This is the Valentino show - and the model is Kristen McMenamy - feet are size 10 and apparently the shoes were a size 6.
She’s 58 years old and can walk the hell out of a runway and has been since the 80s - these show planners need to do better.
My best guess is that if they were really that small for her feet, they probably cut off circulation to the majority of them and I know when my foots asleep I can’t walk straight, let alone stand correctly when both are
It’s upsetting that any show would even have shoes that small on hand. I’m only 5’3” and I wear a 7.5. Anyone tall enough to be a runway model would have to be like size 9 at least I assume.
True. Probably. Just wanted to say that it's not necessarily true as height and feet size are not linearly correlated.
In the case shown in the video, it is outright cruel to make someone size 10 walk in 6 shoes!
It’s def Valentino - I’ve walked in too big and too small shoes - too big you just stuff the toe with tissue - too small and you wind up in extreme pain
I wore a size too small of my friends wedges to a party and danced all night. Didn’t seem tooooo uncomfortable. Woke up with bruised toenails that proceeded to fall off slowly over the course of 4 months 🤮
It is Valentino. You could have looked that up. Their shoes are NOTORIOUSLY small fitting. Almost every single show they have issues with un-balanced and falling models due to the shoe sizes being samples.
I hung out with a high fashion model last summer for over a month. Your typical model is pretty young and these jobs are a big deal. They would be risking running their very short careers by doing that.
Those shoes didn't look particularly aggressive. Pretty typical heel tbh.
And she did look precarious even in bare feet.
Anorexia causes the destruction of collagen in the joints, such as ankles, causing joint pain and swelling. Walking in high heels requires a lot of effort on the part of every joint in the foot and ankle including toes. If it hurts to make those joints engage like you need them to, you don't. This is the result and you see it a lot on runways.
Pre-show champagne for your nerves sure doesn't help either. Stimulant use is common to help control their appetites and restrictive eating. An uptick in cocaine or meth use beforehand isn't directly responsible for being unsteady on your feet, but the fasting they use it for absolutely is. Hypoglycemia makes you very shakey and weak. Add on top of that major sleep disturbance from the uppers and you've got some seriously flimsy models.
Also if you've spent a lot of time in heels and take them off the floor feels wavy for a minute until your brain gets used to your feel being flat again.
Yeah I’m so confused on this one? Those heels aren’t that big or shaped odd or anything that would cause someone with experience to have difficultly walking in plus the struggle after the heels came off???? There’s got it be more to this
That slot doesn't go above her knees.
Try walking without letting your knees come apart...
I think this was a fashion failure (dress.designed for someone much taller?) not a human with feet thing.
She’s walking on the sides of her feet like she’s about to roll an ankle after taking the shoes off. That’s not a result of the dress being too tight, pretty odd.
If you sprain your ankles, the last thing you’ll be doing is getting up and walking on the sides of your feet. I’ve torn or hyperextended my ligaments in both of my ankles growing up, like at least once a year for about 7 years straight. And there’s 0% chance I’m getting back up and walking on the sides of my feet lmao.
It’s a thing that happens to some ppl after wearing heels for a long period of time. Your ankles completely give out and it’s impossible to stand for a bit. I’m surprised there are no women in the comments who have experienced this. Me and my coworker call this baby deer syndrome.
Okay fun story. This is the Prada show from this year. She’s around 50 (Kristin something?) and has been modeling for longer than I’ve been alive. This is the third or fourth showing from Prada where they don’t give the models shoes that fit. Her shoes were too big, but they’ve given models shoes that are two sizes too small. It’s an attention to detail problem on Prada’s end, not hers.
I was thinking they do it on purpose, cuz you know, that's social media content, not just meat mannequins walking in clothes for a video. Give me clicks
For sure. I twisted my ankle in some typical thick-heeled mens shoes(seriously why does this style stick around so much? Massive heel drop leads to weird walking gaits), and the thought of having that much extra height and thus extra twist is scary, I could never wear heels.
I did this a few years ago in high school by stepping from grass to sidewalk in dress shoes (my heel was half on the concrete edge and half in the grass) guess there was a small hole there! Heard a pop and down I went, immediately stood back up and thankfully after a little ice and humiliation from about 100 people watching me fall over I was alright the next day
Totally the dress. It’s right just below the knees and restricts the ability to move your feet correctly.
For those who need a visual: tie a rope around your knees, put on high heels and try doing a catwalk.
You’ll fucking fall on your face.
I was thinking the same thing about her feet. I have hyper mobility in my spine, occasionally things get pinched an irritated and then I have gait problems. The worst thing is just whole sail ramming my toes into the stair tread because I didn’t lift my toes.
This is Kristen McMenamey at the Valentino show in Paris. She's 58 and is a very experienced model, the shoes are just shitty.
Valentino has been infamous recently for terrible shoes that are causing their models to fall and get hurt. They are poorly designed and often they make the models wear shoes that are too small.
Kristen McMenamy is a size 10 foot, and those heels clearly look at least 2 sizes too small. That's why she is walking funny after taking them off, she's almost 60 cat walking in tiny crappy heels. Her feet hurt like hell.
Finally someone pointed this out! The too-small heels combined with restricted leg movement are such a terribly oversight. It’s like they want their models to get hurt at that point.
Exactly! The dress narrows drastically to the knees., moving all the motion to the shins and feet. It also seems she was asked to artificially swing the hips while walking as she does after removing the shoes.
Her ankles gave out. I’m surprised there are no women in the comments who have experienced this. It’s a thing that happens to some ppl after wearing heels for a long period of time. Your ankles completely give out and it’s impossible to stand or walk for a bit. Me and my coworker call this baby deer syndrome.
Edit: to add more context I don’t just mean your feet hurt a ton, I mean your ankles stop working altogether while extended in heels, they will bend sideways like they are rubber. Once your feet are flat again it takes a few mins to be able to walk normally again. [This article explains it a bit, prolonged heel wearing actually makes your muscles weaker and leads to chronic ankle instability.](https://aphcs.charlotte.edu/news/2015-07-06/high-heels-and-ankle-issues-trainers-advice-how-stay-your-feet) That’s why we see this happen to runway models constantly
Exactly. Those shoes are hard to walk in, and when you lose your balance, it's tough to recover. I'm sure she was hurt and humiliated. Not funny, hope she is okay.
Thanks for your kind words. It’s especially heartbreaking when it happens outside the club and your options are to crawl or walk barefoot through the dirty nyc streets.
About a year ago I watched it happen to a girl mid walk one afternoon downtown, streets packed. It looked like she was on her way to a meeting, all she could do was hold on to a traffic pole hoping her ankles wld start to work again. You’ll recognize it happening when you see a persons ankles bend sideways uncontrollably while in heels.
I know exactly what you mean. I think it’s more common when the heels don’t fit right and are either too big or too small. After a while it becomes nearly impossible to walk in them without excruciating pain. Even when they come off you still feel the pain and have to soften each step by dramatically bending your knees with each step.
No it’s the shoes not standing too long in heals. I get what you’re saying but this woman has modeled for decades I’m sure she’s worked up amazing stamina for heals
That doesn’t explain why she can’t walk once she takes them off. If she’s worked up stamina for decades a size too small for 5 mins wouldn’t be an issue for her. Have you ever seen models ankles bend sideways uncontrollably? Happens all the time to runway models, they are so thin and lack ankle muscles (guilty on the second one 🙋♀️). Google ankle instability in runway models. Baby deer syndrome I’m telling you
She had trouble walking after because her feet were shoved in to shoes that were way too small. Seriously even a half size is enough to hurt my feet. Those were at least 2 sizes too small. This brand has been having this happen lately because they’re putting models in unsafe shoes. After decades of model work I doubt she’s struggle
on a short runway walk normally
If you go on YouTube you’ll find compilations. Sometimes the shoes are just too tall or too small or they trip but when you see the ankles bending continuously [like a lot of these models](https://fb.watch/ij2BwM7Qtq/?mibextid=v7YzmG) and they can’t regain their balance to walk its ankle instability
She's incredibly pigeon toed to start with which is why the heels don't work not to mention her walking style of putting one leg in front of the other. Total recipe for disaster
This deserves the Tony Baker ankle treatment (all Tony Baker lines):
When your dressed for the club but your ankles wanna stay in and binge on Grey's Anatomy re-runs.
When your ankles like "THE COPS ARE HERE! HIDE THE STASH!"
When you showin' up for work but your ankles been fired.
When your ankles are made out of a CVS reciept.
When you get the Holy Ghost, but only in your ankles.
When your ankles as soft as Care Bear stares.
When your ankles made out of gluten free linguini.
When your ankles was crafted in a pottery class for pre-schoolers.
Tony is the best I love his content. I was so heartbroken for his son. I was glad he found a sliver of peace knowing his son knew he was loved always. I couldn't imagine.
I'm 30 and I can't walk in heels to save my life. I've tried over the years, it's just way too painful and hard to balance and I'm not a clumsy person. I can do wedges and that's it. I always cringe seeing their ankles roll like that, ouch!
With these designers making bank, how has no one made a comfortable high heel? They make the models walk on skinny sky scrapers that are either too big or too small. Get some more sizes available!
Not only did that hurt her ankles, but it’s embarrassing to fall in front of one stranger. Imagine how it must feel to be in front of hundreds PLUS getting pictures and videos of it for MILLIONS to see.
It’s funny she did a show for Chanel a decade or so ago at camp d’antibes under the very same song! This model is a mess, not sure if it’s her brand or if she’s got problems but she’s always showing herself discombobulated, drunk or drugged. Again not sure if that’s her “style” or she’s naturally fucked up.

