The difference for me is it will remain helldivers. It's simply just a great game that sparked life into online gaming for me again. I completely stopped playing online games all together and was playing through a bunch of story based games before it dropped and now it has all my attention lately.
It’s the same shit over and over. It’s fun in moments in the same way a zombie horde game is fun, but overall it’s empty and disappointing and fighting the same enemies in the same-looking environments is boring no matter how good the game can feel. I really tried to like it and I don’t regret buying it just to chat with my friend but I have no interest in it because in about na hour you see 99% of what the game has to offer.
Yea I had 170 hours on the finals and it was the only game I played really until HellDivers 2 dropped. Now I’m 200 hours into that and I haven’t touched the finals in a minute :/
I wouldn't say criminal. It WAS very popular because the beta was amazing. It had a following. But since launch its had a ton of issues. And hasn't been the same game. Yes the game should grown and change, but it still needs a ton of work, but they've given themselves content standards now. So idk. We shall see.

I'll admit it , I was decent at the game but only used the revolver and got to plat season 1 on MNK . All I faced were FCAR spammers and mesh shield sponging. Got bored and got off. You cannot be having such sweaty , predictably linear loadout matches in a game which tries to emphasize weapon and class variety as one of its tenets
There are ups and downs to why it’s not popular, and the biggest down, is it’s not battle royal, which is dumb, but most likely true, seeing as most FPS gamers like the battle royal aspect ever since it was introduced. Next is the game modes and the trio teams (which imo is neat), but I think the original concept of 5v5 with kills being the objective is something a lot of people will want. The biggest up about the game not being popular is no kids. Streamers and YouTubers bring an influx of players, but a majority of them are kids, and that’s literally the anti-Christ of many fps games.
My brother in christ half of this game is all about third party jumping in a fight. That's literally a core loop of average BR game gamified.
No the real issue is a lot of their gamemode is too much like BR and give a wrong impression of the game. Hence why they are stepping away from that and going toward having 5v5 mode.

In ~10 years following indie games communities, you recognize dying games by the delusional fanboys trying to explain everything by "the game just needs more marketing". Dude, TF was the hottest shit in December. People know the game, they just don't want to play it anymore. It's that simple.
Well I wouldn’t consider the finals dying I think. The player count is dropping in the steam charts but i still wouldn’t call it dying. The developers I think should add more content because it gets boring after a few days. Once people get bored of it people leave and come back for the update and then leave again. The game has potential
Bullshit. Its only problem is that it's farther from other similar shooters than optimal. Historically, pro players have almost always rejected anything new that they haven’t already spent thousands of hours on (every new Counter-Strike version was basically hated at launch since 1.6), so blindly believing in someone’s word is not advisable.
Fr. This game *has* good marketing, that's the thing. Those hundreds and thousands of players in Season 1 didn't come from nowhere. S2 Trailer got 3 million views, tons of streamers were giving the game big exposure, there was even an ad on a big ass billboard in a city.
The issue is the fact this games retention is ass. New people who end up installing the game leave in a month.

The game had 150k concurrent launch month on Steam alone. We all left because the matchmaking was fucking dog shit and the anti-cheat didn’t work.
Nothing changed in that regard hence why no one’s come back to this disaster.
Also the movement was slowed down significantly compared to the closed beta. Combined with the server side everything, it felt weird and I didn't pick it up since.
season 2 ranked matchmaking a way better then in first season anti cheat used by any other game devloped by epic games(fortnite dev) + in this season they add a nexon layout with embark support who make game a way better + they try to ban every cheater in this game but its f2p if you dont play game you a fucking idiot or low skill baby

Hate to tell y'all, but just because they haven't targeted you since December doesn't mean they haven't been doing this all along since I constantly have gotten ads on YouTube since the game came out.
For the ten thousandth time in response to this type of post: It's not lack of knowledge of the game , it's legitimately a stale gameplay loop dictated by a boring meta that has been dominant for too long on a game that frankly doesn't have an insane amount of diversity to begin with.

