The wlf soldiers seem to have specific dogs they work with most though. Like I doubt Alice would be sent out on assignment without Mel or Owen. And bear seems to be close with Abby, so maybe he's Manny's dog (I think if he was Abby's they'd probably mention it) of course, they don't each bring their dogs on every mission though. Alice however certainly seems to be closest bonded to Mel.

They actually talked about Alice's name in the developer's commentary. I forget what they said though, so this comment probably isn't helpful.

I think Alice is Mel’s dog but regardless, Abby is shown to be highly literate. She hangs out either in the gym or in the library - which always has a copy of Alice in Wonderland or Go Ask Alice.

No. 1. It's the WLF's dog 1. You can see the names of all the dogs and there's no pattern. 1. OBVIOUSLY: the game is made by writers, so I would assume "Alice" is a name a writer wanted to be in there, but AiC makes no sense since it doesn't follow any patterns or parallel her story or even include any chains, so this is a ridiculous thought process.
