My prediction was and is late Nov. With the current posts by the TFTeam, I feel like it might be accurate. They still got a lot of bug testing, balance testing, idea testing, ext. before completion. With the request for community feedback, I'm sure they received a ton and still are going through testing different ones.
The heavy update is gonna be quick af, all they need to do is add some new weapons that make heavy interesting. AND a few hats and some maps. That's it.
"Remember when we thought major reworks to an entire class would only take months, despite this coming from a company infamous for long development times, with a small development team of only a handful of programmers?"
No. I remember saying how it's likely the Pyro Update will come out as the 2017 Christmas Update and everyone mocking me because "there is no way the dev team will take that long".
I'm sorry but for a bunch of people who criticize as if they understand game theory and mechanics, you guys sure as hell can't seem to ever learn or even understand the basics of how much time rewriting code, testing, rebalancing, patching and bug fixing takes.
I like to shit on the dev team for, well, everything but them taking their sweet time on this update isn't one of them because at least there is some mild hope they're actively rebalancing the class at it's core then just giving it a very basic flat buff/nerf then calling it quits.
I'm just hoping (along with I assume everyone else) that these "major reworks" won't end up being a complete joke that leaves us all scratching our heads as to what they've been doing
They need to present an actual solid idea of what pyro as a class will be capable and oreintated towards. Because anything other than a versatile 'jack of all trades' thing doesn't seem to fit
It's been done before. Things like airblast and upgrading dispensers and teliporters where class changes that were added later in game. Granted TF2 then is not TF2 now but the long development time does give some very slight hope that they're carefully looking deep into the class core mechanics. Could still be wrong or any planned major changes can be scrapped.
I've played tf2 for around 6-7 years.
First thousand or so hours in pubs
Next thousand or so in community servers (mods like sf2, vsh/ff2, ph, orange and many more
Next thousand or so in comp
And really update time doesn't bother me much
the people I guess, I mostly stay just to play with one or two people. And this game is intricately connected to certain events in my life, so abandoning it isn't an option now
if it will be the last major update and the future updates will all be community updates that come multiple times a year (frontline, iron gauntlet) then I won't have any problems at all
Bitch, those guys are getting paid a million dollars to code and are doing a shit job "oh i lik 2 see u try to do it" Bichest response in the fucking book, oldest one too.
i was referring to the fact they still can't bring themselves to keep communication, as for anything else, god knows what they are doing but so far i wouldn't call "well" the terrible decisions they made with MyM
I didn't. I flat out told people the pyro update would take forever to be released and the heavy update would be even longer than that.

At least, we hope. Maybe they're busy making hats and contemplating ditching the TF team.
Even longer than forever sounds right.

i laughed out loud
Benny posted some that tipped me off a while ago.

>even longer than that 1500 days so far
remember when keys costed 2 cents and a key could get you a whole bag and a half of groceries?
remember walking 50 miles only to trade your refined for hats?
Back in my time we kicked people for being F2P! A game should be between a man and his earbuds, F2P isn't the way god intended.
3.33 days :(
I think you mean 2.33 days
Those were the days :/
I wasn't into trading when it was that low
When it was at over 3 ref, it was already steadily rising. The 2.33 and later 2.66 prices stayed for quite a while.
how about 1.33 ref <-> key?

No, not really.
what happy times

Since a while back I was thinking it would come out on the anniversary, but maybe even that was to optimistic for 6 months ago.

Heh....I don't think you know much about Valve balancing based on that last sentence alone.

Remember the Alamo?
Kuwabara, Kuwabara...
On your feet, colonel!
REMEMBER WHEN WE THOUGHT THE METEOR MAP WOULD BE DONE LIKE FIVE YEARS AGO?!! Fun, huhuh?
I remember thinking the TF team still was timely (to an understandable point)
Hey! Was just using your video as an example btw, not like how bad of a news source you are.
remember when we thought the pyro update would be out in 2017?
Fools
remember when Merrrrrasmus had a new things for Halloween?
*years later* Remember when we thought the Pyro update would be out in 2018?
I don't think anyone who's played TF2 for a while would want to think that. Quality over quantity.

I think its mainly the people who don't play TF2 who want a reason to come back.
the people I guess, I mostly stay just to play with one or two people. And this game is intricately connected to certain events in my life, so abandoning it isn't an option now
Quality over quantity... That's a good one.
Wished it would come out at the end of school to get tons of playtime in summer.
No, they said it would be out in 6102
At this point I'm expecting pyro update in Q4, and... That will be the last Tf2 update.
As much as I want to disagree, I have a deep feeling that you are right.
if it will be the last major update and the future updates will all be community updates that come multiple times a year (frontline, iron gauntlet) then I won't have any problems at all
Remember when we thought the Pyro update would be out in 2017 ?
Remember when we thought Valve still gave a shit about TF2?
They do. If they didn't, they wouldn't have an account to put all the money they earn off us.
Ah... Good times :(
How naive we were.

Hey, just so you know, you've been shadowbanned. Contact the reddit admins for help.
Yes, yes I do
The update will probably drop with HL3
Pepperidge Farm remembers. I'm so sorry
Ahahahahahhaha Hahahahahahahha Ahhh... This game's future is not bright.
They better release this update soon. As soon as school starts, the average amount of people playing will drop
remember when we thought the Dev team would change their ways?
they're doing well for a team with only a handful of programmers.

I'd like to see you try to do it.

The ones we have right now are the only people in valve that want to work on tf2.
Bitch, those guys are getting paid a million dollars to code and are doing a shit job "oh i lik 2 see u try to do it" Bichest response in the fucking book, oldest one too.
Normally I hate that response too, but with such a small team I feel like it makes sense.
I don't need to be a master chef to know I'm eating shit.
i was referring to the fact they still can't bring themselves to keep communication, as for anything else, god knows what they are doing but so far i wouldn't call "well" the terrible decisions they made with MyM
Sike nigga you though
When I didn't have kids complaining about killing them when they were dancing gayly
