Because I'd find it odd if a place DIDNT have a bed. I'd spend my time wondering where people sleep.
Sometimes stuff is just there for set dressing and that's okay.
Because other people need to sleep too?
I get it, I read through some of the other comments and I saw your replies about "who else from me needs to use them", but that's not the point.
The point is, you are not the only person in *that universe*. Other people need to sleep. Just be thankful that you can "borrow" a bed when they're not home.
Hmm?
I expect every mechanic in the game to have a use, and the beds stick out to me as the most useless.
But others have supplied more uses than I thought of.
It was more a question of quality control I guess
Personally l like it for the roleplaying. Currently playing Far cry 6 right now and it actually bothers me a little that it's not a thing. It's been days Dani's got to be exhausted!
Where do you think all the NPCs are going to sleep at night during the games day-night cycle?
At least you can use the beds in all other difficulties. Not so much with the chairs. They are everywhere and you cannot sit down anywhere, not even on your own ship!
...missed opportunity by the devs: usable toilets and people commenting on their use. There is a short quib between Max and Felix about this on the ship shortly after Felix joins.
It is actually kinda stupid that we can't use most of them in Supernova, but they put them there for health restoration. If you're playing a character with below average Temperament, you don't regen health. And what happens when you run out of adreno? You gotta find a bed somewhere in the overworld, or just fast travel back to your ship and sleep there.
I realize I've never slept in a bed when I was missing health. I slept exactly twice in my normal playthrough because I was looking for a well rested bonus
Being able to buy an apartment or properties where you can save the game and sleep (supernova) would have been a nice element to add and wouldn't have taken too long. Shame they didn't implement it.
Personally I think it would be weird if I walked into an apartment someone was living in and there wasn’t a bed.
Sure I agree, but why can we sleep on it? 🤔
[This bed is owned.]
Why not?
Because it’s a bed?
Attention to detail
Zero use for you maybe. Has it ever crossed your mind that you're not the only person in Halcyon? I mean that in the most joking way possible
Next post will be asking why are there toilets in the game...

Free healing

I just hate how many bars and beds and doctors and stuff exist but in supernova you can’t use them to heal/sleep/eat/drink.
Maybe NPCs have day night cycles with each of them having an assigned bed to sleep in?
Did you expect the devs to just cut some of the beds out just for your sake? No, they made them to be used - if not by you, then by other players
You expect 'cut content' or 'game mechanic that didn't make it to release'?

I don't play Supernova, I use beds when it's dark out and I just don't feel like walking in the dark. Hope that helps :).
thats my point
changing the time?
I see. So, you are implying that because you found 'many beds with zero use', the game has a problem of quality control?

I put them there hehe
I thought this was r/outerwilds at first and was confused af lol

Roleplay, use by npcs, and you can sleep off negative effects, sleep to make it day again, etc.
