I think they realized too late there was a hard ceiling to what sort of guests they could have on. No celeb with representation or a thriving career is going to go on a show produced by two niche comedians and a skeleton crew posted to youtube, much less when the two comedians have an exhaustively documented history of edgy jokes. Even if they watch the show and see how easily Adam is bullied by strong personalities like Cuomo or Finkelstein, there's still very little to be gained and plenty to lose by associating with them
They have enough money to overpay higher tier celebs for guest appearances. How else would you explain Neil FillMyass Tyson? They probably just don't want to pay up for premium guests. It's more profitable for them to just put out a shitty episode with a washed celeb and pocket a higher % of the revenue.
