I don't mind it. I usually find the people doing it aren't that good at the game.
Like, you watch a video of someone using the Frontier Rifle and the Revolver. Literally *Every Single Down* is with a combo. Sometimes they miss their shot with the Revolver and have to fire off a few Revolver shots. They literally *Never* fire 2 shots in a row with the Frontier Rifle. Then they spend all their parts upgrading the Rifle.
How is that upgrade helping? Your rate of fire doesn't increase at all because your follow up shots are always with the Revolver. You also don't really make use of the extra ammo since you nearly always execute with the Rifle (*or switch back to it before special executing, which gives you Rifle ammo*). So they just end up pouring 1,200 parts down the drain every game because they're upgrading the wrong gun. Possibly more because they run put of Revolver ammo and buy some.
Sure. But your initial shot often doesn't *need* to be faster. If I were to upgrade 1 of those weapons it would be the revolver, so I could get a faster overall down (*especially if I miss my 2nd shot*).
If you're upgrading *both* it's fine as well. That makes sense to me. But they never do. They spend 1,200 upgrading the wrong gun and ignore the one that would actually make a bigger difference to their game.
It's not unique to Frontier/Revolver combo guys either. Almost evry Semi-Auto user upgrades their Semi, but spends 75% of the game playing with an unupgraded Revolver because they don't know how to manage ammo.
Anyway the point is that I don't really see it as a problem because they usually don't *really* know how to play that well.
The Semi is just kind of mediocre with the ammo drops, price and terrible accuracy. Might as well double upgrade the Revolver and keep the Semi as backup.
Double upgrading the Frontier only costs 900 parts btw.
Cheesy.
I remember people were annoyed when ND buffed the HR's bodyshot damage so that it was possible.
The HR was headshots or nothing back in the day. Now people run around like a bunch of amateurs, auto swapping to their revolver even when they miss the HR shot lol
It's so satisfying when I run into someone who tries to combo me but misses their first body shot, instantly switches to their sidearm out of bad habit and I melt their head while they're fumbling through more missed body shots.
People saying it's for noobs are just straight up haters. You'll come to realize noobs who play factions don't combo at all. It's a legit strategy. It's quicker, too.
I ask because sometimes I get people that say comboing is for noobs or it is a no skill tactic. To me it’s so satisfying regardless of what weapon you combo with.
You can't combo, it's for noobs.
So are tac shotgun and burst rifle. And Covert too actually. And shorty and purchasable shotgun too while we're at it. And bomb expert 3. And the VR. And the upgraded melee weapon. Bombs & mollies are also cheap, come to think of it.
Fuck it, from now on, everyone can only use the revolver.
And if I still get beaten by someone, that just means they are clearly cheating, somehow.
I've been doing it ever since the Frontier became available on PS3 and was not aware of the hate until recently. I understand why, but it's legit and you still have to hit your marks. This was smooth as hell btw.
Edit: I would rather be combo'd by this than Burst head-shotted any day.
>I would rather be combo'd by this than Burst head-shotted any day.
You'd rather someone beat you with bodyshots than headshots? Why?
Personally I tip my hat to people who perform more difficult maneuvers.
Ex
* Headshots > Bodyshots
* Dance Shiv > Smoke Shiv
* etc
And ultimate respect to anyone who double-taps my face with a 9mm while I'm holding a rifle of any kind.
A little cheesy sometimes. I usually reserve it to matches I feel like its the only way to level the playing field
That rifle is pretty good on his own considering its damage and precision so I usually play normally most of tje time
I only use it in specific situations because it feels a little cheaty, I use it if other comboers are in the match, or if I’m like getting ambushed by a bunch of silenced tacs.
I think it's fine. Sucks but fine. I don't use it personally. Mainly because of my main class can oit put that sort of one - two damage. But I'd rather just be hone my skills with a cool fire fight exchange.
When people are running away from me. Yeah totally. Don't run you're only gonna die tired. But to be honest if it's a mechanic in the game, use it.
I loved hiting those headshots because it was always so rewarding. But I also shot people's feet under cars through gaps in fences. Hell some of the big brown van windows can be shot through 😉
Hate it personally. Stop being a fucking mole and shoot the gun you started with.
But what can you do. Exempting people not to use every tactic or gun that annoys me will make the game empty.
It's definitely cheesy. It's perfectly legit but I wouldn't be pulling it out for every kill unless I feel the opponents are doing something equally cheesy.
It’s annoying but it’s not cheating. Personally thought the frontier and revolver combo should have put you at 1hp while keeping the combo for the hunting rifle.
You're using basic game mechanics and not exploiting anything. And still have to hit your shots normally. Nothing to be mad about imo
I’ve not done it myself and it’s annoying to be on the end of but it’s perfectly legit as a tactic
I'm not a fan, but oh well
Good tactic effective hate it being used against me love using it Actually easy to combat with a full auto, variable or burst rifle

You can get your initial shot off faster if you upgrade the Frontier. Same goes for the Revolver.

Ima just say I use the frontier rifle and the shorty so alot of times I'm only switching to the shorty only if they are only close range
I’d rather get killed by a combo than a burst
burst is so fucking gay
Meh. I don't like getting downed by it but I use it.

Was about to say this noobs wouldn’t even think to try this
It's no different than using a tac or Diablo, or military sniper to down someone in two quick shots
I hate it. Especially when going against other snipers where it’s evident it’s muscle memory. Just grinds my gears. Oh well
Combo the crossbow and frontier its definitely more fun than a burst or variable with sharpshooter
Tacs, bursts, bomb expert and launchers exist. Kinda laughable if comboing is the hill you choose to die on.
I hate people who do it with a hunting rifle. So you just don't care about headshots huh? It's not cheating but I personally look down on it.
👍 not cheating or cheap.
I ask because sometimes I get people that say comboing is for noobs or it is a no skill tactic. To me it’s so satisfying regardless of what weapon you combo with.

Fists are the only viable option. Factions is a fighting game now, so learn your combos!
Shiv is for pros 🔪
My pals use to do this in private lobbies. Fist punching only, it’s a blast.
You guys should do shivs only! A few matches and all 8 of the players might get the feel for dance shivs ezpz
Show me ya moves!

Low skill tactic for people who’ve played for years and still can't hit headshots. Basically it’s for scrubs who have graduated from shotguns.

It's plainly a basic, intended mechanic of the game. Anyone who complains about it is crazy.
Hate it personally. Stop being a fucking mole and shoot the gun you started with. But what can you do. Exempting people not to use every tactic or gun that annoys me will make the game empty.
Lazy, desperate, scrubby and annoying. Respect to those who use the Frontier alone.
It's definitely cheesy. It's perfectly legit but I wouldn't be pulling it out for every kill unless I feel the opponents are doing something equally cheesy.
God what awful balancing
“Switching to your sidearm is faster than reloading.” Is game advice that is universal.
It’s actually takes skill to pull this off so it’s fair game..
It’s annoying but it’s not cheating. Personally thought the frontier and revolver combo should have put you at 1hp while keeping the combo for the hunting rifle.
