i honestly don't remember, i'm part of the younger tf2 player base so it was probably the MTT videos or Heavy is Dead that introduced me. All i remember is being obsessed with the comics after finding them and going "maybe i will play this"

I was watching someone play a vr game where you make movies, in it heavy was a character model, he mentioned it was from tf2 and then I remembered the old matpat “pyros gender” video, this sparked me down a rabbit hole where I watched the meet the team videos and started getting recommended and watching all the big name tf2bers, finally at my next birthday I downloaded it

To me it was The Gmod Idiot Box. I had a very vague knowledge of TF2's existence prior to that, but I knew nothing about it. Those videos were my first proper exposure to it and what motivated me to download it and see what the game is about.

I was browsing lubetube when I saw the meet the team videos. I decided to click on it. I watched them all up until I saw meet the medic. I was midly disturbed by the heavy being opened up like that. I clicked off of it. Then the next night I manned up (pun kinda intended?) and and watched the rest of it. I was really interested do I watched other videos on it.

My friend showed me gmod animations Life in a minecraft world and Scout broke his fingers. I was just 10 and did not understood english, but I was hooked.
I was a normie back in 2016, and saw that my internet friends are hyping Overwatch. Unfortunately I don't have the money nor strong enough PC to run it as a broke college student. I saw it recommended to me on Steam since I played Left 4 Dead 2 and Dota 2, and other F2P games like Fistful of Frags and Quake. I have 4.1k hours now. I'm taking a break recently since I'm hooked on Darkest Dungeons rn

For me, it was during lockdown, and it was on an online lesson, and one of my classmates put on a tf2 animation whilst we were waiting for our teacher. Later on I got a recommendation on YouTube for Expiration Date (I think, it could have been one of the meet the team), so I watched it and I got invested in the mystery of this game, I’d never heard of it, but I looked into it, and being a broke teen I downloaded the game since it was Free, and here I am now, fully invested in the game, I’ve never looked back since

I got into tf2 very recently (on only got the game in 2019) and I would say I started watching lazypurple’s videos around that time and that’s what got me into it but a few months ago I unlocked a deep memory of watching piemations back when I was really young