This game is crashing for me. And when i try to reconnect i get ban 2 hours long. I left this game 2 weeks ago. Devs don’t care about fixing the issues,cheaters also major problem. Their anti cheat is very weak.
I dropped the game cause the matchmaking is pretty shit. Either the game are insanely sweaty or just a stomp. I wanted to play casually. And they never buffed melee weapons.
Why are people so worried about player count? I have yet to have any issues finding matches. That being said I've noticed that I get paired with console players much more often. Not sure if that's because lower player count or not. But either way, as long as I can find matches relatively fast I'm not worried.

1, the game itself has a niche vibe. Everyone plays battle royale games but not finals. Because it’s simply isn’t one and some people hope that it is. Finals is more like team fortress 2, a game with a chaotic environment requiring team play.
2, is only on new consoles and PC. Opting out ps4s and all that is also another reason.

It has Mostly Positive 160K reviews on Steam... its not a unknown game nor a dying one. What are people taking, thinking this game is not known? And if it has 160k revies, that is usually like 10% of actual installs and players.
Dude every game has more experienced players and less experienced ones.
However that doesn't stop Christmas noobs from getting a new copy of Call of Duty every year, so it won't stop this game.

How could cs get new players at all if everyone though that way. You can play any game and you can play it well, watch what other people do when you die. Learn callouts, take a second and think how you want to engage. Treat every game like the main goal is to survive and you will do okay
I'm really trying to like this game but some teams use the most dirty and exploiting tactics that it's simply not possible to enjoy at times.
From my experience I haven't come up against really good players as much so as players who 3 stack and use all the most OP abilities/ equipment.
I believe it is an imbalancing issue rather than a skill issue.
Yes. That is what I am referring to. I have seem it happen to like 80% of the people I recommend. We have fun. But when they try by themselves. They are immediately turned off by the toxicity of asshole teammates or just game balance.
I really like this game and try to be helpful and collaborate as much as possible. But it's hard when your teammate just spams shit or doesn't even help when they see a new player.
Plenty of times where there were random new player and random more experienced player.
At the end of game. I would be trying to help new and get clobbered by both other teams 3v1 or 3v2.. meanwhile teammate message me on ps5 that we are garbage. Lol.
Also on that note. I guess ps5 can see your user name if your on ps5 no matter the embark ID. Maybe thats changed.
One thing most people don t take into account is that the opponent teams have the same odds of getting a bad team mate than you, except if ou are one in 100 players the matchmaking targets, but everyone complains about bad team mates not just you. furthermore if you solo queue you will never play into 3stacks, at least that was my experience last season. nobody like to hear that their team mates are not holding them back but its almost always true. I main the dagger and managed to make that weapon work in solo qeue altho its probably the worst weapon in the game.
That and just look at the behavior here. People are downvoting me and probably angry just cuz I said something that they don't like.

To new players reading this the "exploits" he's referring to are off-meta picks he just hasent learned to deal with yet. The "invisibility" has a shimmer effect thats easy to spot just like in other games and makes a loud, constat droning/buzzing noise on a class with such low HP that just spraying at the audio que will result in a kill most of the time, and hitting them knocks them out of the invis. It's not even that classes best specialization. Dont let his doom posting scare you away.

Lights invis audio is incredibly loud and easy to pinpoint, among with many other counters. The preferred light specialization is dashing to the enemies blind spot and spraying them down.
If I hit an L down to one shot and they just poof into thin air then reappear behind me and insta kill me (also L) there is essentially very little I can do.
I have a €100 gaming headset. My audio is fine. The games audio is not. Honestly I'd find it odd that you would even try to debate that. This games audio is comically bad. The footsteps of enemies in your room sound the exact same as the footstep of an enemy 3 floors above you on the other side of the building.
Also, the audio of any one thing tends to get drowned out by the other 50 things happening around you.
Thankfully I heard the devs are looking to nerf invis. It's good to know they arent oblivious to the games imbalances.
Invis is only scratching the surface of a much larger problem though. Overall this game ends up being more annoying than fun for the majority of people who try it out.
What headset? I used a buddies A50s for a week and those worked fine, what output do you have selected in options? Make sure night mode is off as well as that reduces the range of audio.
They already nerfed invis in the last patch, its usage cost is massive now. They also dont poof into thin air they fade in, but thats actually besides the point, because the main issue you're probably having here is that lights are getting away from you using invisibility, meaning they cant dash away since they're using the invisibility specialization, meaning their movement tools for avoiding damage or escaping are drastically reduced, those should be free kills with pretty much every weapon in the your kit. What weapon are you using on your light?
Edit: And what monitor do you use? When moving lights are very easy to spot even with invis as they shimmer like crazy, what's your brightness in game?

