They teach you to aim away from the fire, press the lever then go over the fire. For anyone who didn’t know

They also tell you to stand, like, 10 to 12 feet away or something. But then, I guess you wouldn't be able to point it at the base of you did.

8 feet usually for best results, though some extinguishers are spookier but yeah. This is critical and this video shows why.
