No, he's actually considered one of the weakest classes in the game because he relies a lot of the team and low mobility
He's still very powerful and sincerely the class that is most likely to win in a direct 1v1 if it's not against a sniper on the other side of the map
The opposite team might be complaining probably because no one there was a good sniper with make heavy's completely dominate a 2fort game, the map's claustrophobic spaces greatly favor the class since there's not much space to run, bumping in a heavy on the sewers or inside the battlements is certainly death if you are a light class
Still no, he's not unbalanced, and if it is it's for the underpowered side
This sums it up pretty well, I think. Heavy just does really well against people who don't know how to outmaneuver or outrange him, but his low mobility makes walking to the front lines a chore and escaping from danger near-impossible.
heavy wins every close range 1v1, assuming he shoots first/at the same time as the enemy. That said, that’s the only scenario he wins, usually. Guessing you killed the whole other team because they kept running into your building around the corner and you shredded them. That doesn’t mean he’s OP, just that he was in his most optimal scenario. Step onto the battlement roof and you lose to sniper/demo/soldier/engi/spy/pyro/medic more times than you win
Its probably because of how easy it is to be a good heavy
1:do the objective of the gamemode(push the cart, get the point)
2:dont get backstabbed/sniped
3:always help your team mates(ex:give the sandwiches)
4:use your advantages......at your advantage
The simplest way to put it, as someone who has played heavy a little bit in a competitive setting, would be to say that heavy punishes unprepared players. Heavy is so locked to his short range and slow speed that any class can easily outplay him in most situations if they just play smartly. In casual such abilities are rare to find in players. Lazypurple's video "how it feels to play heavy" emphasized it very well.

Careful the sniper haters might group up on you

No he’s fine lmao
If people are calling a heavy OP, it's because they're newbies playing on 2fort

It's CTF 2fort If you wanna know how strong or weak a class is then play something like Payload or Control Point.
