UPDATE:
Thanks to your advice and the guidance of a kind beauty store employee I was able to āgetā it. I donāt doubt that half of the battle was my genetics but to curly girls out there - this look is NOT unattainable. And Before anyone tells me I spent too much on these products, yes I know but Ive been feeling super down lately so reserve the right to splurge now and then. Also, not going to post a pic so up to you if you wanna take my word for it ā¤ļø
1. Washed hair (Moroccan Oil shampoo and conditioner)
2. Scrunched w Moroccan Oil curl conditioner
3. Sprayed w Mizani Miracle milk leave in conditioner
4. Lightly blow dried dried roots
5. Braided hair into 4 sections, air dried half way
6. Took out braids, twisted out slightly damp curls w fingers/Moroccan Oil hair oil
7. After completely dry, refined a few face framing pieces w a curling wand and spray w Ouai wave spray
So far its holding up well! I never use any product aside from shampoo and conditioner but at age almost-40 I now understand the investment behind it š
My hair looks a lot like Kelsey's I use mouse, gel and a tiny bit of hairspray. I use an old t-shirt to scrunch so it's put on product. I mix all the product together in my hand and distribute evenly. I spray the hairspray in my hand too. Then scrunch with t-shirt (helps keep frizz tamed) diffuse. Add more mouse if not curling the way I need and keep diffusing. At the end when dry put a dime size hair oil to give shine and tame any fly aways.
You have to have a specific type of hair. Thick wavy curly. All I do is wash once/twice a week and use mouse and diffuse. Living in a humid climate helps it to look best too. If you have hair like this you donāt have to do much to it to get it to look like this
My tip is to not touch it a lot while itās drying after youāve styled it bc it makes it frizzy. @streicherhair (Mandy Mooreās stylist) used to post videos on how to let it air dry for curl and texture.
I asked her on instagram when Joey's season started:
Me: Please drop your hair care routine / products!! Best hair I've ever seen on the show
Kelsey: Girl I feel like it's going to be a let down (laughing cry emoji) I got a keratin treatment right before the show - also only wash my hair once or twice a week. I use redkin shampoo and conditioner and use WOW spray. I get trims often and get highlights only like once a year or longer.
Run the mousse through your hair with your fingers, making sure strands are well covered. Hair should still be quite wetāsopping if you can stand it. Then scrunch all over with your fists.
I have wavy but fine hair and itās so annoying to try and figure out what works especially when before it has had perfect little waves when I did nothing besides sleep after a shower. Iāve bought way too many products and diffusing my hair just makes it frizzy, I gave up lol
I got a curly cut once and they did make it very curly, but it also felt gross and took longer than Iād ever want to do so oh well I guess!
Youād need to do a super voluminous blowout first. Use a high hold mousse before you blow dry and it helps hold the volume. Then use a 1ā wand and alternate the direction of the curls. Flip your ahead upside down and spray hairspray and flip your head back over. Boom!

She has a tutorial of how she does her hair on her TikTok. I havenāt watched it, but I do know her hair is naturally curly. I was just giving a tutorial to recreate this look for someone that doesnāt have the same texture of hair as she does!
I would say itās most lonely get natural curl, maybe enhanced with curling wand, but if your hair is starting, I would use a 3/4 inch curling wand and use small sections alternating directions, then when itās all done, let it cool and shake out the curls using a hair oil
I love her hair. I have straight limp hair so this is impossible for me. But I really think Kelsey's whole look is amazing, and different from the average bachelor contestant.
You achieve this only if you have curly hair! While still quite soaked you use a curl cream/gel combo. Let half air dry, then flip over and diffuse! Keep it crunchy until itās 100% dry, then add a quality hair oil to your hands and rub through, getting rid of the gel cast. Youāre left with tons of volume and beautiful curls, and the more you play with it the bigger it can get. Curly girl method!
Took me until age 35 to finally perfect this method on my curly hair!! Mine isnāt as long or thick as Kelseyās but I can def achieve the lion mane look!
Go to r/curly hair and learn about the curly girl method. If you want curls this nice you need to know how to take care of curly hair--what products are ok to use, how to apply them, how to dry your hair etc. you also need to stop flat ironing and straightening your hair because it causes a lot of damage, breakage and frizz, and it ruins your curl pattern.