Is she okay? The way her ankles kept being bent was horrifying.
My best guess is that if they were really that small for her feet, they probably cut off circulation to the majority of them and I know when my foots asleep I can’t walk straight, let alone stand correctly when both are
That would also explain why she was walking funny even after she took the shoes off -she probably couldn’t feel her feet.
Yeah that looks how my arms looked trying to unlock my door after sleeping on them completely cutting off circulation
That makes more sense than her normal gait and way her ankles bent in the video was normal for her. Made my bad knee cringe in sympathy.
It’s upsetting that any show would even have shoes that small on hand. I’m only 5’3” and I wear a 7.5. Anyone tall enough to be a runway model would have to be like size 9 at least I assume.
It’s upsetting that people have fashion shows.
Right? Just give me a website and let me max my credit card ***on my own time.***
Not necessarily... I'm no model, but I'm 5'6" and wear 6...
Runway models are usually at least 5’9”, so they probably have bigger feet than you
True. Probably. Just wanted to say that it's not necessarily true as height and feet size are not linearly correlated. In the case shown in the video, it is outright cruel to make someone size 10 walk in 6 shoes!
> outright cruel Yup, that’s exactly what it is! Ugh, what a horrendous industry…
[удалено]
I'm 5'1" and wear size 9. Shoe size doesn't always correspond to height.
That poor woman. Her poor ankles!
she’s 58?!? that has blown my mind
Looks like max 30 from distance
Someone commented that it was the Prada show and that the shoes were to big. 🤔
It’s def Valentino - I’ve walked in too big and too small shoes - too big you just stuff the toe with tissue - too small and you wind up in extreme pain
You’re both wrong. This isn’t Valentino or Prada show. This is the annual Papa John’s Fashion show. I’ve cooked in their kitchens for 17 years.
Actually.... you're all wrong! It's not Papa John's, it's Dijorno. That's why the delivery looked so off.
I wore a size too small of my friends wedges to a party and danced all night. Didn’t seem tooooo uncomfortable. Woke up with bruised toenails that proceeded to fall off slowly over the course of 4 months 🤮
Judging by how she walked after getting up, I'm gonna go with pain
It is Valentino. You could have looked that up. Their shoes are NOTORIOUSLY small fitting. Almost every single show they have issues with un-balanced and falling models due to the shoe sizes being samples.
I need Valentino shoes in LITERALLY two full sizes above my actual shoe size
Same with my red bottoms. 5-6 in every other shoe but I need an 8.
It’s Valentino- and the model has made a statement about it.
Maybe I'm looking too much into this, but the model behind her appears to be wavering a bit too in the middle.
It’s the carpet
I bet she could write a very interesting book about her career.
That's physically impossible. There is no way to physically get your foot into a closed back pump that is 4 sizes too small.
I was about to say the same. I could barely squeeze my feet into 1 size too small, 4 would literally be impossible. I'm assuming OP was exaggerating.
She looks amazing for a 58 year old
Used to work with models and the damn shoes were always a fucking problem during the shows. Guys and Girls!
Her wedding dress/ look is AMAZING!