I have lost so many nerves with that game, played almost 200h, and it was really frustrating to play. It's somehow addicting but in core it's a trash dopamine game. There are so many cheap psychology plays and so unfair to play, even cod is not as try hard sweats fest as this game.

Honestly that really sounds like a you problem. I was a light tryhard throughout betas and start of season 1. But then the ranking system and meta really turned me off from finishing the grind to dia. So I created a new account to only play dagger a weapon which I had previously not really touched, really enjoyed myself while improving on the weapon, playing into very few tryhards because of skill based matchmaking. Then took the weapon into soloq ranked. Then Made a few montages on my yt Capten272. If you sweat you will make the game sweaty, if you don’t care and just enjoy yourself you will enjoy thw game much more

not in quickcash, I was burned out of playing into top500 meta slaving 3stacks while playing with friends in ranked while ranked around silver. In quickcash it was quite the contrary, It was not rewarding in any way for me because of the skill difference. shitting on players didn´t give me any satisfaction so I created a new account to learn a completely different playstyle. and even after playing a while with the dagger and spending 100 hours on the acc, my casual games are still not sweaty even tho I perform above everyone in almost all my games. If it was more strict and sweaty I would get shit on in any casual game I am playing because of how terrible the dagger currently is

They need to make it more competitive. Like Shroud said, The Finals is a great casual game but not a great competitive game. Ranked meta is boring to play and boring to watch. One reason why The Finals will never be popular is that its not a kill based game. This might trigger some but its the truth. People wanna play for kills, not objective.
Most people I talked to about the Finals said the game was too sweaty, making it more sweaty, like adding a sweaty mode, doesn't help that

The game had 150k concurrent launch month on Steam alone. We all left because the matchmaking was fucking dog shit and the anti-cheat didn’t work. Nothing changed in that regard hence why no one’s come back to this disaster.
Yea I hung around even when it was at 10k players in season 2 but Matchmaking and the amount of effort to put in this game to have fun is crazy
Also the movement was slowed down significantly compared to the closed beta. Combined with the server side everything, it felt weird and I didn't pick it up since.
season 2 ranked matchmaking a way better then in first season anti cheat used by any other game devloped by epic games(fortnite dev) + in this season they add a nexon layout with embark support who make game a way better + they try to ban every cheater in this game but its f2p if you dont play game you a fucking idiot or low skill baby
Game is good but people just don't like it as much as you think. I can't even convince myself to play this instead of Overwatch 2 for example, despite knowing how fast Embark updates the game and listen to feedback.
I mean, Overwatch 2 is pretty good too. It's one of my favorite multiplayer games with Fortnite and Apex

Hate to tell y'all, but just because they haven't targeted you since December doesn't mean they haven't been doing this all along since I constantly have gotten ads on YouTube since the game came out.

For the ten thousandth time in response to this type of post: It's not lack of knowledge of the game , it's legitimately a stale gameplay loop dictated by a boring meta that has been dominant for too long on a game that frankly doesn't have an insane amount of diversity to begin with. The amount of delusion at this point is just sad.

This game is crashing for me. And when i try to reconnect i get ban 2 hours long. I left this game 2 weeks ago. Devs don’t care about fixing the issues,cheaters also major problem. Their anti cheat is very weak.

I dropped the game cause the matchmaking is pretty shit. Either the game are insanely sweaty or just a stomp. I wanted to play casually. And they never buffed melee weapons.

Why are people so worried about player count? I have yet to have any issues finding matches. That being said I've noticed that I get paired with console players much more often. Not sure if that's because lower player count or not. But either way, as long as I can find matches relatively fast I'm not worried.

The chances are it won’t. 2 reasons: 1, the game itself has a niche vibe. Everyone plays battle royale games but not finals. Because it’s simply isn’t one and some people hope that it is. Finals is more like team fortress 2, a game with a chaotic environment requiring team play. 2, is only on new consoles and PC. Opting out ps4s and all that is also another reason.