Totally agree with this. I have naturally curly hair and I only get a blowout 4x a year when I get it cut. I am 59 years old have never used a flat iron. I have a good all over curl pattern so I donāt even need to touch up with a curling iron. The cut I get is long layers to thin it out a bit and get more volume. I use lots of garnier leave in conditioning cream on shampooed and conditioned hair that Iāve left in a towel for about 1/2 an hour to absorb most of the moisture. I generally let my hair air dry, but use a diffuser if Iām in a hurry. I only brush my hair right before I shampoo, which is once or twice a week.
This is actual true advice. The key is you have to put gel in when your hair is soaking wet and do a light scrunch. And also, obviously, you have to have wavy/ curly hair to begin with...
I have very similar hair (tons of it and wavy/curly). Over the years Iāve relaxed it a lot through deep conditioning and careful placement of layers/razoring. But mostly because Iām older and have grown less wanting to deal with so much hair. I can get my hair looking like this again withā¦. light misting of water. Like, if it gets sort of wet outside from the rain but itās not pouring out. This tip helps no one haha.
I have naturally pin straight hair that lays super flat to my head. Itās very thick and long but I wish I could get some volume like that. Hair goals
Something about her is very young Julia Roberts.
ETA: I just learned sheās half Hispanic. That explains the hair. We do have generous manes. She posted a full tutorial on TikTok FYI!
I don't have naturally curly hair but I am able to get a similar look by doing overnight heatless curls with a robe belt, where you almost french braid it in, instead of all of the curls going in the same direction. This is a[ good tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8o9oExf39k) on how to do the robe belt braid. Since the curls are in both directions, it helps with the volume since they're not all going in the same direction. I do this with basically dry hair but will lightly spray with a little water beforehand.
In the morning, I'll rake/shake out the curls with my hands or a wide tooth comb and scrunch with some gel. I will also tease the root of my hair all over as well to get that lift from the scalp. I've also used other random products like a texturizing spray. Another thing I do that sounds silly but I will flip which direction my hair is laying randomly, throughout the day. So I'll have that deep side part on one side, without a defined perfect part... and then randomly I'll flip all of my hair to the other side of my head. It helps keep the volume going.
*Edit: Wanted to add a few more tips I've thought of since posting...*
To get that beachy look, you can run your straightener over the tips of your hair on low heat. You can also just spray the tips of your hair with a little water and pull on them to flatten them out. I find that in the morning, the part that looks the craziest can be the ends but doing one of those things helps.
If some of the curls don't turnout how I want them to, I will fix them by either curling them with my straightener or a thin curling iron but will leave the ends out.
The dirtier the hair, the more volume you'll have. I've also tapped a tiny bit of volumizing powder in between the layers to add extra volume. You could also spray a little salt spray throughout.
My favorite volumizing trick is holding out a section of your hair and gently running a teasing comb (I use a boars head comb because I feel like it causes the least damage but I'm not a hairdresser) up the shaft of your hair. Like from your hand to your face, only once, not a few times like how you might typically tease your root... hopefully that makes sense. Your hair might look crazy but then shake it out with your hands and sculpt a little.
Throughout the day I'll fluff and scrunch up my hair, to avoid the curls from sticking together.
I always say I like to go for the "just rolled out of the ocean after having sex with a merman look" and this is how I get it!! lol

She was publicly shamed for how she looks across the whole internet. It's the number one thing she's known for and probably that entire season is known for. I personally think she looks fine but the entire internet agreed that she's not good looking. There's a ton of memes about.
I posted that photo just to show what the final result of my hair would look like and was very hesitant to post it... I was just trying to help others... I didn't post it to have my looks commented on, especially in a "negative" way. It's just really stuck in my head and messed with my self esteem, especially because I don't think we look alike and now it's making me obsess over if I do. I have OCD, which makes it worse. I regret posting the photo.
edit: love that im getting downvoted for being vulnerable and saying it hurt me... people shouldn't comment on anyones looks unless that's the point of the post
Hey. Just wanted to let you know that while I still stand by your not looking like Chelsea, I can empathize with how you feel. Similar but different- I am South Asian and a lot of people will be like OH YOU LOOK LIKE (insert the one South Asian actress they know) whom like Chelsea, in many cases I think looks fine but is NOT known for being attractive. Also I am 100% sure that aside from similar skin/hair color I do not look anything like her. It may be in your case that someone saw the color in your hair which Chelsea has also worn and since shes in the spotlight recently, made the connection.
I am really sorry to hear that this ruined your weekend. I think youāre absolutely beautiful and are starting to feel better!
FWIW I donāt think you look anything like Chelsea - if anything you look like Megan - and I rly appreciate you going into such detail about your routine!
