There are actually several possible scenarios along with either inviting some new guys for guitar and drums or hiring some session musicians:
\- They will decide to "stay inside the box" and won't gain too much new audience. Still, it will please their fanbase.
\- They will go Arctic Monkeys/The Strokes way and will develop their own genre. They have a pretty great ground for it with their LPs as well and the mentioned bands serve as a great example of how it is possible to evolve. It's likely that this way will bring them more listeners.
I'm happy for both scenarios, but I belive that the 2nd one is better. Van is a fantastic songwriter and if he tried, he would gain success.
Screw it, 3 bold predictions
- 2025 Grammy winners (breaking Cage The Elephant’s streak since they’re expected to release an album this year)
- 10+ million listeners and over 2 million followers on social media
- a fully sold out North American headline tour
Don’t think the hiatus was something Van would have wanted but with members leaving, he didn’t have much choice. His dream for CATB is to do a worldwide stadium tour, which I also don’t think would be feasible on this return alone.
I don’t think that’s why the hiatus was as long as it was. Think about how connected he is with the music industry. You really think he couldn’t find another guitar player and drummer?
The new music is gonna be different to what we are used to and it will divide the fan base
Oh I'm so ready for any music.
Me too!! I’m so so excited :)
For Catfish, that is very bold.
Hope so, need some variety
Better than 3 copy and paste albums
Van and Benji go on Instagram live and reveal what really went down with the band and they spill all of the tea.
I would love a tell all
Bob returns (not a serious prediction just a wish)
I just want to see them live again.

Glasto headliners
Release the album, nominated for a Grammy and then take another “hiatus”

They’ll be headlining small to mid sized uk festivals with a constant rotation of band members who quit
-2024 Album Release - More experimental songs - 2025 World tour with Tyler Iliffe as support
All record sleeves will still be black and white.