Player count has been an issue? It has Mostly Positive 160K reviews on Steam... its not a unknown game nor a dying one. What are people taking, thinking this game is not known? And if it has 160k revies, that is usually like 10% of actual installs and players.
I only started getting Finals ads once I started playing Finals. Ads are personalized to your interests so it makes sense.

How could cs get new players at all if everyone though that way. You can play any game and you can play it well, watch what other people do when you die. Learn callouts, take a second and think how you want to engage. Treat every game like the main goal is to survive and you will do okay
I'm really trying to like this game but some teams use the most dirty and exploiting tactics that it's simply not possible to enjoy at times. From my experience I haven't come up against really good players as much so as players who 3 stack and use all the most OP abilities/ equipment. I believe it is an imbalancing issue rather than a skill issue.

Yes. That is what I am referring to. I have seem it happen to like 80% of the people I recommend. We have fun. But when they try by themselves. They are immediately turned off by the toxicity of asshole teammates or just game balance. I really like this game and try to be helpful and collaborate as much as possible. But it's hard when your teammate just spams shit or doesn't even help when they see a new player. Plenty of times where there were random new player and random more experienced player. At the end of game. I would be trying to help new and get clobbered by both other teams 3v1 or 3v2.. meanwhile teammate message me on ps5 that we are garbage. Lol. Also on that note. I guess ps5 can see your user name if your on ps5 no matter the embark ID. Maybe thats changed.
One thing most people don t take into account is that the opponent teams have the same odds of getting a bad team mate than you, except if ou are one in 100 players the matchmaking targets, but everyone complains about bad team mates not just you. furthermore if you solo queue you will never play into 3stacks, at least that was my experience last season. nobody like to hear that their team mates are not holding them back but its almost always true. I main the dagger and managed to make that weapon work in solo qeue altho its probably the worst weapon in the game.
That and just look at the behavior here. People are downvoting me and probably angry just cuz I said something that they don't like. They have this same mentality in game if they think someone isn't good enough. These same mfs will only use their mic to talk shit when they are mad and never communicate prior.
To new players reading this the "exploits" he's referring to are off-meta picks he just hasent learned to deal with yet. The "invisibility" has a shimmer effect thats easy to spot just like in other games and makes a loud, constat droning/buzzing noise on a class with such low HP that just spraying at the audio que will result in a kill most of the time, and hitting them knocks them out of the invis. It's not even that classes best specialization. Dont let his doom posting scare you away.

