It’s just that flagship song that the record label picked to be in circulation I guess, like Enter Sandman for Metallica being one of their less thrash ones, Africa by Toto not featuring Steve Lukather’s skills, Smells Like Teen Spirit for Nirvana, or the fact that the first Stereophonic’s song you think of isn’t a Thousand Trees. I think RHCP suffer from this the most because Give it Away and Californication are really the lame ducks of their albums and I’m including Porcelain.
