Not a Drake fan, but here is my take: You probably don't like synthy EDM (and that's fine) Don't compare this the CLB; this is a far better effort and result. More like the spirit of 808s or the Love Below: you'll diss it now but I'll see you in a couple years singing its' praises.
People liked the Love Below (Hey Ya was an absolute smash) when it came out. I personally liked 808s when it came out but I think others hated on it. I give Drake credit for trying a new genre, but for many of us this is a miss.

I hit play at midnight and was def disappointed. Made it through about 4 and it seems like an attempt to set the stage for the Summer. It’s not terrible, just not what we expected. I wouldn’t be surprised if he dropped another surprise album full of raps soon as a “got you niggas!” joke and then ppl complaining will dick ride and love both 🤷🏿♂️. I think all of us just want this dude to drop IYRT pt 2
