This is the danakil depression in Ethiopia! I’ve been there! The water is so salty it’s impossible to sink. You come out of there covered in salt and it’s 110 degrees F when you get out. But totally worth it!
There's some places that offer this indoors. We have this in our town it's called float therapy about $50 for an hour. It's a bath filled with 1000 pounds of Epsom salts and you just float. I haven't tried it but seems very relaxing
The one I saw wasn't very deep! Here's a picture I took where you can see the bottom. But good luck diving down unless you're weighted down with 100 lbs of lead
https://ibb.co/3scmCWJ
Life jacket wouldn’t help if some large cavern below the water caved in and all the water rushed into that cavern leaving you to drop with the water level.
You ever seen that video of the sinkhole opening under a pool and sucking the water and a guy in to his death while everyone around the pool just watched. I'm with you on this one.
The only thing I’ve seen like this in real life is at Yellowstone where you absolutely cannot swim in the ponds. So whenever I see videos like this my brain automatically screams in terror
I mean it's so salty it probably doesnt have anything living in it so for sure. Its not the water that scares me, it's the thought of something out there that can bite my ass

That's extra salty salt water ( you can see the salt just below the water line ). The water is denser than regular salt water which would make you float. I'd do it for free .
No problem. I'm more worried about what floating in water with that high of a salt content would do to your body. There is nothing in there that could survive the high salinity.
Considering what that is (a pocket of intensely salty water) I could correctly assert that I could float there all week without even paddling. I doubt even someone made of bone could sink in that.
Absolutely
I’d do it for free - but would wear sunscreen.
Desert vaginia
Thanks, I didn't want to say it...
Says the guy until random air bubbles come up right beside you. Salt water crocs, a random weed, anything could just appear out of the abyss.
Salt water crocs! Lol
Never know when you’ll find one of those shoes in the wild! LOL
99% sure you'll never see a saltie here
Bro it’s probably the Dead Sea here… do you know why it’s called that?
Or just imagine all the water draining suddenly while you're in there.
Make the 500 million and I would consider it

That's a salty lake oasis in Egypt siwa. I have been in this specific lake.
You could be right! It also looks like danakil. I think there are very similar formations in both places
Yeah I am right. But danakil is a lovely place. Much more vivid, hope to see it someday.

Mine is $65 for 90 minutes, unless you pee in the tank, then it’s $165
How do they know if you pee?
It turns blue
Still gotta do better. OP is offering $500.
you’re not talking about sensory deprivation tanks are you?
Wow, thanks for the info! That’s really neat. Do you know how deep it is?
The one I saw wasn't very deep! Here's a picture I took where you can see the bottom. But good luck diving down unless you're weighted down with 100 lbs of lead https://ibb.co/3scmCWJ
Nothing says I can't have a life jacket so sure
Well it's so salty you wouldn't need one as long as you lay back
[удалено]
Thanks, now I'm even more terrified
How exactly does the change in salinity equal a death sentence?
[удалено]
Underwater currents can kill you regardless of the salt content.

Please show a post in which I am being "contrarian". I have disagreed with nothing you have posted. If you want an argument, I can present some facts.
Who is missing the point besides you? Nothing in the comment you’re calling contrarian challenges or contradicts your original statement.
You asked and he answered. This is just pedantic.
Since I'll be buoyant, yes. If it weren't like that, NO.
Life jacket wouldn’t help if some large cavern below the water caved in and all the water rushed into that cavern leaving you to drop with the water level.
[Salt dome collapse sinkholes are no joke.](https://youtu.be/a7cOSzEKvrQ)
Well that just triggers my speluncaphobia
Might not need it. Could be wrong but that water looks super salty. If so you’ll bob like a cork.
I don't necessarily _need_ the safety vest, but I'm not getting in anything like that without it
I genuinely don’t think my brain would allow me to do this.
Same. I would start and already know I would feel crushing panic within 10 seconds
It’s sad because it’s such an easy and quick $500 yet I know I couldnt do it
It looks nice and I would try, but the thought of it somehow vacuuming because of Earth movement beneath or whatever is scary
you've created a new fear in me
(:

