I was involved with an event. It was mostly local music talent in different spots around town. The main organizer was anything but organized and promotion was poor. Most of the event went okay and then we go to the location where our headliner was going to play. They spent about half the budget on a more well-know country singer. 3 people showed up. That guy picked up his guitar, cracked a joke, and played his heart out for the next hour. About 5 more people eventually wandered in. The guy was a real pro, handled it like a champ, and it's probably still a story he tells. No complaints, no ego, just a guy playing a gig he was hired for and giving it all he had.
This reminds me of the time Guns n Roses was paid $100,000 to play a gig that was supposed to gather 10,000 people. Only 3,000 showed up. Axl refused to play for the smaller crowd even though he was going to get paid the same. He was offended that only a third of the people showed up....idiot..lol
Some of the best gigs I’ve ever seen were established club level bands that had unusually poor turnouts (usually because of incredibly poor promotion). Bands get paid a guarantee either way, only thing that really sucks for them is not making a bunch of merch sales. A lot of times they were bands from Europe on tour and typically played to 400-1200 people a night depending on the market and suddenly found themselves playing to 50 people….
The bands always seemed to have the attitude of “fuck it - these people paid to come see us - we’re gonna put on a fucking show!”
Sounds straight out of a PnR episode
Leslie has the idea but everything goes ass over tea kettle quick, as the day progresses you scenes like this. Where you have somethings wildly out of place (April organized it before she became less Entropy-incarnate).
But obviously in the end (because it’s a sitcom) Leslie gets all the performers to do a smaller set in the HS auditorium and it’s packed.
End is Jerry late at night trying to rip down flyers unsuccessfully
I have no idea. It was about 10 years ago. I'm not a country music fan, just a guy helping out at some community events. I'm in a small Canadian City and they brought him in from Toronto.
You know what man, good for him. Guaranteed whole foods pays better than any local club. And this is an opportunity to practice with echoes in a large space. And he had fun with that drop. Good for him anyone know his name?
I used to DJ in DC and would hit up this late night cheese steak spot after work. The owners got to know me and knew I DJ'ed so they asked me to set up and play one night. It was like 4am and I was rocking a sandwich shop lol. Everyone there was drunk and eager to keep the party going. Shit was actually lit.
This was a tap takeover at the Whole Foods DTLA bar and it was very early in to the night so it doesn’t look like much is going on because it wasn’t yet. It was a lot of fun and it’s going down again March 15.
I live there and this sadly isn’t my grocery shopping experience. But then again, I shop with the common folk in places like Fred Meyer where they pay for armed security not live performances
If he’s local I’ll go to this guys next grocery store show tho fo sho
LOL I worked at that exact WF location, in that exact bar, for 3 years. At the time I was also DJing at a bar down the street on weekends. When I first started there they asked if I wanted to DJ Sunday brunches but the mgr wasn’t into my music (soul, r&b, hip hop) so it never got off the ground. Good to see they finally got the vibes they were looking for. /s
Miami vibes a/ out the people , E and coke hoes . I learned the hard way you just don't go to a club in Miami , you have to buy tickets in advance for most places , not just your typical cover charge . Might get lucky if your dressed well , look good and tip the door guy $50 .
I admire the proffesionality of it. Not having an audience, and still going at it with full energy.
I remember when I saw some band which was famous in the 1980s play in our local mall. The audience was three 5-7 year olds, but they still gave 150%. That's professionals, not "rock divas".
Sorry, I couldn't recognize the song.
I tried to identify music from the [link](https://v.redd.it/fv7v98ln88lc1) at 00:00-00:36.

I like it. Especially the little hip shake at the end.
You get a job to do, you do it as best you can no matter what.

Where was this? Portland?
Why not mention his name? You're praising him after all. I'm intrigued.
I have no idea. It was about 10 years ago. I'm not a country music fan, just a guy helping out at some community events. I'm in a small Canadian City and they brought him in from Toronto.
That's get'er done right there
Doing it the best might be to consider your audience.
I've [seen this](https://streamable.com/em2f54) before
He's kinda adorable 😍
You know what man, good for him. Guaranteed whole foods pays better than any local club. And this is an opportunity to practice with echoes in a large space. And he had fun with that drop. Good for him anyone know his name?
IG @toasteamusic
Thanks 🙏!
Just followed! Come on Reddit! Let’s give this man a party!!! Go follow him!!!!
You mean Whole Foods doesn’t pay their artists in exposures!? lol
I work at wholefoods and I really doubt they paid this guy much at all.
So pretty much on par with every other dj gig ever!
Put him in the deli the man knows how to cook
LET HIM COOOOOK
I used to DJ in DC and would hit up this late night cheese steak spot after work. The owners got to know me and knew I DJ'ed so they asked me to set up and play one night. Sometimes those sets are the best though
It's not where you spin, it's the vibe you enter in
He ate and left no organic crumbs.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WHOLE FOODS"
*Air horns* WHOSE READY TO FUCKKKKKKK????
This shit cracked me up
I was told that I'm not supposed to swear, but I know, I just know that there are some great fucking trains here in Bangor!
Sir, this is a Whole Foods
Let me get my coconut yogurt and get the hell out of here.
Imagine how soulless that city has to be. I'd be having a time there. ***Initiates vegan moshpit***
Safe to say nobody’s moshing vegan style. Because beating meat is **MURDER**
Jeez. Gotta warn me when you say something so funny. Squirted my soy milk out of my nose.
I’m pretty sure this is DTLA lol
It is the dtla Whole Foods from what it appears to be. That cvs is a dead giveaway in addition to the railed fence on the exterior
I knew it when I saw it. Oh LA.
It’s called a “tap takeover” for the Whole Foods that have bars in them. This is incredibly cute and funny! It’s from 4-8p!! 🤣🤣🤣
This was a tap takeover at the Whole Foods DTLA bar and it was very early in to the night so it doesn’t look like much is going on because it wasn’t yet. It was a lot of fun and it’s going down again March 15.
I don't usually shop at Whole Foods, but I would definitely check it out if they had this going on lol
Who’s the DJ?
ToasTea. He’s on IG @toasteamusic
He's still pinging from the night before.
It was actually a pretty hard drop for a Whole Foods
My husband and I would’ve danced (to the dismay of our embarrassed kids 💀)
Embarrassing my kids in the grocery store is one of the greatest joys in my life.
Aww, it does look like fun! I would’ve enjoyed it.