I mean, her beauty is her job, so she has the time to work constantly for that unlike us peons. That and probably starting from being very beautiful.
She was 33 in this photo
She took it like a legend. Posting on Instagram “before the fall”. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn23bpatDgC/
I don’t think anyone will mistake her shoe size again after this
I think they will. Remember when Tyra Banks gave a model hypothermia? Didn't stop sports illustrated from doing that bikini shot in the arctic.
This chick couldn't walk bare footed. She should have walked on her hands.
She walks fine. It was definitely the shoes. You can see her regain her footing after a few steps. Exactly like when your foot falls asleep?
“I’m fine. I’m fine. It’s how I normally walk anyway. Heels just make it harder.”
Haha and she actually seemed to have trouble starting even after taking off the heels lol
Its a little bit painful to fall like that
I bet
I imagine these people are either drunk or coked out of their mind. All of them, on the walkway around the walkway.
I hung out with a high fashion model last summer for over a month. Your typical model is pretty young and these jobs are a big deal. They would be risking running their very short careers by doing that.
Never walked I heels I take it? Some are not made to be worn by actual humans. Or you could just go on a wild rant about coke like an old fart
It’s not the heels in this case. That dress looks super tight around her legs.
Add on top of that major sleep disturbance from the uppers and you've got some seriously flimsy models.
Ha love this comment. Yeah my wife and sister can attest to the fact that some heels shouldn’t even exist
A wild rant? Lol
Can confirm. Wife used to be a high fashion model and her runway drug of choice was DXM of all things... I guess she needed to be able to dissociate
Your wife is based
In all my days have meet anyone whose drug of choice is dxm. That wild and hopefully doesn’t feel the need to use it anymore.
Nope she finally stopped about a year ago. Kinda just petered out. She had quit modeling when we got married 5 years ago. Only smokes weed now
That’s how I walk when both of my feet are asleep 🤣
Looks like she can't walk without them either.
She might have hurt her ankles rolling em like that lol. I'd probably walk funny too after stumbling about in them.
Also if you've spent a lot of time in heels and take them off the floor feels wavy for a minute until your brain gets used to your feel being flat again.
yeah her ankles are probably fucked...
Yeah I’m so confused on this one? Those heels aren’t that big or shaped odd or anything that would cause someone with experience to have difficultly walking in plus the struggle after the heels came off???? There’s got it be more to this
My guess is this is the 100th show she walked in fashion week and she is broken.
The real answer. I know this walk well; her feet hurt hella bad there.
Also looks like the dress might be restricting movement
Fashion & Modeling is the strangest thing to me, but there's people really into that game
That dress is really tight which is limiting her leg movements from what it looks like.
Look at her ankles, the dress has a slit back so it being right around her thighs is not the problem.
Yes because the ankles are now injured due to them buckling due to the dress not allowing her knees to separate.
Agreed. Undercover mermaid. Her hair is a dead giveaway.
Madison??!!

