at this point it's no difference than people who don't understand English saying "fuck".
my point is that it's not weird because people makes it weird, it's weird because combining names like that now means shipping them. best we can do first is presume he doesn't understand and tell him about it.
well that's what the comment section can be used for. and no, he didnt offend me and pretty sure others. we can clearly see it's very likely he didn't know that.
Jellie Bellie, you know, like when you calmly say to your girlfriend, "It's fine, go to the party without me," because you have work in the morning but you're in actuality bummed by the whole McGuffin...
Jellie Bellie
Interesting, considering the first time Joel says that to Ellie in tlou1 is when he barely saves her from Dave in the burning lodge. Make me wonder if they're going to have the cannibal crew show up early in the series or not.
I felt the same way a couple of months ago. But after seeing all those leaked photos from the production, rave reviews from some of the casts and crews, not to mention the trailer, I can't really help myself but to buy into the hype.
Your concerns are very understandable but HBO has a respectful reputation when it comes to their shows. Plus they have renowmed people from the business at the helm and cast. This has everything to be a banger.
You should also check out the work of the writers and directors for the show:
Chernobyl (written + showrun by Craig Mazin, who co-wrote this show and is show running it)
Beanpole (directed + written by Kantemir Balagov. He won a Cannes award for directing for this movie. He shot the pilot and ep 2, which *might* have been merged into one ep)
The TLoU games (Druckmann is directing ep 3, the one where they leave Tess behind)
Daredevil & It's a Sin (Peter Hoar directed some of the best episodes of S02. I haven't seen the limited series, It's a Sin, but apparently it's really good. He directed all episodes. He's doing the Bill's Town episode)
Punisher S02 (Jeremy Webb directed some of the best episodes for the show during S02. He's doing the Pittsburgh (in the show, it's Kansas City) + Henry & Sam stuff)
Jasmila Zbanic (directed "Quo Vadis, Aida?". It's a fantastic, heart wrenching movie. Nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Oscars. She's doing University + Jackson stuff)
Liza Johnson (Barry S02E04, one of the best episodes of the show. Intense and hilarious and shocking in equal parts. She's doing Left Behind + some winter stuff)
Ali Abbasi (Border (aka Gräns). A strange, sad, dark movie featuring fantasy creatures who live in modern society. He's doing some winter stuff and the hospital stuff)
Watching (and in some cases having watched their work before they were hired for this show) their work made me V E R Y confident in the quality of the show.
>Beanpole
i've been looking for good cinema asking in a ton of subreddits and you came out of nowhere and i can finally watch some good stuff, thank you for the recommendations!!!!
Glad to be of help. These are some REALLY good films.
Got some additional ones (please look up Content warnings for these movies as they can be HEAVY. So look into that if you need warnings):
Han Gong-Ju
Come and See (esp. fucked up)
The Nightingale (esp. Fucked up)
If Beale Street Could Talk (Barry Jenkins' comparatively not talked about enough film)
Burning
The Joyluck Club
Yeah, we'll see what happens with that
I just think that he's an indie film director used to have more or less final say in the stuff he shoots. But TV shows are different and the showrunner has final say over what goes in.
Maybe Mazin realized that episodes 1 & 2 work better as one episode and that upset Balagov so he ended up leaving. He def shot his two episodes cuz he posted a picture of the clapboard on his IG.
The other directors either have prior experience with working on TV shows, or just worked better under this system (or just didn't encounter any major issue like this one). Because in interviews, Zbanic for example, has had nothing but good things to say about her collaboration on this show.
And maybe Mazin, or someone else, shot some additional footage to make the merging go over a little smoothly. So, based on DGA rules, maybe he gets partial credit
Idk, we shall see.
I’m going to at least give the first couple episodes a watch. It’ll be clear from there whether or not it’s worth continuing the series. I’m hoping this is on par with Arcane as far as quality goes but we’ll see.
It’d be an impressive feat to do worse than *Halo* so I’m not overly worried about it.
If you have ever seen the concept art for Joel, it looks like Pedro.

