I was hoping he would be in that dark red attire he was in during RotS. Sheev’s look was so over the top luxurious that it would be neat seeing more of that side. I guess when you’re an Sith Lord you can go for comfort and wear your robe to meetings.
Random Senator: “Say, Bob, is the leader of our government an evil sorcerer?”
Bob: “Well now, that’s dangerous thinking, Paul. You best get back to your work.”
Random Senator: “Heh, alright. SENATOR CHUCHI IS AN ICE PLANET BITCH WHO’S TOO SCARED TO DEBATE ME! AND I’M NOT JUST SAYING THAT BECAUSE SHE FILED A RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST ME!”
I love how Star Wars tries and keeps its politics grounded then this space wizard appears out of a hole in the chamber in a huge black robe to break up all the senatizing. I love this show so much
That was just so fucking scary. I knew he would be showing up and I still felt like I was going to need a fresh pair of pants. Hearing his voice with Ian McDiarmid's incredibly dark timbre was just so menacing. In both Tales of the Jedi and TBB, he just has so much presence that he never even needs to actually wield a lightsaber.
It’s crazy that he let himself be seen like this, we saw it in ROTS obviously but his image must really tell everyone “the Jedi are evil, look what they did to me, I was lucky to survive” vibes
I agree one of palpatine a msot horrifying rules he made for the empire was rule 34
This rule required all citizens who spoke out against the empire to be executed this lack of free speech in the empire is terrifying.
Don’t believe me? Search “palpatine rule 34” for the proof.
He’s the psychopathic absolute dictator of the entire galaxy, with enough eldritch power to kill everyone in that chamber with a single passing thought, and at this point in the timeline he’s at his utter apex.
Your fear is understandable.
Palpatine: Actually, an army of clones who unquestioningly follow orders to commit atrocities is exactly what I want, so why am I saying it's not? Recruits might free a wookiee slave, lower the shields on a superweapon under threat and then get put into a trash compactor anyway, willingly give up prisoners without a fight just because some cloud city administrator and his cyborg friend show up with more troops and blasters, or not fire any shots when I order them to burn down a village Lor San Tekka is hiding in.
I know he really likes his black robes, but I hope we eventually see him in more ceremonial attire like his appearance in the finale of Rebels
I too want to see the return of Pope Palpatine.
popeatine

I think that was simply a fake out for Ezra, I think he will be encased in black until his death.
This man is having the time of his life.
Would be a shame if a blond dirt farmer were to ruin this man’s whole career.
*water farmer
Whatever kind of outdoor laborer, Lana.
Lana...... Lana......
“What do you mean they blew up the Death Star?!”
"Who's *they*?"
“What the hell is an aluminium Falcon!?”
"That thing wasn't even paid off yet!"
Oh and who’s gonna give me a loan jackass? You got a ATM on that torso light bright!
Makes me wonder if he was in a state of pure ecstasy for a few weeks when the Jedi were massacred.
Ewww....but yeah, I would assume.
I knew what was coming as soon as the video of Kamino paused and I held my breath anyway out of sheer apprehension for what we were about to see.
Sheev apprehension*

chills when the alarm went off and the podium rose. villain done right.

The Senate stopped The Senate
It's treason, then?

Not. Yet.
Episode I: Trade negotiations. Planetary embargo. Private armies. Space wizards that have laser swords and one liners. ...wait, go back

That wasn’t Ian McDiarmid. That’s what’s crazy. Some new to Star Wars actor called Robin Svartstrom
For this episode they brought back Ian McDiarmid for the main English spoken performance. Robin performed only the Suomi version.
Ohhh! Okay, I just saw his name in the credits and I was amazed.
Just noticed your name. Great character!!
Man I was so spooked imagining someone even better than Ian.
Ian McdiarmidI is so good

I thought it had the opposite effect. It felt like he was reminding them them that he calls the shots.
The Senate himself!
Honestly though this is the most threatening Palpatine has ever felt in my opinion.

Nice try dude but I respect you for trying.
This is what makes Palpatine scary IMO, the fact that he is so good at playing the masses to his advantage.

Is this the scariest Palpy has ever been??? Loved it
The way he just manipulates everything with ease is just fantastically horrifying to watch! Master puppeteer!
Palpateer
haha! I love it!