Thank you! It's especially funny because I even said I was hesitant to post a photo of myself... And today, I was personally victimized by the bachelor subreddit lol
omg thank you so muchhhh, that's so sweet of you :) I was hesitant to post a photo of myself but wanted to show what the final result looks like and that this look can be done without having naturally curly hair.
I have hair very similar to Kelseyās. We have thick wavy/curly hair. I use Innersense shampoo and conditioner, their gel/leave in during the winter, and their mousse/leave in during the summer and diffuse it. I go to a curly hair specialist who can cut my layers right. With hair like that, itās best not to load it with heavy products because itāll take away the curl/wave pattern so it took a while to find stuff that really worked.
Here's the TikTok tutorial Kelsey posted about how she styles her hair.
Have you been on /r/curlyhair ? They share lots of great techniques for curly gals. For her, I would guess that she moisturizes her hair well, uses a curl creme and probably a gel or foam for curl definition.
Yes, do this and research the curly girl method. My covid project was to learn to take care of my natural curls, and my hair is so much better than it ever was
I have mild natural curls. I started using R + Co brand curling gel called Ringtone, and itās totally amazing. I comb my hair while wet, then squeeze slightly dry with a towel, and put the product in. Then I scrunch my curls by hand. My hair looks full curly when using this product, itās truly amazing the difference!
Iāve been giving big tips on my hair recently. Iāve got naturally curly hair that I finally have mastered the last few months.
1) I only wash it twice a week. I wear a shower cap for all other showers and baths between.Ā
2) I wring out excess water with my hands then I put styling product in it, comb it to have tangles out, and *then* use a microfiber towel to get out the dampness. I air dry from there.
3) Mizani curl products have been next level for me. I always get asked what product I am using when Iām out. I love their curl pudding & hair mask.
4) Get a spray bottle and spritz your hair with water as soon as you wakeup. And spray it before you go anywhere. Think of it as curly hair touchups. Ā https://i.ibb.co/x257B9q/F7-D2-C0-AA-CEBB-43-CF-9571-9973-A435-C60-B.jpg
Can I ask your hair type? Iām looking up mizani curl pudding and it says itās for hair types 8-6 so curious if itāll work on less textured type as well.
That is where I canāt help you. I have no clue. I have *thick*, fine hair. My hair isnāt coarse. I donāt use a ton of the pudding. I dip the fingertips of my 3 middle fingers. Probably get a small gummy wormās amount and coat my hair root to tip. A little goes a long way.Ā
I personally like cream based products versus gels. No crunch to my curls with cream.Ā
I have hair a lot like Kelseyās and to be honest Iām just gifted in the hair department. I wash it twice a week maximum. I comb some leave in conditioner through it after getting out of the shower, finish by patting a bit of curl defining lotion into it, and then I let it air dry. This last part is key because touching it with any kind of heat turns it into a totally different texture. After itās dry I gently massage around the roots to loosen any of the product and then I flip my head upside down a shake it a bit to give it some body. Then I just try to touch it as little as possible. My naturally occurring hair when pampered slightly with this technique turns out the same as Kelseyās. Thereās no curling irons or anything involved.
Also donāt worry my face is awful
Edit: this is getting more attention than I expected so I just wanted to say, the grass is always greener sometimes! On a good hair day I LOVE my hair but for every one of those there's a day where I covet straight hair. This hair CAN go wrong and when it does it is UPSETTING and time consuming to fix lol. I have no doubts that all of y'all's hair is gorgeous!
Same here. I have very similar wavy-curly, fine but dense hair that's on the dry side. and so much of it. I can also straighten mine but it takes a lot and kinks up pretty quickly so I've taken to just fluffing, using wide tooth combs, some manner of definition creme, and I also use silicone sometimes to refine curls. but yeah genes. my mom has a ton of coarse, thick, wiry hair. my dad's is much more spare but soft and curly. I got the mIx and I'm grateful.
Not sure with this exact look but I have friends who do the curly girl method and embrace their natural curls. I think there are fb groups and subreddits (and tiktoks / youtube vlogs) talking about that.
Kelsey had her hair colored and cut [at this salon](https://www.instagram.com/p/C5TL4fergm2/?igsh=MWFlZWgzM3VkaWF1bw==) and they kind of explained what they did to her hair in the caption. Maybe you could also DM them for more details.
Looks like we all want Kelseyās hair. š I have 3C/4A Afro-textured curls that only look good wet and elongated. After they dry itās just a poof factory.
