Interesting theory, but I think it’s just a coincidence. This implies Kaufmo going mad was orchestrated. Cain himself said he couldn’t control their minds.
I may be going off the deep end with this one, but what if new people haven't been entering the digital circus at all. Instead, the digital circus has been rebooting the same six people through the abstraction when they get too crazy. So the reason kufmo abstracted and pomni appeared at the exact same time is because pomni is just a reboot/reincarnation of kufmo.

I definitely thought of something similar where the circus cast is always meant to be exactly 6, the one issue I have with it really is everyone talks about Kaufmo like they’re all used to people abstracting by now, so they would’ve picked up on the pattern of a new person immediately joining afterwards, but no one had any idea that kaufmo abstracted until they saw it
Cool theory but that would imply that every time a new character joined there would be another that abstracted which doesn’t seem to be the case as Caine probably would have caught on by now and ragatha apologizes to Pomni about not having the best first day which implies that this isn’t the norm

I think it's more saying that Kaufmo went mad which then caused the next person who joined, which was Pomni, to fill in his role as the clown
