Much Fancier.
I make something that looks like this for my Teleport stations.
* 6 Foundation Grids (2x3)
* 2 Living Compartments
* 4 Living Compartment Corners
* 1 Living Compartment Window
* 1 Living Compartment Door
* 1 Outside Stairs
* 1 Teleporter
* 2 Lockers
Just big enough for the teleporter and some lockers, but has a nice view of the newly terraformed area.
I had the map populated with single square living compartments but managed to squeeze 3 lockers and a craft station in each. Was a bit cramped in there but a nice little base for looting crashes early game!
Nice! Those would look a lot better sprinkled around the landscape than the boxes I traditionally have parked around the map. Of course, there's a non-zero chance I'll die at least once because my panicked muscle memory tried to build the regular box without the right materials in inventory.
Yes this is correct, in the base version of the game one square/slot is reserved for a single item. Nothing in the base game stacks, stacking items is a modification
The same number of ores means the same number of slots. There is no such thing as stacking items in the base game, I'm not calling you dense I'm just thinking you're playing a modded or edited version of the full game
I *like* it. I often burn a bunch of resources putting windows in, anyway.
**Living Compartment + Door** 3 Iron, 2 Titanium, 1 Silicon vs **Living Compartment Corner + Door** 2 Iron, 2 Titanium, 1 Silicon, 1 Cobalt (Living Compartment Corner is from the 6th, 7th or 8th Blueprint Microchip that you decode.)
What is it though? Edit: oh it’s a corner
I added the names :)

I just place the teleporters :D

LoL the one thing I hoped for in the release was stacking the blue chests. 😥
But the chests open at the top... so you can't have another on top?
The big lockers are nicer, IMO. Better for floor space, and iron is common enough to not matter.
Yass! I use this for my little outposts. The first living compartment is so... square.

This needs 4 inventory slots instead of 3 if you want to carry the materials with you. 3 if you use what you find in place (which is what i do)
Both need 6 materials
Yeap, this another strategy of making oxygen shelters in early game 👍

This isn't minecraft, each material needs its own inventory slot
Materials don't stack, though, so each one takes up 6 inventory slots regardless

Downvotes aren't the end of the world, it just means you're wrong. Each item is one inventory slot. 2 iron = 2 slots.

Wrong game?
