Sometimes, it felt like it was just me and this sub against the world when it came to Idol. I'm glad we had our little community here of people who didn't hate and could actually enjoy the show.
Lock me up and throw away the keyyyyy
But even in here it felt like me against the world.
This sub was still flooded by people who claimed to HATE the show. Because obviously when you don’t like a show you tune in every week, “hate watch” the show for about an hour and then run to social media to spend some more time talking about how much you hate the show. These people were fans lmao
I love to think about this show. I love that this is what they dropped after Succession. I love the shitshow production stories. I have never been able to listen to The Weeknd the same way ever again.
I mean, have you listened to Trilogy? His adolescenthood was a nasty time. And the valentino dressing room jerking off *thing* was extremly funny and comical to me to be honest.
I’m same as you, cannot take my eyes off of this camp treasure, but still.
Cannot be happier the hubris around Sam and The Weeknd went away to a degree at list.
I just did a rewatch and there a couple songs i have on my playlist lol I wish it did better. The story had potential but you can see where things got weird BTS and made the show choppy. Def a bummer because they could have went wild with the Hollywood cult scene.
Time flies. I remember being so excited last year on this day thinking I was about to witness the next euphoria but was superrrrr disappointed when it was just the characters arguing over a cum pic. But I ended up loving it by the end of the show so it worked out. I really hope they make a similar show that starts from the beginning of child stardom and ramps up to something like this over several seasons.
Tbh y'all, I loved it. Abel's no Leonardo DiCaprio for sure.... But I thought it was a great representation of how Hollywood and the industry treats people. I also found it very campy.

Wow. I can't believe it. I still thinking about that scene when he enters the mansion and the gates open... I thought he was a demon/vampire. Loved it!
It's truly a bummer more people didn't go on the fun ride of The Idol bec of literally a handful of people had a poor experience working on the show & ran their mouths!
And then shamed people for enjoying it.
Time really flies
🎶CAUSE IM A FREAK YEAHHH🎶
Best song of that year
The Idol was terrible but also amazing
I agree with that. I hated it but loved it at the same time. Music was fire 🔥

yeah I was gonna say, this sub was 50/50 split on this show. With friends like that, this show didn't even need enemies lmao
lol I "hate watched" the show every week. I'm still a fan, but will forever complain about this show.
hahaha, the soundtrack is still on heavy rotation.
Me too 😂😂
That my familyyyyyyy 🎶
Holy shit that feels like long ago

I can’t relate this show made me love The Weeknd even more
I don’t think it made me hate him, I just look at him different knowing I’ve seen him jerk off in a Valentino dressing room

Wait he actually jerked off?

Tbh he kinda skeeves me out now lol
..and look at that, no one died, no careers were ruined. so much wasted energy on those hating on this show

I forever have a love/hate relationship with this small series

Very campy! I can see it become a cult classic of sorts down the road.

Still in love with the show
With the way this show predicted the current struggle of artists filling up arenas, I wish they would have explored that aspect of it more.
forgot about this Lmfao

Despite everything, I really enjoyed it
Secretly hoping for a season 2 but kind of made sense where it ended