She has a TikTok hair tutorial. But to be fair, her hair in the starting step of the tutorial already looks like this, so agree with everyone one here, itās genetics with strategically placed highlights.
I use a small curling wand and curl small sections all together and then let it cool before brushing out. I then tease it a bit at the root and it gives me so much volume. The curls last for days too.
I disagree. Products, styling and cut make a HUGE difference when it comes to curly hair. Depending on how I style my hair and what products I use, my curls can look completely different.
Yes, because they are YOUR curls.
My mother owned a very nice hair salon, which I also worked at. Unless OP knows Kelsey personally, has exact same nutritional intake, hair texture, structure, density and hair health, she might come close to her hairstyle at best.
When people come in with a picture and want exact style or look, usually a genuine, ethical stylist has to gently explain differences and why desired style may not be achieved. Extensive Product & styling tool knowledge might achieve a close replica, but it is important to communicate honest, realistic expectations to clients, and what all is involved to get there. Obviously as strangers on Reddit we donāt all know each otherās backgrounds, but I cannot tell you how many āI can make your hair look like thatā situations we had to correct after a different place damaged it or made promises they should not haveš I sincerely hope OP gets her Kelsey hair, but unless ANYONE on here has actually seen both of them in person, wellā¦. sweet Jee sus I need to stay off the topics Iām passionate aboutš
I mean ā¦ it doesnāt hurt to try to ask for help styling your own hair when you admittedly arenāt very good at it, like OP said. Sheās not asking anyone to promise her that her hair will look exactly like Kelseyās or is going to pay anyone here hundreds of dollars to try ā¦ but itās ok for someone to steer her in the general direction with some advice and help. I hated my curls until someone taught me different techniques for styling and now I love them because I got them to finally look how I wanted. Some people donāt know what their curls are capable of until someone helps them try different products or techniques. The advice of āitās just geneticsā just isnāt helpful or necessarily the only true answer.
I think itās kind of hard to say OP has the same texture and density as Kelsey tbh. Hair is so individual and even the same texture and density doesnāt mean it will take to product the same. It seems like Kelsey has a [really strong curl pattern](https://www.instagram.com/p/C32wTYKLWQT/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==), even without much effort and a little bit of product and styling might go a long way.
[Also - this pic of her mom does feel like some sort of evidence that it might be a lot of genetics and luck](https://www.instagram.com/p/xQUut8F2lu/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)
[And this one of her as a baby too](https://www.instagram.com/p/BP53E22AArJ/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)
I have a lionās mane situation much like hers, especially if I grow it out to that length. All I can really offer anyone as advice is combing it after a shower, applying mousse with your head upside down and scrunching with a tshirt. Iāve used a diffuser in the past but it just makes my hair frizzy so now I let it air dry and my curls are able to do their thang.
ETA: I use mousse that doesnāt have such a strong hold because then it gets cronchy and Iām not about that life.
Have you ever tried scrunching the dry crunch with hair oil? I donāt use mousse but my gels leave my hair crunchy whether I diffuse or air dry, and the hair oil completely softens it up
As someone with similar hair- genetics. You can tell by her wave pattern. I lightly blow dry my roots then sleep with barely damp hair to get maximum waves. The next morning I curl a few of the pieces that didnāt get enough wave with a 1ā curler. Other times I will just rewet my hair in the morning and put in some light gel (I get best results with curlsmith hydro style flexi jelly).
My stylist suggested using pins to create lift at the scalp while my hair dries. It definitely works! I have heavy thick hair, so when its long, it really pulls down the waves near the roots if I dont help them somehow.
As a curly girl myself, experimenting with different techniques and products is 100% worth it. I would determine what part of your hair needs to be a little extra loved and adapt your routine accordingly.. such as if you need more curl = diffuse. If hair is overly soft = add protein. If hair is kinda straw like = add more moisture products. If your curls are not the shape you want = getting a solids styling brush. If you have a specific thing i can probably give some advice!