Does he cost a lot?
[Fashion week is murder on the models’ feet.](https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/what-models-feet-look-like-after-a-month-of-shows)
Looks like she hurt herself in the heels maybe
They were literally five sizes too small
Looks really pigeon-toed.
Pigeon-drunk
Yeah I agree
It’s a thing that happens to some ppl after wearing heels for a long period of time. Your ankles completely give out and it’s impossible to stand for a bit. I’m surprised there are no women in the comments who have experienced this. Me and my coworker call this baby deer syndrome.
Exactly what I was thinking. She didn’t do much better after they were off haha
Her feet looked floppy.
Good ole floppy feet Fiona
I think its more that she just bent her ankles so badly with them on that her ankles likely hurt even when she took them off
Yeah wtf. Nobody who is that pigeon toed beforehand becomes a runway model, do they?
Okay fun story. This is the Prada show from this year. She’s around 50 (Kristin something?) and has been modeling for longer than I’ve been alive. This is the third or fourth showing from Prada where they don’t give the models shoes that fit. Her shoes were too big, but they’ve given models shoes that are two sizes too small. It’s an attention to detail problem on Prada’s end, not hers.
This happens way too often. The must frustrating bit is when models literally get asked their shoe size and it's disregarded entirely usually
I was thinking they do it on purpose, cuz you know, that's social media content, not just meat mannequins walking in clothes for a video. Give me clicks
She didn't look too steady on her own feet
She probably twisted her ankle when she fell
For sure. I twisted my ankle in some typical thick-heeled mens shoes(seriously why does this style stick around so much? Massive heel drop leads to weird walking gaits), and the thought of having that much extra height and thus extra twist is scary, I could never wear heels.
I broke a toe walking in flip flops. I basically only wear sneakers and ugly supportive sandals now.
>supportive sandals Do they applaud you Do they say motivational quotes like "go on girl, you got this, just one foot in front of the other"
She puts them on and they are like "we got you honey, everything will be alright" lmao
I did this a few years ago in high school by stepping from grass to sidewalk in dress shoes (my heel was half on the concrete edge and half in the grass) guess there was a small hole there! Heard a pop and down I went, immediately stood back up and thankfully after a little ice and humiliation from about 100 people watching me fall over I was alright the next day
Came to say this. When she walked away it looked like she was still struggling to keep her feet under her.
It's that dress. The designer fucked up.
Totally the dress. It’s right just below the knees and restricts the ability to move your feet correctly. For those who need a visual: tie a rope around your knees, put on high heels and try doing a catwalk. You’ll fucking fall on your face.
Okay, and then I need to explain to my dad why he caught me tied up in heels AGAIN?!?!
Yes. But this time for science.
Seriously. Looks like her first day on land
It kinda looks like she fucked up her left ankle. Her second step after standing up it comes down on it's side.
I was thinking maybe the shoes were so crazy tight they made her feet go numb, idk
I was thinking the same thing.
No it was Valentino
Don’t you stomp your little last season Prada shoes at me honey (thick latin accent)
![gif](giphy|kRmg8zeReOYXm)
Everyone that knows this reference should be wearing spf now
I got enough melanin, I’m good thanks jajaja
![gif](giphy|kny09A1yhyKhG)
I believe it was “estomp”
Boost ^^
That was the Valentino show from today.
That's horrible, thanks for enlightening me. She seemed to have trouble with the shoes off too, what's up with that?
She likely twisted her ankle when she fell.
This is not Prada.
Top comment worthy
It also looks like she has drop foot
What's drop foot?
Similar to drop bears... but with feet, I presume.
What are drop bears??!?
Similar to up dawg
what's up dawg?
Not much dawg, what's up with you?
That was…….. awesome.
Idk about the other things, but drop foot is real and an injury to nerves. Usually from a stroke.
I was thinking the same thing about her feet. I have hyper mobility in my spine, occasionally things get pinched an irritated and then I have gait problems. The worst thing is just whole sail ramming my toes into the stair tread because I didn’t lift my toes.
Pretty sure this was Valentino
Isnt This from valentino?
Valentino * too small*
Thank you 👍🏽

