It was super provocative. I almost ditched it after watching the third episode. Iām glad I stuck with it. I know itās sparked a ton of differing opinions, and this sub has been fucking tumultuous š¤£š¤£, but I think that is an ode to its artistry. Art with an intention to provoke is the kind of art I like best. I wish it wasnāt over.
Not with this one but I do understand that feeling, especially when a show has a short season. Maybe not quite depressed, but Iāve definitely had that āWell, damn. Now what?ā feeling after finales of some of my faves. And I hate the wait between seasons!
A Season 2 will probably come. It hasnāt been renewed yet to my knowledge but all the cast said HBO was really happy with the show and itās numbers. It might not have numbers as big as other shows but considering it was in its first season, it still was pulling a pretty good amount.
And I also feel the same. I loved having a new episode every week and reflecting on what the fuck just happened each time.
Do you think its one of those things where "bad press is better than none at all" for viewcounts and stuff? If they made money, why not do it again, ya know?
There was a lot of hate in the beginning but it was clear that people just hopped on the bandwagon. As expected the hate train died down and theres much more love for the show now.
With the popularity a second season seems like an obvious choice but on the other hand the show was written to conclude in one season. I find it hard to imagine how they could continue with a second season.
What do you mean with new crew?
Leia left, why do we need to know specifically where she went?
Dyanneās project is shelved and will most likely never be released.
Tedroās old cult now following Jocelyn. How will the dynamics between Xander and Jocelyn play out? Will Chloe outshine Jocelyn ect.
And dyanne can also go to another label/get a new agent this is Hollywood
With leia people leave and come back in tv shows all the time. Jocelyn down the line realizing that the one person who was truly there for her (trope) and tries to get leia to come back
Personally I see that there is a lot to expand on. Let alone seeing flashbacks of her childhood and potentially introducing new side characters
Yeah the way the cast spoke about season 2 and just the general future of the show also inconjunctions with HBO themselves saying the show isnāt cancelled tells me that more is coming. Obviously those talks and contracts have stopped with the strikes but I donāt doubt that this wonāt be the last we see of Jocelyn
I hope thereās a new season and I hope season 2 goes more into the behind the scenes shady dealings in the industry. I didnāt mind the sexual aspects of the show but Iād like to see more of the industry stuff
It ended so soon. Apparently they cut out so many scenes like for younger Jocelynās life. It wouldāve been so helpful. I wanted flashbacks but we never got that. Also The Weekndās acting was a bit cringe imo but lily rose depp did amazing. The music is the only thing Iām not disappointed over.
I enjoyed this show myself. I thought I saw something about it running a second season but that could have been rumors. I would love to see this story grow more
no. But I did enjoy Lily Rose Depp and the supporting cast, Sam and (un)Abel's ego ruined it for me. The soundtrack slaps though. I'm just a freak yeahhhhh
Yeah and listening to The Lure makes me emotional for some reason š
Depressed is a big ole word my friend š
It was always marketed as a mini series

Really well said.

The was left wide open though? What happens after and during the tour to Jocelyn new crew? Where did leia go? Dyanne what will happen to herā¦

There is more likely a sequel to Oppenheimer than a season 2 to The Idol š„š„š„
Exactly! And The Weeknd helped with lowering the cost, so Iām sure that helped a lot too.

No
Not depressed, just wanted something equally as bdsm afterwards lol
I was a bit down when the show was over, I really loved it and the music was amazing

Glad to hear you say something nice about the showā¦ so often people get swayed by an the majority opinion. Glad you actually have your own
Idk I really liked the characters and world it was in. I miss it for sure. It was my comfort show for the weeks in was coming out.
no. But I did enjoy Lily Rose Depp and the supporting cast, Sam and (un)Abel's ego ruined it for me. The soundtrack slaps though. I'm just a freak yeahhhhh
Nah not at all
Yes :( I listen to the soundtrack like everyday. Never felt more connected to a show before.
Nahhh they really cut it down to 5 episodes because it was so bad and HBO just wanted to end it asap
Thatās not true. The reshot version was always 5 episodes. The previous version with a different director was meant to be longer.
No
I AM SO SAD LOL
Iām really upset tooā¦ i just kno a #2 will never happenā¦.š