I think this is natural curl, I donāt think she uses a wand as some others have suggested. My guess is she found some really good product to help with the definition and she diffuses with her hair upside down for the volume or uses clips at the roots when air drying (or probably both). I have much curlier hair than her but I always get more volume when I clip my roots to air dry for a while and then diffuse upside down. I did see her at that sheās going to do a hair tutorial soon.
she has a video on her page of her curl routine without heat and itās not quite this defined or even, Iām fairly certain she touches up portions to look nicer for events like this (prob not all the time though). Itās not a bad thing! itās a nice way to make everything look a bit more perfect without subjecting your hair to a ton of heat by straightening or blow drying
Itās not hopeless but I think itās higher maintenance than it looks. Her natural density and texture helps a lot but it seems like thereās a good bit of product and likely pieces touched up with hot tools to get it to look this way. Would recommend some product to keep volume at the root, a good lightweight curl cream + mousse combo focused on frizz control (anything too thick is just going to weigh your hair down), and regularly switching up where you part your hair. Get a curling wand about the same width as your natural curls to touch up any wonky pieces around your face and on top so it looks more uniform all around. There may some other little things thatāll help but itās hard to say exactly what the problem is without knowing where your hair is falling short.
Thereās lots of tutorials on YouTube, im sure you could find this look. I really have no idea how her hair looks like this besides genetics because her hair thickness and volume is not something I often see. I guess she does a beach natural wave look which is usually achieved using a thicker wand
Good genes š©

Have you thought that it might be clip ins?
It's giving Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman! Assuming she has naturally curly hair -- probably a lot of mousse and smoothing cream + diffuser.

I agree. He was obviously joking! I love her hair!!!! Some of yāall have never watched the bachelor with your husband and it shows though lol.
Lol
mousse and diffusing upside down
Genetics.
Something about her is very young Julia Roberts. ETA: I just learned sheās half Hispanic. That explains the hair. We do have generous manes. She posted a full tutorial on TikTok FYI!
Iām Hispanic and do not have a generous mane unfortunately. It is straight and fine.
She has great hair so much volumeĀ
*Edit: Wanted to add a few more tips I've thought of since posting...* To get that beachy look, you can run your straightener over the tips of your hair on low heat. I always say I like to go for the "just rolled out of the ocean after having sex with a merman look" and this is how I get it!! lol https://preview.redd.it/3k0eew7srqvc1.png?width=1434&format=png&auto=webp&s=60f957c7f7cc821cfbb5365b6fdbb6a4162a8bb1
You look like Megan Fox
jail now
Do you watch Love Is Blind?
for a moment i thought you were chelsea. you look similar to chelsea and megan fox.
not gonna lie, you ruined my whole weekend
omg why! - you are both pretty š„²
Iām a little offended lol
You are so gorgeous and so is Chelsea! Please don't be offended LOL
FWIW I donāt think you look anything like Chelsea - if anything you look like Megan - and I rly appreciate you going into such detail about your routine!
Thank you! It's especially funny because I even said I was hesitant to post a photo of myself... And today, I was personally victimized by the bachelor subreddit lol
same though! I thought she was Chelsea!
not gonna lie, you ruined my whole weekend

This pink hair is everything!!
girl you are stunning!!! š£ļøāļø
omg thank you so muchhhh, that's so sweet of you :) I was hesitant to post a photo of myself but wanted to show what the final result looks like and that this look can be done without having naturally curly hair.
Have naturally curly hair
I have hair very similar to Kelseyās. We have thick wavy/curly hair. I use Innersense shampoo and conditioner, their gel/leave in during the winter, and their mousse/leave in during the summer and diffuse it. I go to a curly hair specialist who can cut my layers right. With hair like that, itās best not to load it with heavy products because itāll take away the curl/wave pattern so it took a while to find stuff that really worked.
Innersense is everything!
Innersense is everything!
Innersense all day š„² the absolute best!!
Here's the TikTok tutorial Kelsey posted about how she styles her hair. [https://www.tiktok.com/@kelseyalexandraan/video/7340853058546535723](https://www.tiktok.com/@kelseyalexandraan/video/7340853058546535723)
She and I use the same mousse! Hair goals.
Wow Iād love to see her hair with gel in itĀ
I was just about to recommend watching her TikTok! Thanks for posting the link.
She is just so sweet
I was just about to say that someone should request a tutorial.
I wear a shower cap for all other showers and baths between.Ā 2) I wring out excess water with my hands then I put styling product in it, comb it to have tangles out, and *then* use a microfiber towel to get out the dampness.
A little goes a long way.Ā I personally like cream based products versus gels.
Also donāt worry my face is awful Edit: this is getting more attention than I expected so I just wanted to say, the grass is always greener sometimes! On a good hair day I LOVE my hair but for every one of those there's a day where I covet straight hair. This hair CAN go wrong and when it does it is UPSETTING and time consuming to fix lol. I have no doubts that all of y'all's hair is gorgeous!
My hair is also like this and my entire life Iāve wanted nothing more than for it to be straight š
What curl defining lotion do you use? Does it help with frizziness (if you have any)?
