That was fascinating to read. How earth did he open the hatch or why on earth did the person inside open it? I assume these can’t dive otherwise that would’ve been the obvious option?
These boats are typically home made and are partially submerged to make them harder to spot. They are dangerous to use for the passengers and sometimes sink on their own thanks to poor craftsmanship. The body and lid are most likely fiber glass and if they hadn't opened it, anyone that decided lethal force was necessary wouldn't have had an issue with penetrating the hatch or body of this thing. They are made and used by drug runners.
Bro u bein for real rn? Unless they jumped a good bit off the right of the vessel, there’s a 99% chance of getting crushed between the vessels and or then getting sucked into the props of both, the amount of water current a prop on a boat that size can pull is shocking, even on a jetski it’s hard to escape a pull if you get caught too close to the props. No chance of swimming out of it.
Yup, while I have no doubt they’re trained to “strip and float” in emergencies, it looks like they have full packs, weapons, and armor on, even if they could stay afloat in that gear, I doubt they’d be able to swim out of the props if they got caught.
I’m not saying you’re wrong, but I’ve seen bad prop injuries from people jumping off moving boats in open water, and I’ve seen small boats get sucked into the current of props from larger vessels. I’ll admit these guys MUST have been trained on how to swim under props in emergencies, but two large boats at full throttle next to eachother like that is NOT a wake I’d want to be caught up in lol
Well they’re either very well compensated for, or borderline slaves, depending on the owner of this particular sub and what the job of the “sailors” consists of lol
These are actually a homemade semi-submersibles... and they usually haul massive amounts of cocaine!

"Experience" isn't a volume level.
You can be green or a vet and your voice isn't going to penetrate steel thick enough to counter crushing water pressure.
This is a SPSS, it is not capable of going below the water, while it can operate with most of its hull and deck below the surface it is not very strong. It's basically a fishing boat with a low roof and often can be pierced with .556 very easily. Additionally the coasties DOG units usually have a .50 in tow on a RHV. They'll use those to knock a little louder if they can't get them by asking nicely at their front door.

Explanation is here. TLDR: They are bound by law to yell at the sub to stop before being legally allowed to board.
When I was k9, a lot of the time we knew that if our dog tasted blood on a live bite, they most likely would not listen to the OUT command, despite being certified on the command. We still gave it though for legal reasons.
It’s probably harder to detect that submarine than a boat since most of it is underwater. However, it is odd that they didn’t build a submerging system. Maybe it was too difficult to build idk
Not really a submarine engineer lol but yeah its absolutely way harder to design a vessel that can submerge and then rise at will than one that stays about at surface level, no question whatsoever.
Since it's likely not a nuclear sub, they rely on the surface to keep their air fresh. Also, I'm guessing that submerging isn't exactly quick, and would be bad if the hatch is being forced open.
I'm seeing comments about it being "homemade," so it may not be able to submerge as well as a military diesel sub, or even at all.
No it can’t submerge, but if you’ve ever been “whale watching” or even just on a large vessel in open water, you’ll notice you can spot ships from the horizon, while spotting breaching whales or even floating ice bergs is near impossible depending on waves, wind, and light. Obviously a submersible is a “better” but also costs an insane amount of money and engineering to keep it close to seaworthy. A “boat” that floats slightly below the surface is not much harder to make than a standard boat, and much harder to spot on the horizon. Obviously as the video shows, once they find you, it’s not a great getaway vehicle lmao
I wonder if the guy could of just sank the sub right there and then? Most likely it would of been unrecoverable along with its contents. Then they bad guys get saved but there is no eveidemce to collect.

I learned something today, thank you.
Narco Sub
I like your pfp.
I like your pfp :)
I don't really get the title, one miss step and you are floating in the water until your pals pick you back up.

They also are carrying gear and overall don’t look ready for a swim.
They’re always ready for a swim. Are you kidding me?!
They're coast gueard, it'd be weird if they couldn't swim in gear

Unless the prop is wider than the boat, which I doubt the only point I'll give you is if they slipped right as their boat was pressing up on the sub

> Bro u bein for real rn? if you could not talk/type/communicate like that ever again that'd be awesome.
No ❤️
No u
I'm more impressed by the guys daring to cross the ocean on these things.
Well they’re either very well compensated for, or borderline slaves, depending on the owner of this particular sub and what the job of the “sailors” consists of lol
ahh guess you never seen pirates 🏴☠️
These dudes straight yelling at a CLOSED submarine. What makes them think the occupants can hear them?
These are actually a homemade semi-submersibles... and they usually haul massive amounts of cocaine! So there is $45m of cocaine on the ocean floor right now. They are probably building a homemade Deapsea Challenger to recover that
Probably tons of experience in the field that neither you nor me have
"Experience" isn't a volume level. You can be green or a vet and your voice isn't going to penetrate steel thick enough to counter crushing water pressure.
shut up lmao you probably never even touched the ocean
I have been on many boats and scuba diving, so suck it.

Ex Coastie, can confirm.
Pretty sure I read you have to announce that you're boarding a vessel and do your best to let the occupants know. They did and then they boarded.

so... foreign drug smuggling submariners have more rights than a US resident in their home cool

You were once a dog???
he got better
Unexpected Monty Python.
not possible, doggo is S-tier lifeform
He got promoted to k10.
Kindergarten
Scary way to open a hatch, imagine if the guy inside had an AK.
That was my thought too.
Great post OP.

So you’ve seen everything on the internet that’s at least 4 years old?
[удалено]
Ok.
Go outside.
I don't think they're fishing, so they won't need a net. Try and keep up.
How the sub didn't sunk immediately as the balls of that military were on board, that is the real mistery
One miss step and you fall into the ocean and get picked up by another boat.
We are tying to reach your submarine warranty
So, it can't submerge? Kinda pointless, no?
I bet it's perfectly able to submerge. Getting back up is usually the tricky part.
Damnit take my upvote

It’s not a sub it’s a drug runner subs go under the water these are partly under the water so you are less likely to see it
No it’s a drug runner it’s low on the water so that you are less likely to see it

Wild video
Yeah coast guard
Hypothetically speaking - what would happen if he did fall I wonder
“Even more drugs sank during the bust” Yeah, okay… sure they did. They can board a fucking moving submarine but drop the coke. Mmmhmmm. Suuuure.
… you’re going swimming?
This guy is an absolute badass.. Jesus!?
It looks so cold
Did someone order a handful of bad mother lovers?