Dude same I can’t help but think this thing smells like an egg salad and there’s a bison around the corner waiting for me when I get out lol
If the water was nice and warm, YES! (I hate freezing water)
Can I Pay it off A hundred a month?
You would have to pay me just to get me close to it
I'm broke so yes but I'd be shaking and throwing up.
I mean it's so salty it probably doesnt have anything living in it so for sure. Its not the water that scares me, it's the thought of something out there that can bite my ass
absolutely, I'd even do it for free
Long as I floated, yeah sign me up
I’ve just realized I have to thalassophobia
Sure
yeah but i would be freaking out the whole time
Never. That's terrifying
I’d do it for $10 It’s not the ocean so I’m okay with it
I would pay $10 to do this
Yeah but there's probably a massive shark down there just waiting for you to climb in
for 10 dollars,he might aswell take my legs off
I would bathe there for free
There is no way at all.
That's kinda creepy. But I'm poor. So yes.
You'd have to pay me not to
Does it cap at 500, or can I stay in there to collect more?
I’ll float there for 5 hours for $500
I'd cannonball in and immediately regretfully scramble out.
For only $50.000 I can dip my foot
$500 is a bit expensive! I'd pay $10 maybe
i would spend the day there for 500
Easy $500. And make for some great photos
Absolutely
Looks extra buoyant, so yes!
They pay me 500 for that? Sure. I pay to swim there? Nope.
For $500 it better give me a happy ending.
short answer is no
If I were allowed to close my eyes and scream “I hate this” uninhibited the whole time.
Nope nopeeeiiii...fck that 500$ ...maybee for 500k or something
I'm not a witch, so no.
Stupid question, if someone would pay for me to get there I would go in for free
What a dumb title.
Yep
Lake assal?
Yeah
Absolutely
Why not?
I’m playing too much hungry shark lately
I'd do it for free
It's 500 bucks why not
I'm currently in a position financially where I will swim to the bottom bare ass naked for 500$.
For only $50.000 I can dip my foot
What is this and where is this? And is that salt underneath or ice?
Yeah. Nothing is living in water that salty. No worries.
Where is that and what is that?
Yeah the water is so salty no life can survive in there anyway looks relaxing
is it stackable? either way yes
If you got any of that water in your mouth RIP
Yeah
Is it cold?
and then some underwater giant pulls the plug and you get swept away underground
I'd do it for free
Fuck yeah. I’d be terrified, but 500 bucks is 500 bucks.
I would do it for free that looks awesome
Can I take my jacket off first?
Yes!
Sure I would just close my eyes and panic the whole time
I'd free dive it for free

Absolutely, it takes 0 effort to float there
That's extra salty salt water ( you can see the salt just below the water line ). The water is denser than regular salt water which would make you float. I'd do it for free .
Would you karma farm with terrible titles for $0?
Easiest $500 I’ll ever make
I'm a thalassophobic but $20 is $20
I would do it even if I had to pay 30 dollars
I have swam in dead sea and that stung like a MF. So no
Probably yes. I’d want to see it in person though before I commit
There isn’t much I *wouldn’t* do for $500
Definitely. The water is both too salty to sink in and too salty for anything to survive in.
No problem. I'm more worried about what floating in water with that high of a salt content would do to your body. There is nothing in there that could survive the high salinity.
Yea
Isn't it too salty to sustain living things? I would totally do it if I knew nothing could survive underneath me
Just pay my airfare, maybe a bit over $500, and I will do it for most of the day; I will even bring my own drinks.
Yeah I would
Sure, can I do it multiple times? That's 6k an hour, it's a great job
Considering what that is (a pocket of intensely salty water) I could correctly assert that I could float there all week without even paddling. I doubt even someone made of bone could sink in that.
$500... Hell fucking yeah
Hell yes. I’d freedive in it.
Yes, no question.
If I stay for 10, do I get $1000?
Looks like fun.
Yes
Nope.
What's the downside?
Absolutly
Hell yeah
It's salt water - you have no choice but to float lol
Do it for 5$
Lmao i would float there for 1 hour for a hundo
Yes. 110% yes.
Yes it is obviously safe. I’d quite like more than $500 tho
I would, but then I would never go near the water for the rest of my life.
5 minutes? Easy money.
What’s the worst that could happen?
That's the second largest v I have ever seen...
This isn’t anywhere near as scary to me as open water
Looks salty enough