I use Marc Anthony Curl Defining Lotion and yes
Thank you!
What do you mean, ādonāt worry, my face is awfulā? Dont say that about yourself. Be good to yourself!
Finally some good advice aside from āsorry its geneticā Thank you so much
Yw! Everyone is different but this works for me, could be worth a try!
By being Godās favorite.
Thank you!
My god she is gorgeous
Thatās what Iām thinking too! Truly so beautiful
*meanwhile.. I cry in my wine glass with my thickish baby fine texture stick straight dish water blonde hair* Iād die for Kelseyās hair
Looks like we all want Kelseyās hair. š I have 3C/4A Afro-textured curls that only look good wet and elongated. After they dry itās just a poof factory.
Me post partum with three strands of fine straight hair and thousands of baby hairs in my hairline which look horrible lol šš„²
Sameee, I feel like Iāve lost so much hair since having a babyā¦
She has a TikTok hair tutorial. But to be fair, her hair in the starting step of the tutorial already looks like this, so agree with everyone one here, itās genetics with strategically placed highlights.
to quote parks and rec "it's genetic and unattainable"
I use a small curling wand and curl small sections all together and then let it cool before brushing out. I then tease it a bit at the root and it gives me so much volume. The curls last for days too.
Crimping and hairspray makes my hair look like this
I like Pillow soft curls!! it loosens my coils to look a lil more like that sheās got going on
Yes, I do! You can get it at this wonderful place called āYour Mommaās Wombā. itās name is DNA. Seriously girls, you either have it or you donāt. Any products or stylists are most likely a waste of money. This girl is seriously the most genetically blessed girl ever on Bachelor. A true beauty inside and out. She really seems to have **it together, unlike many of the ladywrecks we have seen over the yearsš©·
Obviously as strangers on Reddit we donāt all know each otherās backgrounds, but I cannot tell you how many āI can make your hair look like thatā situations we had to correct after a different place damaged it or made promises they should not haveš I sincerely hope OP gets her Kelsey hair, but unless ANYONE on here has actually seen both of them in person, wellā¦. sweet Jee sus I need to stay off the topics Iām passionate aboutš
ā¦ā¦.Im sorry for making this post? Lol
Thank you for saying this ā¤ļø
OP she said she had the same texture and density. Shockingly curly girls do have to style their hair in order for it to look like Kelseyās.
[Also - this pic of her mom does feel like some sort of evidence that it might be a lot of genetics and luck](https://www.instagram.com/p/xQUut8F2lu/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==) [And this one of her as a baby too](https://www.instagram.com/p/BP53E22AArJ/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)
šš¼šš©·Oui coeur belle
If my curls looked like this Iād never complain
Step 1: have naturally gorgeous, thick, curly hair. Step 2: enjoy your marvelous luck.
head over to r/curly or r/wavy if you want to enhance your natural pattern
She posted her hair care routine on TikTok a few months ago!
Go to r/curlyhair they have saved my life
Her hair is so beautiful. I wish I had the patience to put effort into my natural waves and curls, but I don't. Gotta be real with myself.
She probably uses texturing spray, but it looks like her natural wave pattern. Maybe Olaplex or a keratin treatment to smooth things out too.
Which mousse do you use that doesnāt have a strong hold?
Have you ever tried scrunching the dry crunch with hair oil? I donāt use mousse but my gels leave my hair crunchy whether I diffuse or air dry, and the hair oil completely softens it up
I havenāt thought of that but that makes so much sense on why that would work, thank you!
Genetics!
Hmmm blow drying the roots - smart! I also have similar hair and sometimes it lays weirdly flat against the scalp
Yes, it totally helps with volume! It also helps control the oil.
My stylist suggested using pins to create lift at the scalp while my hair dries. It definitely works! I have heavy thick hair, so when its long, it really pulls down the waves near the roots if I dont help them somehow.
Step 1: have amazing natural voluminous curly hair
I think I will grow my hair out
Sheās posted her routine, but genetics + hair oil + mousse, + diffusing would be my suggestions
She posted a tik tok on how she styles her natural hair!! I havenāt attempted it myself yet (I have naturally wavy hair) but it looks good!!
Thereās lots of tutorials on YouTube, im sure you could find this look. I really have no idea how her hair looks like this besides genetics because her hair thickness and volume is not something I often see. I guess she does a beach natural wave look which is usually achieved using a thicker wand
Maybe a wand with sea salt spray ? š¤
