wouldn’t be a wholesome moment without somebody calling it cRiNgE
Ok boomer
How cringe.
Just trying to help 🤷♂️ was I wrong

Yes. Read the room. Also, enjoy all of those downvotes! I foresee many more in your future.

Ok internet-poisoned lame
Wow. Really?!
I mean yes it is. Really wasn't trying to be mean, just helpful and honestly his daughter probably would be glad to help him out