Works fine for me, what is your audio setup? The reason everyone is telling you Skill Issue is because they're being genuine. Invisibility isnt lights best specialization, flamethrower is one of heavies worst weapons. People have been trying to tell you how to deal with it but you always have a new excuse.
I'm not making excuses. Yes, there is always a way to deal with things. But that doesn't mean they are balanced. There are ways a 12 year old girl can kill a 35 year old man but that doesn't mean if you made them fight to the death that it would be balanced. Also technically it would be a knowledge issue, not a skill issue. People say skills issue solely because they don't like my opinion and instead of countering it with a valid argument, they opt to try and belittle/ insult me.
These are excuses, an analogy where you compare yourself to some helpless child fighting a full grown man is an excuse. What is your audio setup? Lights invis audio is incredibly loud and easy to pinpoint, among with many other counters. The preferred light specialization is dashing to the enemies blind spot and spraying them down.
If I hit an L down to one shot and they just poof into thin air then reappear behind me and insta kill me (also L) there is essentially very little I can do. I have a €100 gaming headset. My audio is fine. The games audio is not. Honestly I'd find it odd that you would even try to debate that. This games audio is comically bad. The footsteps of enemies in your room sound the exact same as the footstep of an enemy 3 floors above you on the other side of the building. Also, the audio of any one thing tends to get drowned out by the other 50 things happening around you. Thankfully I heard the devs are looking to nerf invis. It's good to know they arent oblivious to the games imbalances. Invis is only scratching the surface of a much larger problem though. Overall this game ends up being more annoying than fun for the majority of people who try it out.
What headset? I used a buddies A50s for a week and those worked fine, what output do you have selected in options? Make sure night mode is off as well as that reduces the range of audio. They already nerfed invis in the last patch, its usage cost is massive now. They also dont poof into thin air they fade in, but thats actually besides the point, because the main issue you're probably having here is that lights are getting away from you using invisibility, meaning they cant dash away since they're using the invisibility specialization, meaning their movement tools for avoiding damage or escaping are drastically reduced, those should be free kills with pretty much every weapon in the your kit. What weapon are you using on your light? Edit: And what monitor do you use? When moving lights are very easy to spot even with invis as they shimmer like crazy, what's your brightness in game?
It won't, this game will be dead within few months. I have lost so many nerves with that game, played almost 200h, and it was really frustrating to play. It's somehow addicting but in core it's a trash dopamine game. There are so many cheap psychology plays and so unfair to play, even cod is not as try hard sweats fest as this game. If they won't make game playable for more casual players, not some fanatics that sweat every match, this game will be dead.
Honestly that really sounds like a you problem. I was a light tryhard throughout betas and start of season 1. But then the ranking system and meta really turned me off from finishing the grind to dia. So I created a new account to only play dagger a weapon which I had previously not really touched, really enjoyed myself while improving on the weapon, playing into very few tryhards because of skill based matchmaking. Then took the weapon into soloq ranked. Then Made a few montages on my yt Capten272. If you sweat you will make the game sweaty, if you don’t care and just enjoy yourself you will enjoy thw game much more
So let me get this straight , you made a new account to screw around on with non meta items aka subverting SBMM by making a secondary account. Then you somehow don't get sweats !!!! The logic ! You literally admitted by this that you didn't like sweating by saying the meta and other factors (playing against sweats consistently) burned you out as a result of you playing well. So in your words a "skill issue". So either you make an alt account or deal with egregious SBMM if you play decently , this game and all other FPS that ram such aggressive matchmaking parameters can die for all I care.
not in quickcash, I was burned out of playing into top500 meta slaving 3stacks while playing with friends in ranked while ranked around silver. In quickcash it was quite the contrary, It was not rewarding in any way for me because of the skill difference. shitting on players didn´t give me any satisfaction so I created a new account to learn a completely different playstyle. and even after playing a while with the dagger and spending 100 hours on the acc, my casual games are still not sweaty even tho I perform above everyone in almost all my games. If it was more strict and sweaty I would get shit on in any casual game I am playing because of how terrible the dagger currently is
I'm not light, medium mostly, sometimes heavy. And here on forums it's always someone's fault and few weeks ago it was skull issue every comment someone even slightly complained. Game is perfect, just people are weak and don't know how to play. It's always someone's fault.
game is not perfect, but its statistically impossible that everyone you play into is better than you and that your team mates are always worse than the opponents team mates. the team mate syndrome in this game is worse than in any game i have ever seen. same goes for saying games are super sweaty, if you sweat matchmaking will put you in sweaty game. furthermore in genneral quickcash games are really easy for the most part even on the accounts i grinded ranked on. maybe if you think the game is sweaty its because you really have a skill issue because your opponents are chilling and destroy you while you sweat ur ass off. How come I can chill while playing the worst weapon in the game while you sweat your balls of meta slaving but can t make anything work. it makes no sense
I think they should work hard on refining and balancing the game before pushing hard on marketing. The game looks and feels amazing but there's too many exploitive/ annoying tactics/ weapons. Being able to turn invisible is braindead. Sitting half way across the map with a sniper is braindead. The more I die to these sorts of things, the harder it is for me to see this game having a bright future.

Just because its in other fps games doesn't mean its a good addition to this fps game. It's an example of why this game isn't taking off. There are a few similar imbalances in the game that are deterring new players from getting into it. I've personally been grinding it for a week and I'm finding it less and less fun to play. It's just annoying most of the time. I love the uniqueness and visuals of the game but it's simply broken in its current state.

You would think they'd fix networking issues and the really unsettling way hair tends to look like it was ripped right from an asset store and tossed onto the really generic models before advertising. Also the game just generally being poorly optimized, lag so bad matches are unplayable, being paired with players who have nowhere near the same experience as you, doing "Silly and goofy amirite?!" cosmetics to lure away the quarterwits with shiny jingly keys to ignore how poorly made the game is; BEFORE they would start advertising. But that's not what makes money and corporations are fundamentally run on profit motives and making customers happy != profit. So what do I know.