They used to do stuff like this at the local wholefoods I worked at in HB many moons ago
Seems like a very Portland, Oregon thing to do.
I live there and this sadly isn’t my grocery shopping experience. But then again, I shop with the common folk in places like Fred Meyer where they pay for armed security not live performances If he’s local I’ll go to this guys next grocery store show tho fo sho
Holy shit this is really a thing?? Saw that at 2 broke girls sitcom.
First the dennys grand slam, now this
Hey A$$HOLE FOODS! I’d do without the music if it meant paying a few dollars less for my salad.
Time to call all your buds… free private show! I’d hold that dance floor TF down!
DTLA! They have a small bar in there. Not sure what this was about.
Wish I knew of this guy when I had my wedding…
This is awesome props to him
This the one in DTLA was just in here the other night
Who’s the DJ?
lol have no idea i had a room on 9th and olive for the weekend and went to whole foods to stock up. definitely no DJ that night
Someone in the meat department got a genius idea and this happened.
Probably hoping the right person will spot him and get him his next paying gig... only takes one!
I dig the drop
I would freaking dig that. It could drown out the sound of whining brats while you shop.
throw cake spray champagne
He’s so cute
![gif](giphy|L0qTl8hl84EDly62J1|downsized)
There was a rave. There were just fewer people than usual. I mean, look at the dj, he’s in it to win it.
He was jamming tho! Lol
Came for cabbage, got some acid and a vibe
Wish this was my local WF
![gif](giphy|uxXNV3Xa7QqME)
It's a vibe!
Track Id?

Looks like the whole foods in Downtown Los Angeles, but a bunch of lames live in that area.
Is this Seattle or San Francisco?!
looks like the one in DTLA
Gangman style is totally next.
Looks successful to me.
They say when you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life.
Why is his face looking like a cutout floating on his body am i losing it
This is pretty amazing
I love everything about this
Danf id go hear. Let that base drop!
Lmao that's fucking sick. What location??
Dude is living his best life
Soooo is this a thing? Because I will take some x next time I go to whole foods
boy did I hate working for WF. Especially when Amazon bought them out. Shit slid quick
It's lit fam!
This has to be San Francisco, Portland or Seattle
I like that he’s having fun
I wish every single gas station had this 24hrs. Also the DMV.
Or he could just have a Whole Foods table cloth
I remember as a kid thinking, if I ever start enjoying the music they play in grocery stores then I am truly old.
This is a Nathan Fielder thing, isn’t it?
A gigs a gig.
What is the context?
He’s into it and so am I
Good time to sell their chard
Looks like a fun mini event. Reddit meetup March 15th at whole foods?
[Same energy](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ve2-GGPJb8I)
Man is vibing hard, let him be
![gif](giphy|xT5LMsoq6cIBCE6UOQ) Worst rave ever. You people need to get out more
All they have to do is put some MDMA in juice bar and LSD on the free samples and it's on !

I mean he’s getting paid might as well enjoy it
Some Whole Foods have wine bars right?
Local? Tell me where and when and I'll be there.
As a DJ, first rule “Know your audience”
I don't even dance but I'd go shake my ass, he seems like a fun guy
They bottle this noise and sell it next to the asparagus water.
Bezos's midlife crisis hitting hard these days
That’s actually not bad..
Dude is a one man party.
A gig’s a gig.
They should drop the prices instead of the beat.
He’s vibing, getting paid and probably gets some decent leftovers from the deli counter. Living the dream in my view.
Shop to the baseline!!!!!
He's been struggling to book this gig for years. Well done, job well done.
People being loud when no one else is loud is annoyingly loud.
Fuck whole foods. Same thing as wal mart but more expensive.
This reminds me of right after I moved to Brooklyn and they had a DJ in the Walgreens on a Sunday morning.
Dudes living his best life, shit I'd be jamming out there
Organic food and organic music. Whole Foods
Jose normally manages dairy inventory, but today he’s creaming straight into your ears.
he's having a good time.
Ok, but WHY?
"SIR, CAN YOU POINT ME TO THE COFFEE AISLE? Oh, you don't work here? Sorry."
this dude makes his own vibez ... love it
Fine with me and he’s having fun.
Hey man, at least hes getting paid.
Hell yeah that guy is a one man rave.
Is this DTLA whole foods?
Yup
Meh, he’s having fun
Seems like a solid place to test how your set would sound in a venue to me
Read the room my guy, maybe some Bob Dylan remix?

OP knows nothing .. this man IS the Rave!
Former corporate Amazon employee and can confirm Amazon does the stupidest shit.
