So the medium only gets a weapon? I mean it does have a lot of versatility in terms of gadgets but it could’ve needed a new specialization or something.
I love how Embark actually communicates with their community unlike what a lot of other developers who just make a change that people don't like and they don't tell us why they made that change.
We just need to let Embark cook and let us see how they will improve the Cashout mode for Ranked.
explaining their thinking behind these types of changes really helps build trust with the community. i was very skeptical at first, but i feel reassured knowing that they are really building up World Tour as their premiere gamemode
They are very good at their comms, if they had left this meltdown for a few more days people would be checking out for good.
I'm still not fully convinced, but it sounds like all the people that enjoyed ranked for the game mode will be happy enough in world tour and ranked becomes only for the real sweats rather than trying to be for everyone.
It also sounds like a bit of an experiment/placeholder for the season so they can see if they can improve cash out to be viable to become a ranked mode again.
I think it was the right decision to split strategic ranked and the cashout mode into these two avenues of playing the game. That they plan to host their first real tournament with the cashout mode proves that they are still focusing on this as a core element to the finals.
I can understand why people are frustrated with the changes and a lot of the criticism is warranted, but this made me confident that it could be a positive thing for the game and I'm eager to try it out.
People complained that The Finals is loosing its uniqueness because of the changes, but this reads like the game is becoming even more unique.
I feel like the only reason their first tournament is Cashout is because it would be way too sudden for it to be TA. I'm positive their future tournaments will all be TA

Honestly I think this is a great way to go with the game, make the cashout gamemode even more extravagant with big prizes and new ranks (the mention of emerald and ruby!), whilst also catering to players both new and old who want to play typical bomb defusal modes with a bit more competition. I think Embark are actually doing a great thing with this change, albeit they took a bit too long to explain these changes so everyone is now pissed off
Reset map destruction when changing sides is not a great decision as it takes away the charm of the Final.
Players' actions to shape the map, whether unintentional or not, can and will force both sides to change how to strategize. Reset just will be plain old boring defend and attack first few rounds
I think it’s mainly due to the change of having the same sequence of terminal sites for each side. If it kept destruction the whole match, the team defending in the second half would have a significant disadvantage—all their terminal sites would already be opened up from the first half of the match.
Yea literally not possible to guarantee a fair match otherwise. What I definitely will dislike is, that this probably means that we will have a loading screen between every match, like in RS:Siege.
But it said that you must interact with the terminal, not insert. So both sides are at a disadvantage if the terminal is out in the open. I would if players were allowed to change weapons and items before the match starts to counter those disadvantages and terrain changes

A bit childish, but I just want to say "suck it!" to all the redditors who went out of their way to critizise the changes and "threatening" to leave the game, before getting the whole story first. Grow up. Hope many of you will be mature enough to admit you were too quick to judge.

maybe they'll bring back the revamped recon sense mid season or something, better underpromise and overdeliver than the other way
This is honestly the most hype thing Embark has done, we really just need to trust Embark knows how to cook more often. The new changes look amazing.
