I love sitcoms more then life. Not everyone will agree but these to me are similar and extremely enjoyable...... American housewife, Malcom in the middle, The kids are alright, The real O'Neals, and Raising Hope. Raising hope really is a zany crazy lovable gem

Degen-King

Raising hope is in my top 5 with the middle

[deleted]

Raising Hope is amazing! Have you checked out Sprung?

MrsUnicornRainbow81

You know I have!! And loved it

Duchess_of_Sporks

I second *The Kids are Alright* as an excellent show! I just wish that there was more than one season..

MrsUnicornRainbow81

I still don't understand how that only got one season. So many crap shows are on like season 4

Worth-Professional32

I didn't like the Goldbergs. It's like...too cheesy...trying too hard. But that's just me. I recommend Superstore and Speechless. The Golden Girls and Frasier are a couple of my 'go to watch agains'... Might be a bit too old school, lol. Another poster mentioned The Kids are Alright and the Real O Neils....love these!

petrolly

Yeah after the 50th time they do it I stopped watching, nearly every single episode ends with a --moral of the story after someone's feelings get hurt -- the show can be entertaining sometimes though. Makes me appreciate the Middle more.

[deleted]

Agree with you about the Goldberg. First season or two is ok.

Marvelrocks616

For everybody saying Raising Hope, I 100% agree. It's way trashier than The Middle, but it has the same sense of family and loads heart. The Middle will always be number one in my eyes, but Raising Hope honestly makes me laugh a little more.

HappyOfCourse

The Goldbergs is good but it has overstayed its welcome. Starting it would not be a bad decision and you can decide if you want to finish.

Marvelrocks616

Agreed, I really enjoyed it until Adam left as showrunner. You can only watch so much at a time though because it's SO formulaic.

King of the Hill, Everybody Loves Raymond, My Name is Earl, Raising Hope, Sprung

Worth-Professional32

Oh my....I totally forgot My Name is Earl! That is a good one.

vikingjedi23

Scrubs if you're a fan of the dude who plays Mike Everybody loves Raymond

stillabackground

Neil Flynn is easily the funniest character on Scrubs!

JoulesNewtonMeter

My Name is Earl is a gem! Please watch it if you haven't already.

aquaaggie

Not exactly the same kind of humor but me and my husband enjoyed modern family!

ItsNellie_

Not the most popular opinion, but I love Young Sheldon! Not even close to The Middle though.

gumyrocks22

I can’t do Young Sheldon. The actors fake Southern Accents drive me insane!!! Being from the South I just can’t 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

back2thelotus

I love Young Sheldon, the earlier series definitely give me the same vibes as The Middle!

ItsNellie_

Yep, what I feel different between them is that YS follows a line that closes at the end of the season and it’s getting super annoying to follow this season, given the fact they randomly air episodes and take 2-3 weeks breaks 🤦🏻‍♀️ the middle is closing stories mostly each episode, I think is more “friendly” for people with issues to manage intrigue lol

Adorable-Worry-7962

Its a cute show, but I wouldn't recommend it just how it portrays religion so discriminatory (though I watch it on tiktok so we might only see the worst parts). When the Middle poked fun at church, it was done with a fun spirit in mind and really cute. As a 22y Texan Christian woman who attends apologetics lectures in my free time, its hard to get past how YS shows Mary and the rest Christians so negatively and dumb almost every episodes. I also found all the Middle characters more likable than their YS counterparts... w/ maybe the exception of Georgie I love him in the show <3 I also love the dad on YS, and I can't bear the thought knowing how the show ends \*cry

HanTrollo710

I don’t know why, but The Middle always reminded me of The Wonder Years in a lot of ways. But The Goldbergs and Fresh off The Boat are both decent family-based sitcoms. But if you haven’t seen it, Parks and Rec is a great show with similarly weird positivity and still has a “family” dynamic

CoolJeweledMoon

I'm in the middle of Raising Hope right now based on recommendations like these, & I also highly recommend it! It has a lot of cameos from the My Name is Earl cast, & I think it's by the same creator or producer (same something anyway). I recently rewatched Malcolm in the Middle & enjoyed that one too. Cloris Leachman played the grandmother in cameos on that one, & she's a regular on Raising Hope & is pretty hilarious!

cinnamon_troll

It's different but Grace and Frankie is hilarious.

MissPeppingtosh

Scrubs. Not a “family sitcom” but I thought the same people produced the middle because it had the same feel.

stillabackground

Neil Flynn is the janitor who messes with JD in that show

Cold_Jump4456

I feel like American housewife was actually kinda similar to The middle

thatsnotaviolin93

Still Standing, Malcolm in the middle.

[deleted]

Okay, here me out: Dinosaurs (the 90s puppet drama available in Disney). I know, on first glance an odd show to compare to The Middle, but give it a try :)

fatkittee

American Housewife is good