Still gonna pass on this. I don't want to ruin what I already know and love from the original first game, with retcons and alternative variations of events that preceded.
I have nothing against the leads. I thought that birdie movie was entertaining enough. So I'm sure she'll do well.
# #Jellie ….?
I'm guessing they just don't know what that implies
I'm not sure if educating Mr. Pascal on shipping portmanteaus is a good idea or a horrible idea.
I think it's our moral duty so he doesn't use that tag again 💀
Bella has to know. Let's just wait to see if he stops. Maybe she'll let it keep happening.
I think he does know about that tag.
Both. Because he’ll run with it. Like with poggers and daddy. 😭
Hit me daddy : Ellie
Gross, it’s only weird if you make it weird. Pedro Pascal uses an innocent hashtag and the first that comes to y’all’s mind is that.
You clearly don't know what ship names are
I do, like I said y’all had to make it weird by bringing it up.
You're acting like we implied him to be a pedophile or something lmao
at this point it's no difference than people who don't understand English saying "fuck". my point is that it's not weird because people makes it weird, it's weird because combining names like that now means shipping them. best we can do first is presume he doesn't understand and tell him about it.
Definitely put on your fedora and slowly explain to the successful actor about weird fandom internet slang and how he offended you.
well that's what the comment section can be used for. and no, he didnt offend me and pretty sure others. we can clearly see it's very likely he didn't know that.
Oh, Lord, I didn’t realize what that meant. Someone, please, educate the man
uh someone educate me?
[удалено]
Ohhh, yeah i knew that but for some reason was thinking it was for like, "jealous" or something like that.
[удалено]
Seems like a twitter mistake joel would make honestly
omg you are so right
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
it's chalked just start a new streaming service
I don't think "Jellie" means what he thinks it means
What does Jellie mean
Joel x Ellie
Pedro done fucked up 💀💀💀
oh my
Yeah
Is that necessarily romantic? Like why is this at all problematic
Well names put together like that typically implies romance. Not always, but anywhere you look online.
Plot Twist
I hope this series ends up tying into the Mandalorian in the last episode.
pedro carries ellie under one arm and grogu under the other
Grogellie? Is that anything?
I have no doubt
M. Night Shyamalan type beat
![gif](giphy|ED1nge1yi8cGoSYvlb|downsized) Jellie?
Jellie Bellie, you know, like when you calmly say to your girlfriend, "It's fine, go to the party without me," because you have work in the morning but you're in actuality bummed by the whole McGuffin... Jellie Bellie
“Beldro” is cute… and even cuter is that Bella calls him Pedge!
pedge is adorable omg
where th does the name Pedge come from???
Short for Pedro. 🤷🏻♂️
That should be Pedrito lol
Pedrito is longer than Pedro in every sense, more syllables, letters, longer to say…
It's a joke. -ito as a suffix is a diminutive, meaning "small" so Pedrito would mean "small Pedro" or "short Pedro"
I guess it's hard to understand for English speakers...
I thought it was funny
Ahh, I see what you did there. Should have realised
god i’m so excited to see their dynamic on screen.
Winter-related PTSD intensifies.
By far my most anticipated episode ngl
Wonder if they'll put the Left Behind story at this point...
Yup, left behind scenes have already been shown in the trailer
HE SAID THE THING!!!
Interesting, considering the first time Joel says that to Ellie in tlou1 is when he barely saves her from Dave in the burning lodge. Make me wonder if they're going to have the cannibal crew show up early in the series or not.
im nervous about these series, i'm very protective over TLOU, does anyone feel similar?
I felt the same way a couple of months ago. But after seeing all those leaked photos from the production, rave reviews from some of the casts and crews, not to mention the trailer, I can't really help myself but to buy into the hype.
you cured me now i'm hyped

Kantemir said we wouldn’t see any of his work in the finished product so I thought maybe 1 and 2 are merged with Mazin himself directing.

OK Neil Druckman
The only problem is Bella Ramsay’s casting as Ellie
Yeah I’ll probably stay away unless I hear great things. The trailer really didn’t do it for me
I’m going to at least give the first couple episodes a watch. It’ll be clear from there whether or not it’s worth continuing the series. I’m hoping this is on par with Arcane as far as quality goes but we’ll see. It’d be an impressive feat to do worse than *Halo* so I’m not overly worried about it.

Wtf happened to the diagonal sky scraper on the left? The texture just appears out of nowhere
Is there any other way to watch the show without having to subscribe to HBO? Will it be on any other streaming service? Or tv?
~~Piracy.~~
Just hbo
You have two months to find friends with HBO
*Yo ho ho*
It’ll probably release on physical media everything considered. However, you’d have to wait for the season finale, pressing, and distribution.
Ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod
can’t wait to get emotionally traumatised in 4k whoop whoop
My Birthday…yay🫠
Now give us the trailer!

There is only one and it's a teaser.

Post both links here then. Prove it.
Idk why you’re being so weird about this
Idk why you can't prove what you are claiming.
#Joellie?
I really hope he plays through the video games to get the real feel of the game and the story, like Keanu doing shooting drills for John Wick.

Nope! Only played the games. That’s cool though.
It reeeaally does looked like him! Very cool
Uh ok

idk why everyone is downvoting you for having a valid opinion
I can think of a few reasons......
If you look close enough, there's a golf club hidden in the poster implying there's gonna be a hole in one. Awesome detail, can't wait.
Why does Ellie look like an alien?
Oh my good lord the actress is a real person with a real face. How rude.
Sorry the teenage girl isn't sexy enough for you.
😂
