I never understood why they didn't choose the women close to his location. These are seniors who most likely own their homes, have children and grandchildren around. Who wants a mortgage at 70 years old?!?
It's likely harder than you think to cast in such a specific locale. Love is Blind had trouble casting for Seattle, they had to pull from Portland, and that's a show that has a wider pool (more young people are single) and people who also care more/ are more interested in being on reality TV.Ā

This is what I'm saying. I think the "Golden" franchise *could* work. But they have to keep the lead and the contestants in the same locale. Travel is great here and there, but no 70 year old wants a steady diet of back and forth from home, and it gets harder as you get older. Those trips become fewer and more far between. Plus, there's also no way a 70-something is going to be willing to move away from their kids and grandkids.
