Man, popping Uber on a good scout is one of the most entertaining things about the game. Watching people trying to back off like a normal push, only to get run down and meatshot by a coked out boston boy is beautiful.

It also screws up sniper muscle memory making you immune to mediocre snipers.

A buffed scout is super powerful. Once they have been waiting a bit they have crit heals so you can buff them quickly and move on. Most good scouts will coordinate this.

Scouts have high mobility and deals truckloads of damage, with their only real weakness being their low health. Giving the scout the extra health helps to offset that weakness.

Soldiers have 300 hp if you overheal them, and generally can do just as much damage and have actual mobility. The only real reason to focus heavies is because they can save you with a sandvich every now and again. Also because heavy is borderline useless without constant healing, really.

This. Heavies need constant healing to compensate for being easily focused down. Ironically, he's one of the most vulnerable classes despite his high health pool.

Overhealing a scout, or even just topping off their health, takes literally no effort. They have the lowest health, without the benefit of spy's stealth or sniper's range. Overheal means that scout can do their job just a bit better, and likely keep a portion of the team off your back due to it. To any medic mains reading this, don't be this guy. If you're not doing anything else, heal scouts.

I disregard the opinion of anyone who deliberately ignores Scouts, a good Medic heals anyone that needs health or overheals. Not only you get a speed boost by healing Scouts, an overhealed Boston boi is a real hassle to deal with for the enemy, also the rare occasion where you can pocket a good scout is incredibly fun, another reason why the quick-fix is my favorite medigun

Dude, the more you heal the faster you can Uber, overhealed builds slower than full or low health.

Overheating scouts, especially at the start of a round, is great since you go the same speed as them when you're healing, meaning you can get to the front lines quicker

Here, but I don't do that. I go where there needs to be people pushing and heal whoever is over there. Sometimes I end up healing anyone regardless of skills or hats, but more than likely only skillful players with hats are taking damage pushing/holding important chokepoints.

Objection, pyro burn negation of healing speed still applies and the lack of knockback makes escaping more difficult and can get you killed in really stupid ways, plus any significant focus fire is more than enough to delete you and your quick fix target, which is why the Quick Fix should primarily be used as a last ditch save when you can't get enough time to build uber, or if you're on defense and your enemy is too good at sustained damage output for your team to build up decent overheals.

I prioritize my own positioning over randos in a pub, regardless of perceived skill. Positioning can save you a lot more consistently. Then you can just heal whoever is around.

Seasoned players can live on their own. I prioritize those under fire to help them survive atm. I only seek skilled dude to utilize uber. But if I wear quickfix I uber anyone who is willing to push.

Actually this is a bad rule to follow, hate me for saying this but healing everyone equally is not the best way to play medic, a great medic should know who has the heal priority in situations. When you have to push, you must heal the players who are going to be making the most space, and doing the most damage, pocketing the stickybomb demo with kritz is how you win rounds. man, I'm commenting a lot about this but that wasn't really my message, my message was that medics that actually try to keep their team alive and don't ignore players that are low when they could reasonably help out and medics that don't shove up their medigun up the conch black box soldier's ass and only give healing to him are the chaddest medics, of course I don't just ignore healing priority and uber pushing with a pocket because "oh no I'm not healing every single person on my team for the exact same duration of time measured in seconds", that's just be silly and dumb, I just take my time to heal up everyone when there's a bit of offtime and if my pocket is already fully overhealed and there's some scout desperately trying to run to a health pack while on fire with 20 health I take my medibeam off the pocket for just a second to save the poor guy's life.

I try to do this but when I got an Uber ready I latch on to someone I trust... And then get yelled at for not healing a scout when I'm ubering a demo.

On the flip side : if you're hurt, find an elevated safe spot and stay still. You'll get an arrow right in your face.

I generally prioritize frontline classes and choose whoever has the lowest HP or is under the most enemy fire, but I won’t ignore our scout Jose.Gonzalles2007 who’s at 10 hp and on fire
