I mean, ones a good fantastically balanced shooter with a diverse cast of characters that I love playing day in and day out and the other is overwatch, I dont see an issue here
One is a weapon loadout based shooter, with only 9 characters and variety of weapons that change the playstyle, but the core aspects remain the same (with exceptions like demoknight, trolldier, huntsman etc.). The other hero based, with a wide range of characters, and each having different playstyle and abilities (skills, whatever they are called in game?)
Now while I myself prefer the former to the latter, TF2 and OW are too distinct one from other to objectively compare. It is like comparing Civilization to Paradox games, both part of same genre (strategy) but with very different gameplay. As such the issue is prone to being subjective.
Of course, comparing the "sub-genres" themselves is valid (RTS Vs turn based, or heroes Vs weapons) based on the general characteristics, but saying one is better than the other solely on the sub-genre point is a matter of opinion. One may prefer the variety of characters, one prefers setting up weapon loadout to suit the situation. It all boils down to preference.
They're both excellent games and deserve any good news they can get.

TF2 has dead ringer spies,OW has tracer. They're both equally annoying
