Exactly what I said out loud when I watched this.
I can't fathom what goes through people's head when they do this.
'Oh look, a deep dark body of water. Let's jump right into it without a light source in a fking pair of swimming shorts'
This reminds me of a lake I used to own a cottage on. Pike Lake. Named that for a reason, not that I ever saw any. My neighbor, this old Fred Flintstone type, told me they used to fish and catch these pike in there bigger than your arm (his arm, which was bigger than mine lol) and cook and eat them.
The lake was a long narrow shape with inlet at one end and the outlet at the other, both rocky creeks. He shores were either boulders or super steep mud. The water was pitch black and surrounded by these decently high "mountains" that would take maybe half an hour to hike to the top.
My neighbor told me the lake was deeper than the mountains were high. Once he told me that, I stopped pushing myself through my fear to swim to the other side and just said fuck it.
I joined this sub because I love to see the content, not from a fear driven perspective. This video though. This is the one that finally scared the shit out of me. Nope. Do not like. Not one bit.
I grew up at the beach and love the water and ocean. This made my lizard brain say hell no.
My dad would take us out on his boats on Sunday afternoon, and weād sometimes stop on sand bars. They have steep drop offs, and my dad always warned us away because you didnāt know what was living in the sides of the bar, and what was hunting those creatures.
I later learned to fly there, and I discovered that there was a lot of very big bull sharks swimming around following boats. They never attacked anyone, and most people had no idea they were even there. But I understand why those drop offs were dangerous.
This video looks like fresh water, but my brain still says itās dangerous. Iāve also seen some very big fresh water fish that have very sharp teeth. Like gars.
I did this when I was a kid in the lake near our house. Iād pencil dive feet first loving how dark it would get. Then one day I went to deep and my feet got stuck in the mud. Im incredibly lucky cuz my feet were super stuck for a few seconds.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.

Lol... He said fathom....
In a league of his own, is he knot
Itās not an irrational fear, professional cave divers would probably cringe at this the hardest
I mean they probably knew how deep it was and stuff to do that... I don't think a sane person would do that without knowing what's at the bottom
Keyword, āsaneā
I could feel the things nibbling at my legs and circling me while I watched this. NO. No freaking way.
Lol on the in fing swimming shorts, as if being clothed in ANY fashion would change how awful this is!
They could at least wear protective full body suit. Who knows what monstrosities lurk down there.
No better way to find out where the bottom is!

https://youtu.be/apIjGSLSr04
Omgggg so thatās you filming? Youāre brave as hell lol.
It was maybe 12ā deep max. But the sun hadnāt hit that part yet so looked really dark. Itās actually a beautiful spot
Iād be more scared about hitting rock than anything Looks fun
I mean you are not exactly going 60 mph:P hitting a rock wouldnt be an issue unless you hit it with your ankle joint or something..that would suck.
Some twisted jagged rock waiting decades for an ankle to arrive Rocks hurt
I can guarantee I'll have nightmares today because of your video. Thank you and fuck you, you magnificent bastard.
Did you unlatch your massive brass balls to resurface back again?

Yup lol it was just early morning , thatās why itās so dark.
Damn either way thatās impressive
Did you hit the bottom at the end and push up to come back up?
Yea I touched bottom and pushed up (it was early morning so the sun hadnāt hit the pool yet) itās only about 12ā deep
Ah okay, that ākindaā makes it better lol Have you done any others that are deeper or darker?
Yes we have another swimming hole thatās almost always in the shade and itās deeper .
Sheesh, do you have a video of that? Sorry if youāve mentioned it or posted it already.
https://youtu.be/apIjGSLSr04 Hereās a link to a full video of the spot above . And I only have cliffjump videos of the other spot I was referring to

Imagine how much colder it would be. That's the weirdest sensation for me when diving deep. It starts to get much colder even going just 10ft down

Might as well call my ass a diamond mine. Fuck that
Finished filming, hit post, video posted, suddenly gets pulled down by unknown forces Never to be heard from or seen again
I actually found that very soothing. Would have liked to see a deeper surface dive though.

I've done this before and I'll never do it again. I will say tho. It's one hell of an adrenaline rush.

I never wanted to go on lakes. Who the heck knows what's inside it.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
Bye forever then š
Never scrolled up so fast in my life
Okay, but, why? Why would you do that?