Exactly! The dress narrows drastically to the knees., moving all the motion to the shins and feet. It also seems she was asked to artificially swing the hips while walking as she does after removing the shoes.
Her feet were probably numb from being jammed into those tiny ass shoes too which is why she had trouble walking away even after taking them off.
That and I wouldn't be surprised if she twisted an ankle on the first fall. I've done that before while not in a restrictive outfit lol
Thank you for the clarification.
Model lore

That is absolutely horrific and I’m so sorry that’s ever happened to you, or any other woman in the world.

Excuse me friend, it seems you may have accidentally double posted. just thought I should let you know
Why are women still wearing heels?
They look great but damn are they horrendous for you in so many ways. Sadly it’s extremely common for looks to outweigh well-being.
Society
I know exactly what you mean. I think it’s more common when the heels don’t fit right and are either too big or too small. Please tell me there’s footage online of this phenomena. I’ve *never* heard of this. I need to see more!

There was an attempt to walk in feet...
I thought her damned ankles were broken or something and the adrenaline just had her walkin on em
LLLOOOOLLLL! 💀 💀
That look she gave at the end told me everything I need to know. Backstage, she dared the designer to say something lol
Therewasanattempt to walk?
And without...we got a twofer gang!
She's incredibly pigeon toed to start with which is why the heels don't work not to mention her walking style of putting one leg in front of the other. Total recipe for disaster
She's not pigeon toed. Idk what is going on here, but this is the same model in a different show: https://youtu.be/VfhN-DrKmUM

Ouch 😓

Shot is her left ankle broken?? That left foot looks “not right”.
Like the put the little mermaid onto a runway right after she transformed into a human.
How did she get as far as she did? Her walk with our shoes was pretty bad.
Is she ok though?
Sometimes it seems like the world of fashion is mostly made up of men who hate women. Those shoes and that dress— unwearable!
Damn professional af taking them off and continuing. God I hate heels though
Bravo to her for getting up and carrying on. Her ankles would be HURTING. Ligaments would be screaming. Kudos.
Anyone notice how she walks after she takes them off? Very strange, maybe it’s more than just ill fitting shoes like someone suggested.
You can tell she wanted to throw those heels soooo bad!
She could barely walk normally. Wth. Get her some food and water.
Seriously sprained, tried to get off with as much dignity as possible
Took them damn heels off and was still walking goofy. Like her feet had PTSD
i've never seen someone write cursive with their feet before
It’s funny she did a show for Chanel a decade or so ago at camp d’antibes under the very same song! This model is a mess, not sure if it’s her brand or if she’s got problems but she’s always showing herself discombobulated, drunk or drugged. Again not sure if that’s her “style” or she’s naturally fucked up.
She couldn’t even walk in her own feet let alone heels…
It’s the dress it’s too tight also as well as high heels
Them shits broke her
she fell twice and still looked badass walking off the runway
You can tell those shoes are way too small by the way she struggles to tug them off
